The keepsake candle and flower seeds are such a heartfelt gift to for the family. Truly special.
Thank you!
Love seeing locally owned & operated funeral homes. They have a genuine vibe that is missing from the corporate run homes.
I also find abandoned funeral homes throughout the US quite interesting as well .Seems some even had bars for them to relax in after a hard days work .I suppose those faded away and now operate a little differently these days .
Agreed!
This Stark funeral home is remarkable
Beautiful place and beautifully renovated and updated. Has a touch of modern, but still has small town charm. If I was coming here for my loved one's arrangements, I'd feel very comfortable and right at home. Akron Ohio has a few slightly dated looking funeral homes (wonderful places I'm sure) but nothing wrong with modernizing just a little.
Stark Memorial is indeed very bright and welcoming, and that is such an appreciated aspect to a funeral home.
I love the Heaven Sent candle! And him asking to have a scent of what heaven would smell like.
You all do such important things in your community. Thank you for your kindness and Care.
thank you
That was an impressive tour. Seeing that gift of a heaven sent candle made me cry. This owner really checked all the boxes.
Love that idea!
This is a gorgeous funeral home, it has so much positive character. The woodworking of the doors and doorways are so beautifully done. I just love it. Dark and muted tones do tend to bring out more sadness .
agreed!
Cool! Reminds me of all the cool stuff Nathan Morris is doing with Morris Family Services in Kentucky.
Check the news on him
He has done a beautiful job in making a modern, welcoming space. I also loved the pictures and history on the wall.
Agreed!
It's a beautiful upgrade. More in line with celebrating a death than the old school all black, formal and a year's worth of mourning. This is much more loving.
agreed!
I love the historical stuff they found in the attic
me too!
Very beautifully done Kari, tyvvm for the informational tour, also the artifacts from the history of the Funeral Parlor,in the same location of 102yrs,serving their community. Very well done 👏
thank you!
@@KaritheMortician you are most welcome Kari, &again I thank you, for making the funeral time not so worrisome
I do like the changes. I wish the lighting aside where the casket and other places were replaced also. I remember seeing those 40 years ago in funeral homes.
Fluorescent lighting is suggested & heavily used in casket selection rooms throughout the U.S. so that shadows are not noticeable. A trick of the trade.
These are tried and true
Those candles and seed packets are such a gift. I'm sure families love and appreciate them so much.
thanks
The candles are such a cool touch! Love it!
I like that FH. It seems more like when they used to have viewings in the home. I wish him luck in finding a 20s hearse. A lot were Studebakers .
Thank you!
Here in Ontario Canada funeral home owners can own crematoriums too. In my hometown of Sudbury there is a funeral home with three locations, a crematory and a flower shop. The flower shop shares a parking lot with their main chapel.
thank you for sharing
Kari, It come as No surprize that you are associated with such wonderful fold. This Funeral Director is such a wonderful guy.
Was wonderful seeing Dan again!
I had a friend that lived in Salem, OHIO that pasted away and her funeral was at this funeral home. That was back in January 2023.fromAkron, OHIO it was very nice funeral home.
Lovely!
Thanks KARI for doing this interview from Stark Funeral home. From AKRON, OHIO ❤❤❤😊😊😊
You are welcome!
Love this; my dad passed away in July, and most everyone was from out-of-town, so we held the funeral in the morning, then came back from the burial and had a catered event at the funeral home. The funeral home was decorated in similar fashion and they provided catering as none of us had any idea who to call to set it up. So much stress was taken off of me as I was the family member in charge of final arrangements.
Thank you for sharing this!
Beautiful funeral home. It doesn't have that creepy look you see in a traditional funeral home. Even the crematory is gorgeous.
It is all so pretty
Also I loved that he offered Parting Stones as an option for his clients.
He has some great things to offer there
I wished I could visit my dad ,trouble is he was laid to rest in Costa Rica .Thanks to my stepmother she was sending us a video of his open casket and a photo just before passing ,safe to say I want no part of her or the country anymore .Thanks for the look into what most of us don't often see .
Sorry for that distance
Beautiful home. Soft seating everywhere. He cracked a code there. All of the funerals I have ever attended seating was lacking, especially comfortable seating. I like to be comfortable when grieving. Hard chairs and benches just make me want to get it all over with.
Agreed!
So beautiful
Thank you so much
I love the candle and seeds. What a wonderful idea. Glad to see a locally owned funeral home. The crematorium area is super nice, the area around the retort isn't "scary". Love the marble and who doesn't like diamond plate. Thanks for the tour.
You are welcome!
Totally beautiful I’ve never seen one like this one before everything looks amazing yet peaceful and well lighted which is what caught my eyes it doesn’t make you feel sad compared to the older closed windows with all the darkness inside. Sure wish there was one here the area where you can go to and eat while staying at the funeral home is beautiful.
It was stunning
Beautiful!!! Love the hearse, too!
me too!
Absolutely love the candle idea!!

wow this is awesome! I love what did it's so comforting, airy and bright! I also love how he cooperated the history of the place and it definitely doesn't have the traditional funeral home look. he said he was looking for an old hurst, I wonder if he knows about Hemmings motor news, they have all types of very old vehicles he might find what he is looking for in there. thank you for sharing the video🙂🙂
you are welcome
It is definitely important to adapt to the current market trends in any business, but especially in the Death Care industry.
Agreed!!
Can't wait to see the video, let's go with Kari right now
:)
Those old recordings that look like an old 8 track, but those are really carts that were used by radio stations to play music and commercials. I'll bet they contained commercials for the funeral home back in the day.
thank you
My husband was born in Salem, OH. He was a Navy kid and moved a lot, but Salem has always been home. It’s a very small world.
Awesome!!
I went to Miami Dade College for Funeral Service Ed.😊😊😊😊😊😊

Thanks for sharing but over the years I have been in many funeral homes in my state. At one funeral home, i even purchased a memory book just for fun. I no longer have a need to visit more funeral homes........ From the Ozarks drinking free fresh spring water 💦
You are welcome!
Very interesting and very nice changes. Kari, are you. Preg?
No I am not. Guess that donut I had that day showed
It was the red blouse SORRY!!!!
Would love to see more funeral homes offer water cremation as well..
Anyone can facilitate it and just transport to a facility it is at
That's good to know, thanks Kari...
Do embalmers HAVE to do the funeral director part as well?
Depends on the funeral home
Yeah I really believe the Ads. Ppl with mail you cash of 21,k a month. S mH. Real appropriate for this Post. Not very bright adept. ADS on TH-cam. SMH.
I wish they would mail me cash
Does he have more the one viewing room ?
It can be broken into two I believe
The preparation room wasn’t shown.
No there were a few deceased in the area.
But aren’t those deceased usually covered anyway? Or is there a rule (or, at least, an ethical guideline) not to film the deceased even if they’re covered?
Where’s the grave digger guy that used to be in a bunch of your videos?
Josh?
I work with the hall family in ohio. They own two funeral home
I went to school with Evan :)
Does he sell SM official swag like ballcaps?
no
7:19 The $$ room ??
Huh?!
YU please STOP WITH ADS like the 2nd one. Tracking your retirement money. SMH. Crazy ppl.
I do not control the ads. YT doesn't monetize my stuff really so talk to them
Very echoey
Yes something happened with the mic at the beginning but it corrected later
I guess it was less expensive to not change the name of the Funeral Home because it has been there so long.
@robertzalenski45512
Changing the name of the funeral home would change the integrity, trust and history. That would be a huge loss to the community, future and the owner of the establishment. There’s money, trust and a future in the past
Yes nostalgia
Your in my backyard can I treat you to dinner?
This was two months ago we filmed :)
Oh lol when you go back look me up
