      Hey Teddy, great video! I was wondering if you had any advice on where a new watch collector could look for used watches. They're a good way for me to get a hold of more watches than usual without having to worry too much about depreciation if it doesn't end up being a good fit for me. Are jewelers still good options for the used market? Ebay? Other sites? Thanks for your time.

      hi teddy I have $165 to spend on a watch and I saw an Invicta s1 rally ref. 26618 for $120 and some Swatch watches too for around $100 and also a skeleton stührling watch for around $140 which one do you think would be best teddy 😎

    Hey Teddy, great video as always! One suggestion: Perhaps each persona should have collections for a mid-to-large size wrist (39-44mm size cases) and another collection for a small-to-mid size wrist (35-40mm). There could be some overlap of course.

      Lug to lug is also an important factor as well. The Seiko turtle wears small and it is technically a very large watch

    • @mosytube
      @mosytube 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wristschatz1454
      No doubt lug to lug is a vital factor in how a watch wears. Nevertheless, very few people with wrists smaller than 6.5 inches would wear a watch with a case size of 44mm+ regardless of lug to lug. In any case (no pun intended), Teddy could use discretion when choosing which collection to place those borderline watches into.

    Naturally I didn't look at the rules and went straight to watches from Nomos, Oris & more expensive Hamilton's on your site before coming up with my 5 picks. Spent hours browsing to come up with them & found the parameters of the contest a good exercise in restraint. Also recently another TH-camr featured building a $5000 collection so I had already been thinking about this topic. I normally would be a Check the Boxes kind of collector but this time I identify with the Three Watch Collection. I would go with an Oris Aquis 39.5 on the bracelet for the diver. A Sinn 556i on the bracelet for the everyday & a Stowa Marine Classic 36 with a 6 o'clock sub dial for my dress watch. Probably not a true dress watch but works for me. Thanks for the continued quality content & effective presentation .

  • @drzaius844

    I have an Aqua Terra (white dial) in my almost immediate future. I just can’t decide between 38mm or 41mm. And a Seamaster 300 further down the road. Might be common in Newport Beach, not common in my neighborhood LOL. Thanks for these watch collection series, I absolutely love these.

    • @larsstougaard7097
      @larsstougaard7097 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Love the Baltic design too, but Bark & Jack just reviewed the GMT and said it felt kind of small in 39mm and seemed tall plus the domed sapphire was too domed or gave a distorted view of the dial. Cool watch but not for everybody I guess.

    • @BALTICWatches
      @BALTICWatches 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@larsstougaard7097 It wears almost like a submariner in terms of size. For the the domed sapphire crystal i would say it's more colors and tastes. 😉It implies few distortions like old glass, but it's much more "playable" than a flat glass in that sens. We won't go for any watches with flat glass at the moment. We think that it has less charm.

    Cool video as always, Teddy. Loved the inclusion of the Zodiac (I have that one) as they don't get much love. I completed the form and it was harder than I thought - the $1500 1 watch limit excluded a lot of brands I might have added like Rado and Nomos. It was still a fun exercise, though! Thanks for the opportunity!

    Everytime I look at the Formex Essence, I wonder why I pine for the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra for 4x more $$$. They are very similar watches that serve a very similar purpose. Yes, one's a master chronometer with COSC and METAS certification but if you didn't care about that stuff (or the branding), then the Formex is a very attractive alternative.

    I think you can add 2 types of collectors : the emotional one (buys watches that "speak to him") and the buyer that celebrates milestones. The reasoning behind my proposition is that these 2 types are centered on the buyer and less on the social or the style of the collection.

    Great collections as usual!
    I’ll go for a trio which I dream I have for travelling !
    - A Tudor Black Bay GMT, perfect travel watch and also a diver and strong every day watch.
    - A Hamilton Jazzmaster open heart for both having a nice dress watch and enjoying watching the automatic movement!
    - A g shock de 5600 for my morning workout!
    But for the moment the only watch I have in this collection is the g shock 😅
    Cheers from France !

    I watched all the “collections” videos and really like the fact there is a hipster section. However, it feels like some brands are kinda overlooked despite being absolutely fantastic. For example, there is a tiny Australian brand called Creux Automatiq that makes the highest quality watches I’ve ever seen (omegas I’ve tried feel cheaper and less robust). There’s also REC, that is not easy to find at times, but provides one of the most special watches.

    Persona 5 here (I think)...Or maybe 7... Hopefully one day - new Speedy, and I'm happy to keep my G Shock 5600E. Those two together cover most bases for me. I'm not really a super "dress watch" person, but the Speedy especially with the new bracelet is elegant enough to fit in most situations, and the G shock for any outdoor / messy activities - hikes, gardening, swimming etc. Great vid Teddy

    For me, Casio G-Shock GW-M5610U-1ER, Grand Seiko sbgv007, Tudor Blackbay 58 in blue... I know, 2 quartz in a 3 collection, but it makes sense to me.. G-Shock 5610 is the "end of the world watch" solar powered, atomic watch precise, shock resistant, waterproof... Grand Seiko is the dark horse here, heritage gs44 case at its slimmest with the 9f quartz hi precision movement, handfinished zaratsu polishing, deep black dial with those light shaping faceted applied indices and dauphine hands, strap monster capabilities... And the bb58, vintage submariner looks, contemporary movement specs and build quality, and flies under the radar because it doesn't have a crown on the dial.

    Some nice combos for sure, but most (until you got into the dive category) are just too big for my 6.5-inch wrist, or at least how I like a watch to look and feel. Would be wonderful for you to do something similar for smaller wrists (and larger wrists, etc), with brands like Nomos doing much more for me than ones like FC, that (as nice as their designs and executions are) are simply too big for my tastes (must be the Citizen influence). Still, great choices for larger fellas, some I only wish I could pull off. Thanks for the great content.

    If I'm going Grand Seiko one watch collection at $5K, it's definitely going to be the SBGM211. Classic creme colored dial, can be dressed up or dressed down and touch of color with the blue handed GMT function? That would be the one.

    Love the quality & value Christopher Ward has to offer, the branding however, is just not for me.

      They are certainly a Marmite brand Steve. Having said that I have five....superb quality at their respective prices.

      I dont mind the branding what so ever, i sold my trident c60 to purchase another watch, i ended up buying another c60 months down the row after i kept seeing it in pics and realized i made a big mistake, if you wanna talk about bad Branding FORMEX is the king i feel like they might as well name it prozac lol

    Your reviews tend to favor 40mm watches or smaller. I think most people with 7 inch or larger wrist prefer 42m and above. Can you do a video on wrist sizing for 6, 7, and 8 inch wrists.
