Teddy you have a very respectful way of communicating, ive started incorporating it in my own business meetings and its had a huge impact. Words like "perspective" and "positioning" are things i use every day!
I also have adopted using the terminology of discussing various design “perspectives” in my work in lieu of “Your wrong, and are all of you this stupid?”. It seems to be effective! 😉
Hey Teddy, im always glad when formats like this get released for regular guys like us that cant spend a fortune on rolex etc. i love watched since im a little kid and also owned a Rolex myself which made me fall for watches even more. your videos are always great to watch, very well made and a great thing to do all the time. thank you for all the uploads and keep going! well done :)
Your taste is fantastic - particularly the sub $500 collection, stunning in any company, even more than your next two levels up imho, because you've chosen uncompromising and timeless designs which look classy and understated. You have proved that this obsession needn't be about mere money!
Well, I have a 2 watch collection for under $500, both quartz movements however. I bought my Tissot Tradition for my 18th birthday, because I wanted something dressy for my day to day wear as a student without having the cost of servicing attached to it. Later I bought a Casio Duro with the pepsi bezel and put it on a nato strap, because I was out cycling and swimming a lot more often and I wanted something to go along with that.
I’m down to two, a Seamaster 300 Professional as my daily and a Seamaster Aqua Terra. The 300P was the first luxury watch I purchased, my wife bought me the AT for an engagement present, I will never sell either of them. Next year I’m 50 and will buy a new watch to mark that birthday. So far I’m undecided but am looking at the Globemaster and Tresor Small Seconds.
Globemaster and Tresor are both great but why not diversify your collection by adding other great brands, IWC, Panerai, Tudor, JLC or even Zenith etc… lots of other high end pieces that, in my opinion rival any Omega. Also, special days get the attention of Rolex ADs. Have your wife go to the person who is charge of watches and tell them she wants to give you something special for your 50th. Tell them you always wanted a Rolex (pick the model you want) but life got in the way, kids etc… and would like to get on the list. They typically respond to special events and will try to get the watch, if your interested and have proximity to an Rolex AD, it works.
My two watches since last year has been the Oris BC Pointer Date and Tudor BB58. Both quite versatile imo. Though I wish I had something solely for dressier occasions; perhaps a tank in the future.
Love these kinds of video's, really getting into watches myself, learning about the options and watches out there. I know for the 10k bracket I'd want the new Omega Seamaster 300 in blue but I'd have to learn more about what's out there for the second watch to round the pair out. I'm glad to see a watch content creator who appreciates what's available at a wide range of price ranges, not just those high end brands.
@@x201t Yes true, and when I do buy one it will be a life goal achieved. But my comment was more that his passion for the early price segments (and watches just in general) is clear and present. Even if you can afford a Seamaster, you likely won't want to wear it every day because it is so valuable (damage/lost/stolen). Which is why I have things like Seiko, Zelos and Spinnaker. But I also have cheaper watches like Invicta that I'll still throw on time to time.
Only combo I question is the $25k range with the Reverso + GMT Master II. The Reverso is essentially a GMT: two independently set watches with a day/night indicator (like a GMT bezel). So you're basically combining dress GMT with sport GMT. Both great watches, but not probably the pair I'd put together. Great list otherwise! Always fun to think in these sorts of ways!
My picks: $500: Seiko cocktail time and Orient Kamasu $1,000: Hamilton Khaki field and Baltic Aquascaphe $5,000: Nomos Tangente and Tudor Black Bay 36 $10,000: Omega Aqua Terra and Tudor Black Bay GMT $25,000: JLC Ultra-Thin Moon and Rolex Explorer 1
I was expecting the 2000$ budget for the Seiko+Hamilton or Tissot, maybe Frederique Constant and some Orient... I am looking at sub1000$ watches and it would have been great having a pair like that for less than 2000$
It was a tough call on where to make the budgets. Wanted to try to cover as much as possible without making this video too lengthy. Certainly have covered that price quite a bit on the channel as well.
@@TeddyBaldassarre hey teddy, sir... i recently just saw an article about the new tissot gentleman open heart... Was hoping if you could get it on your channel sometime and also i really enjoy your videos, thank you so much...
My perfect two watch collection is a Speedy and a Citizen eco-drive diver. Citizen to always be ready to go for sports, work, water, whatever hard use or locations you wouldn't want to wear an expensive watch to, and the speedy for daily wear and everything else.
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome… Black Bay Crono is a huge winner and I think a better option to the oversold Speedy. Love the fact that you had the guts to promo the Oris and Reverso, rectangles are very underrated and overlooked classics. I’m also ok with the GMT, and you nailed it with the Langa and Breguet. Well done and glad you didn’t trash Rolex and tell everyone that Omega is the best value…. Not an Omega hater, I own several, but need to keep recommendations fresh, and there are so many great premium manufacturers that offer superior value. I am working on a two watch collection. Right now I have the GMT 126710BLNR . I think the best balance would be the new JLC Polaris Perpetual Calendar. Ooof so sweet!
Great as usual!! For a unlimited budget I have to say that a Patek 5205 or a 5396 would be just the perfect option. Although the 5270 is my favorite watch.
My picks: 1. Casio GT01 for formal and semi-formal: a change of straps to swap from formal and semi, this watch is simple, elegant and classy. 2. Casio AE1200 for casual and sportswear, allows a wide array of customization options. Plus, even if you decide to keep it as is out of the box, it's a fun watch for great every-day casual use. Why spend big bucks? 🙃
In the Seiko-Orient duo, I pick the formal from Seiko and the diver from Orient, I mean Seiko Presage ice blue with complications and the Orient Kamasu Dark Green
Another fun vlog Teddy, really enjoyed this one...having been a guy with 200 watches and then selling them all and now have maybe 8....ready to go to just two new pieces.....you have given some solid ideas!
The oris rectangular is one amazing watch- but I wouldn’t limit my choice to just the blue one. You could buy any of the colours, chuck their strap and put a tan or black strap on it and you could really open up the situations you can wear it in
Thank you SIR . Great video. You have found the perfect duets in each category of ressources. Very nice watches, i have a crush for the REVERSO . Of course there is more expensive reverso but i will be truly happy to wear the model you shown.
Great video as always. Nice options, and I really like the new Longines Zulu Time. I actually tried on the green version yesterday and remarked how much thinner it was than the BB GMT. If they had the blue dial I would have been hard not to pull the trigger. I'm holding out hope for my true GMT choice of a Batman, but at 3K, I could probably buy the Zulu Time and replenish that amount from the savings I have set aside while waiting for my Rolex AD... Now, I would like to hear more about this fantasy tale of obtaining a Pepsi without an AD purchase history, lol....
My goal is to make a collection pairing watches from the opposite end of the scales: Breguet paired with the Seiko, and Lange paired with a bambino. You can’t get classier.😉
I recently Purchased The Omega CK859 Sector watch from my local AD, Teddy I am Waiting for you to get this watch back in Stock! I love the Sector Watch’s and would love to add this specific Longines to my collection. Like the Dark dial on this model as well as the bracket.
There are different collections out there, but I do like seeing great two watch collections the most, since they are usually more thought out and refined in terms of pairing!
I just picked up a Bulova Precisionist and a Seiko chronograph (not prospex) to add to my collection. Already have an older prospex solar not the "Seitona".
Man, I wish I could live with a two watch collection! I recently found a great price on a particular Omega Seamaster reference I've been hunting but the only way I could justify something like that would be if I sold the two divers I already have, one a Christopher Ward and the other a microbrand, I really don't want to part with them but there's no way I'd be comfortable keeping all 3 after a large purchase. Maybe one day I'll pare all the way down to just a Seamaster and a Reverso, that would be living like a monk for me!
Patience is the way. The purchases I have enjoyed the most are the ones that are not impulsive but are thoughtful and are in alignment with the big picture of my collecting journey. Keep the eye on the prize and work backward from the goal of developing a timeline for the purchase. Be financially responsible and never let instant gratification win!
I only keep one high end piece at a time and the rest of my collection is g shock, Tissot, Hamilton,Seiko Timex ect. I find I am too rough on watches. I have damaged many watches prematurely requiring servicing very early in the watches life.
Hi Teddy, I have a 6 inch wrist and keen to get a Cartier Tank Must ... Which size do you think fits my wrist size? Small or Large? Hope you can give me some advice. More power to your channel!!
Going up in price, I will go for: Lorier, Baltic, Christopher Ward, Farer, Tudor, Rolex OP, to end with a VC Evrest Overseas Dual time. 😎 And I would probably add a few vintage Omega, Rolex,...
I have two watch collection Vacheron Constantine dual time regulator (white gold) and Omega Seemaster professional chronograph, but considering to add another two,Breitling super ocean heritage blue rubber and Tudor Black Bay GMT S&G.
Well I have basically just a two watch collection, for around 7k. And I like the versatile approach you did here, but maybe I am not that diverse in my tastes. So I went for a BB58 bronze and another watch with atleast bronze accents: the RW Freelancer Skeleton with bronze. But I really like this kind of videos to compare, what else I could have chosen for my money or what you might have picked instead. keep it up!
To me, these is how to build a perfect collection: Gshock/casio beater of choice Microbrands: anything that you like My choices are Zelos swordfish and vandaag tiefsee (I dont like dress watches in this price segment, imo a dress watch needs to be expensive, otherwise id rather wear a sports watch, kinda snubby I know) Then your grails: Mine are Cartier santos Reverso Speedmaster Gs sbgj251 Monaco And a classic black submariner
I’d like to see a price segment video like this for used watches. You’d have to consider reliability and service ease. We recognize you’re an AD but some of us are not going to buy a new model when we can pay 40% of that cost for like-new models. My Aquis Cal 400 was $1700, for example.
I've got a 3 watch collection. My beater is a sinn 105 St Sa UTC (really great watch, extremely durable) and I've got a stainless steel vasheron overseas perpetual calendar which I got awhile ago for a hell of a deal as well as a Tudor black bay ceramic (my most recent addition). I do own an old submariner from the 80s as well but I don't consider it a part of my collection since I never wear it (it's a family heirloom). Been wanting to buy a grand Seiko spring drive but I want the 0.5 accuracy movement which is difficult to get outside of limited series models. Also been looking at buying a bulgari octo Roma world timer; I really like the geral genta style integrated timers and because I work for an international company I tend to like gmt/UTC/dual time complications. If I had the money I would also try to get one of the jlc Reverso hybris. I dislike square watches but that watch is a work of art but it's absurdly expensive because only 4 were made. Baring that I would get the Reverso grande
My primary watch is Hamilton aviator cooP My sports watches are kamasu burgundy and blue manta samurai My dress watch is khaki king champain dial I would like to add a gold / bronze / two toned. Really liking tissot
Fantastic video. I like the choices within the price ranges. I would go for the options in the USD 5,000 bracket. Both are stunners, versatile, fantastic brands and have the looks.
If I had to go with only having two watches in my collection (that I could realistically achieve), it would be the Oris Aquis GMT Date from my sport and the Frederique Constant Classic Moonphase Manufacture for my dress. Get those from the right seller, and that should fit the $5,000 range.
I have a lot of expensive watches. Honestly the Seiko and the Orient are enough to provide people with all they need, including myself. Although the JLC Reverso is stunning.
Loved this video Teddy, thanks for bringing it to us. I was trying to build a two watch collection under $5000 and I have already bought the Longines Zulu Time. For the dressy option I had decided on the Anordain Model 1 and even enlisted for their waiting list. That was 4 months ago but have still not received any confirmation from them on the time of delivery. Maybe you can put in a good word for me ;) considering how you played a big part in putting them on the map (I for one got to know about them from your videos only)! PS: That Lange in titanium is a really exciting watch...hopefully would be able to afford something like that one day :)
It's funny how the comment section about rolex makes the youtubers afraid of mentioning this brand. It's ridiculous if you ask me. Teddy if you're reading this, never apologize for mentioning any watch that you like, no matter what. Great pick.
I'm generally dubious about sport watches that cost thousands, but that Longines Zulu Time is a terrific value. Beautiful watch, top notch movement, just the functionality that most of us will actually use ... and it's special enough to be the only one in the room. It's still priced to be worn, not stashed in a box, and I would wear it just about every day. I'd make room in the budget for it by going with with a Tissot Gentleman or PRX as my dress watch. For a budget sport watch, the Seiko 5 GMT is hard to pass up at 500 bucks.
Love the Tudor Chrono pick, if only I could get one. Been told there is a 4-5 year waiting list by my local AD unless I get the gold version but much prefer the panda.
Excellent format. You could go on with a “budget for three (four, five) watch collection” etc. It would turn everyone into happy watch collectors. Thanks.
For me that's pretty much all the dial has going for it... I don't know why brands feel the have to put so much useless information on the dial and clutter it up. The five stars look tacky, I don't need the dial to tell me its an automatic or the model name. Personal preference I guess.
Teddy, love your work and videos but there is a brand and a model that i think you should see. I don't think that you ever made a review about it but i could be wrong. Please see the Union Glashutte 1893, the small seconds version and white dial 👌😍 Cheers from Portugal! Keep up the good work
Havent seen if you did a review or you mentioned in one of your videos the new Seiko 5 Sports SSK GMT models, and if you didnt what are your thoughts on it?
Good video but you should have done a 2000 or 3000 dollars category

Also been looking at buying a bulgari octo Roma world timer; I really like the geral genta style integrated timers and because I work for an international company I tend to like gmt/UTC/dual time complications. If I had the money I would also try to get one of the jlc Reverso hybris. I dislike square watches but that watch is a work of art but it's absurdly expensive because only 4 were made. Baring that I would get the Reverso grande
Definitively missing an Omega on any of the higher end collections, but other than that, liked the selections!
Hey Teddy, what’s your favorite watch you want to own and your favorite you currently own?
Kevin's pick made the lineup! Mr. Unlimited himself
5:41 what's going on in the date window there? Also Longines should drop the stars on the dial, looks so tacky.
My primary watch is Hamilton aviator cooP
My sports watches are kamasu burgundy and blue manta samurai
My dress watch is khaki king champain dial
I would like to add a gold / bronze / two toned. Really liking tissot
I wonder if I can get down to two? 😅
1. Seiko Alpinist/Tissot Gentleman. 2. G Shock (beater/dive watch).
I just picked up an Orient Bambino yesterday -- what a super cool watch for $135.
the jlc reverso tribute moon phase is timeless + exemplifies pure elegance ✨⌚️✨
I have smaller wrist. I would love to have reverso and omega aqua terra.
Does Tudor appreciate over time? Specifically the Black Bay Chrono
Great video! Can you create a 3 watch collection(drive/dive/aviation) by using one brand at a time?
Although the JLC Reverso is stunning.
insightful as usual! thanks Teddy😊 no love for Zenith today? 😊
oh wow! thank you😊
Can you do a video over best watch storage?
Great pick.
always a pleasure to see you.
The unlimited setup is amazing
Excellent format. You could go on with a “budget for three (four, five) watch collection” etc. It would turn everyone into happy watch collectors. Thanks.
I would go Ball Engineer III Marvelight 40mm blue dial and Breitling Superocean 42 Kelly Slater orange dial. BOOM!!!!
Teddy can you please make a video on affordable minute repeater watches. Thanks, I really enjoy your content.
Love the deep blue on the Longines GMT!
Please see the Union Glashutte 1893, the small seconds version and white dial 👌😍
Cheers from Portugal! Keep up the good work
For the 5000 I would've switched them around. Oris Aquis and Longines Dolce Vita.
Hi, could you do the same video with women watch combos?
I like this type of videos, a color version for example; green dial watches or black ceramic bezel, etc.
The Reverso Tribute Moon is discontinued now. Glad that I have it in my collection.
Havent seen if you did a review or you mentioned in one of your videos the new Seiko 5 Sports SSK GMT models, and if you didnt what are your thoughts on it?
If I had to thin my collection to just 2 it'd be an easy choice, my most worn are the Seamaster 300 heritage and Willard. Good video thank you 👍🏻👍🏻
I just got a JLC ultra thin moonphase and would like to add a speedy to it as my two piece luxury watch collection =)
