    All due respect! Big Tech is like making it to the NFL/NBA. Meaning that this shit is for the top 1%! How does this help someone trying to get started in Tech? You're not going from a bootcamp to Google/Amazon/Microsoft etc.

    • @stilltranquil
      @stilltranquil ปีที่แล้ว +4

      What’s worse is the dude is a recruiter. You don’t need any sort of tech experience to become a tech recruiter. Most of the recruiters I know had communications degrees and they made it as a recruiter in a FAANG company. I get they wanted him to highlight what recruiters look for but it would’ve been better to get a hiring manager on. They’re the ultimate decision makers and filter out the candidates the recruiters give them.

      You can get into big tech with just a bootcamp. There have been several graduates from the bootcamp I'm in that just got into Apple and Google. If you interview well and they like you, then you'll get it. Optimism is key.

    • @dpman3964
      @dpman3964 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@naturallymemarie9650 Not saying you are lying but optimism will not get you an interview at Apple or Google. Assuming you had no previous tech experience and didn't go to major university. How in the hell did they even get the interview?

    • @naturallymemarie9650
      @naturallymemarie9650 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @dpman39 the bootcamp helps to revise your resume and LinkedIn so that its fully optimized for the job application algorithm. We put everything we've learned in the course and everything we did in the internship as experience. We have an interview cheat sheet that we go over and we do mock interviews with a mentor to ensure we know our stuff.

      Agreed. Its definitely extremely difficult to get into these big tech companies. With these top companies you need to go the "Backdoor route". Internal referrals, or diversity apprenticeships is the name of the game.. Microsoft has a program called leap which is catered towards minorities trying to pivot unto tech with non traditional backgrounds..also linkedin had a similar program called reach... Check some of these programs out.

    I would love to know if you have a video with anyone/or alone that goes over resumes and LinkedIn pages for new grads? I'm graduating with a Software Engineer degree soon, but I don't know how to build a resume/LinkedIn that will help me stand out from the rest (or at least seem like a viable contender). Not necessarily specific to big tech but just someone who is new to the tech field overall
