i've repaired a lot of motorhomes and travel trailers and i have to say that the lazy daze is the best constructed motorhome made. the framing is very solid, they don't use wood with knots or cracks in it, the exterior aluminum siding and roof is pretty much indestructible and they rarely leak, unlike fiberglass-sided ones with rubber roofs. i also like the fact that they are sold factory direct only, and every one is built to order.
Still lots of life left in this classic Lazy Daze. I purchased a 2001 mid bath model in 2013 and still have it. Someone in DC area had purchased and drove it back from California and then it sat under an awning for 12 years. It only had the miles on it from the factory and the bathroom was not even used. New tires and every fluid changed and it ran like new and still does. Very similar to this model but has a dinette area that offers another bed. It’s my understanding that Lazy Daze was the first to offer the cab over bed. But for sure a Class C is much safer as the cab area is from Ford with air bags and must follow higher safety guidelines than a Class A. I started as a backpacker, to Pop Up, to 15 years of VW Camper as kids grew, and now to the Class C Lazy Daze. I’ve got to go dig out some old VW Westfalia Photos. I can tell you the 88 VW Westy was more expensive to maintain but I sold it for almost as much as I originally paid for it. Lazy Daze goes for reliability and you will not find slide outs but they feel big with the huge windows. The Lazy Daze forum is more active than any RV owners group out there. You can take on lots of repairs with the help of this forum. Really enjoyed the tour. Older in good shape is a lot easier on the budget.
Looks as though the original inside colour was the natural wood grain befor the previous owner painted it in white. Most older motorhome RV's were done in natural wood grain, but was very dark. The white gives it a nice fresh modern look and easy to wipe clean. Very nice thanks. James.
The number one thing that I like about the older "vintage" motorhomes was the classy exteriors without crazy swirls. I hate swirls! I have them on my present motorhome and plan to have them removed in the future. This Lazy Daze motorhome has a good looking, nice exterior! Why can't the manufacturers get the message? This one, with a steel frame and aluminum exterior is perfect!
I'm always happy to see a link at the end of an article to a story done by New Jersey... because I know it will be well done and I will learn something valuable. Thank-you.
This is a beautiful motorhome...inside and out! I LOVE Lazy Daze motorhomes...they are classic! Thanks for the tour! I loved the photos of their early camper van days, too!
Thank you for sharing this tour Patrick, Ken & Stephanie. I just acquired a 1986 Lazy Daze motorhome that has been well taken care of. It's almost the same floor plan. I have a pull out bed & the 2 chairs in the back. Still not exactly sure what size the bed is. Full or queen. Ken explains where everything is & capacity of the tanks. I have not found a manual yet. This has helped me greatly. I have not gone on my 1st adventure yet. I'm downsizing from our 36 ft RV to the new 22 ft one. I know not everything will fit or will need for our little family
I have a '91 that came with a manual that says 1989 on the front. I scanned it and have sent it to quite a few "oldies" owners. Happy to send it to you if you'd like. My back is set up similar to yours. The sofa to bed is full and over the cab is a queen.
Wonderful people - I guess my own van here in UK is about the same size - an Autostratus - What surprises me is the large engines you have in US - my 31/2 ton RV has a just a 2.5 diesel with no turbo and 86HP so every hill is a challenge every brow a smile
I love this one. It has everything -- full bath, nice kitchen, tons of storage, and those huge panoramic windows in the back! I want one! I keep wondering if I could live in a van full time. I'm not sure I could, but this thing... maybe.
It has everything! Wow, pretty impressive inside & out. Very nice. Fun to check it out with you. 🌷 Thanks Patrick! And thank you, folks as well. Happy 🏕 Camping !
I also live in Florida wish he was close by I have a 4 drawer file cabinet excellent shape that I would love to give him because I have no need for it anymore. I usually give away as blessings rather than have yard sales. Wish Ken and Stephanie many blessings and thanks so much for the video Patrick.
What an excellent video! I have a 1991 Lazy Daze, slightly different floor plan, and it was really great seeing someone else love theirs. And for me, seeing what mine would look like with a white-painted interior. Originally, the LDs came with wood paneling -- like the inside of this one's cabinets... mine is dark inside compared to theirs. Every comment about the LD build quality is absolutely true. After 30 years, solid as a rock, drives great, and makes a fine spare bedroom for visitors!
Super rig. Thanks for sharing! Also, Ken was doing ‘the van life’ back in the day! Good discussion, too. Patrick, great tips. You’re performing a valuable service.
If you give Patrick an empty box, he would make a 28 min video out of it and make it so much interesting and fun that you will watch all 28 minutes of it. When he does the videos with other people he points so nicely that the owners or the vehicles start to talk like a pro. Amazing work Patrick Love the vintage beast. Beautiful tour, Thank you Patrick
This is the 2nd Lazy Days coach I have seen. I had never heard of them before! I absolutely love them!! They are so unique and have such a timeless design!! This one has been beautifully updated!! Cheers
Yes Lazydayz are in Montclair CA. Been there since 1956. And the motorhomes are "made to order" I heard that there was/is a nearly a two year waiting list to order one. Only the older models were made 19 to 22 feet. They only make 24 27 And 31 foot models now.
Nice retro look, pretty good shape, full size bathroom, king size bed, semi truck mirrors, CB radio... Wow... Get the antena, set SWRs, switch onto channel 19 and hammer down.... Sorry for the rant... I'm just in love with it....
Thank you for the excellent walk thru and around, and the information about trouble spots, older/newer RVs, insurance, etc! Answered a lot of questions for me, thanks again.
Right! Ken gives a great thorough tour. Maybe he's been watching Patrick's videos. But seeing that he's been camping for years, he's probably just a natural. 😅
That’s a really cool looking motor home ! That’s great that metal was used in it & fiberglass was used as well too! Which will last & last .that motorhome is classy looking ! The inside is neat & lots of storage too !
Nice retro camper. I think I'm starting to like retro campers a little more than the new ones. Airstream is my favorite, their old campers are the coolest. But, this was a nice rig. Adequate storage and they kept it clean. Good job Patrick.
We have a 2003 Mid Bath, same color as this. Love ours, but this one has a lot of nice storage features that ours doesn’t have. (where you store the bedding!) Thanks for sharing!
Lazy Daze was my other main choice when looking for a rig. Ended up with a B190. I love the quality of the build inside and out, the thoughtful design, the 270 degree rear windows, and the owners always love them. If I ever decide to boondock outside of cities, I might get a 26’ Lazy Daze with the rear BR.
Love this channel. Thinking of getting a small van or RV and this channel helps a lot in making a decision on year, size, model, etc. thanks for posting!!!
The mid-bath lazy daze is my dream rv. This one is a beauty😍 Looks like they have a really cool canned ham as well. Would love to see a tour of that. Love the vintage stuff😊👌🏽 Thanks, Patrick!
I LOVE YOUR LAZY DAZE CAMPER ~~ OH HOW I WISH THEY HAD THESE OLDER DESIGNED CAMPERS IN AUSTRALIA ~~ IT IS DECEPTIVELY HUGE AND I THINK HAS EVERYTHING YOU WOULD EVER NEED IN A CAMPER. IF YOU BRING IT TO AUSTRALIA, AND DECIDE TO LEAVE IT HERE, I’LL BUY IT FROM YOU ~~ YOU WOULD LOVE AUSTRALIA ! CHEERS, THANKS FOR THE TOUR ~~ SUBSCRIBED. xoxox AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺 QUEENSLAND.
G'Day Allison, We've traveled to Australia for a month, visiting great friends and experiencing many different places. If we had the opportunity we'd love to go back and tour the country in an RV. Cheers! Thanks for liking our RV home! Stephanie & Ken
Hi Patrick! Great retro motorhome!! You nailed it again with this awesome video! We have been rejected from several RV resorts for not having an RVIA certification...something to keep in mind with an older RV or homemade camper! Safe and great travels everyone! Looking forward to your next video!
Well maintained, adorable, just the right size, awesome storage for a smaller rv and a full bathroom. Thanks for the tour. 🚌 The age of one’s unit should not be an issue if well maintained however there are what I’d refer to as “snobby” rv parks that are choosing to enforce an age restriction of (10) years or newer.
Great video and info i just found a 84 chevy mallard 22 ft needs a cleaning from sitting in a shed but its all there and not a mouse nest inside so bring it home this sat ,thank you for sharing big hugs from MN
I Love Lazy Daze Rigs toured the plant in 1993. And got to pick up 3 coaches for customers in Vegas and deliver them. Their propane tank need immediate attention!!!!!! Nothing but rust. It also looks like their grey tank has a leak or a loose connection. Good Eyes Patrick what a cream puff coach. And very nice people
Another awesome couple and a cool motor home....love the vintage re do.....great to get a mechanical and review the body.....I think if you want one long term or to go far from home you have to get it checked for good quality...but the older not-in-so-great-pretty- shape models are awesome for bush / hunting rigs....mostly man caves lol but perfect ....but this rig has a lot of well kept structure. Lucky couple! 😊🇨🇦❤️
The other front living room layout with couch utilizing the cab area swivel chairs and two other swivel chairs as a large living room is my favorite. In my opinion it’s more space efficient with bathroom across the back.
The CAnned Ham people...interesting....excellent video...very nice people and Ken explained his motorhome very clearly...thanks for the tips on buying used....I intend to buy a used one at some point, so this was helpful!
that is absolutely awesome. I could live in that and be able to live instead of all my money going to my utilities and my house due to being disabled and 64.
Patrick, Hello, I am surprised at the full sized items in this vehicle , granted its age, the mileage is low I did not notice if it was single rear tyres, or a dually, Cheers 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I feel like these older campers really have everything you need. Lots of space and practical... Haha dvds and cable, still oldschool :) Netflix is a good alternative if you don't have cable
Bro you are intense you put some footage out say I really do like the lost and forgotten section of your channel showing the details of different places is amazing thank you

Nice!! They are well built indeed. I tried to find one after seeing Ausia's "Panda" on her Pandemonium channel. I just bought a bus yesterday, no desalination there either.
I love this camper but please finish off the paintwork inside the cupboards! It’s beautiful and very well kept! Very organised and a pleasure to watch! Lovely folks!❤️❤️❤️
These guys are the original van lifers! So cool to see and hear about their 70's build out.

Great information to have when looking for older RV's. This motorhome is beautiful and in great condition. What a find! Thanks for sharing.

Great video! Love the camper. What I learned from this video is that yellow lights reduce the attraction of bugs! I will remember that ☺️
Glad it was helpful!

I really like the effective design of the older rec vehicles. They also look more homey and comforting.

Oh wow, that is really awesome.
Nice overview and some great information. Enjoyed this episode a lot.
