I have it set up at Spring Grove for a lunch after the funeral. Spring Grove has done a very good job making sure my final wishes. Everything is done from the funeral to the intermit. I like that the rep listened to what my final wishes where I asked alot of questions. Thanks Karri for your videos. I will drive through the cemetery amazed on how big it is

Kari thank you so much for the information. I am from Detroit, MI and my cousin died on 8/15 and on the 30th his sister died suddenly. They were creamated but had a full viewing and funeral service. I was the only one that knew it was a rental casket and i had to really look hard. Thank you for the education.
Kari and Josh, how are y’all? I’m so happy to see a funeral home that is giving the options that have the family together with the loss of loved ones without so much sadness. We will all travel this journey and while families will mourn the loss of loved ones, they are less stressed when they have the time to relax and concentrate on the many good memories they can openly share about the person they are mourning and are relaxed with the surroundings not so painful that they forget to say goodbye for now and I hope to see you on the other side. Wow! This is an incredible place. I love how the funeral isn't sad and that it's a celebration where they can be more personal at the tables and can have a more intimate send off. Here it's pews or chairs, all faced forward and so serious.
The funeral industry has really evolved since I've started in the '70's. Typically a body needed to be present in order to have a service & there weren't reception venues provided. Today FH's have taken on a different twist on how to serve families in their communities. Corporate owned FH's can afford to fine tune their locations by making them more appealing which has a lasting impression. I recently attended a service where the family provided photos & videos of the deceased to be played in the slumber room & the equipment was provided by the FH. There was also a reception area near the slumber room that was catered. Genius! I have second thoughts about a popcorn machine. As an employee, I would be responsible for sweeping up the mess. :(
Kari, I think the idea of having popcorn and movies in a repast/convention facility is great, but you did not show us where the slot machines were located.
Yeah, that doesn't happen in UK, you get an office most do order of service (is that what they're called), and any wake you book yourself. We are now getting funeral live streamed and some video but normally someone who does weddings and other thing. Just nothing on this scale
Don't you think that the facility there is much more acceptable in a large city like Las Vegas than say the small towns in Michigan. I'm thinking it's cold, to big, and impersonal for me. But heck I'm still so old school I'm probably wrong. 😅
I agree. But I'm also pretty traditional as well. Although, my cousin had her dad's and brother's joint memorial gathering at a restaurant's banquet room, but it was months after their deaths. I thought it was appropriate for the circumstances.
I'm old school as well, not saying that I like going to funerals, but this is rather cold & clinical, for me. I know if a black owned funeral home, that was taken over by a corp. We still have a couple of ethnic FHs in the neighborhood, but I'm wondering, if or when a big corporation, will take them over. I just think, it's nothing but a money grab. I could be wrong, but this is simply my opinion.
