Thank you! I signed up to help sew at the church, and that is the assignment that they gave me. I had no idea what burp cloths even were! You saved me a sleepless night!!
Thank you so much for this video! I'm a beginner sewer and thought making burp cloths would be fun and easy and a great shower gift! Your video was great and looks very helpful!!! :-D
Ordered Terry cloth the other day, can't wait to get it, some flannel and a iron and ironing board and start sewing these. I'm so excited!!! Thanks for the video.
I used part of a terry robe that was my beloved step mothers. I made sure of course, that the area I used was not stained, and, as a bonus it had been washed and dried. This allowed me to deepen the value of the burp cloths for her great grandbaby, and is in the spirit of recycling and quilting in a time honored tradition.
To clarify above comment. I made the burp cloths for my first grandchild. My step mother had passed on and so the Terry Cloth had even more value. If that is of any importance to anyone. They were oohed and ahhed at when the package of them were opened at the baby shower, but then the comment was made by a guest that " there is no better burp cloth than an old cloth diaper." That's life, I suppose. First Grandchild syndrome I am guessing. First you get the expensive and fussy diapers and by the second kid you get real and get Luvs. ... I liked them and it meant something to my daughter, I am guessing. I may question that so I can focus my energies where they are appreciated and not piss her off.
I'm working on a paper for school, and I would like to know how to down the drawnings with the dotted line like your examples. How did you do that. Can I do that in word?. Hope you see this soon. I need help hee hee
Tried one tonight; didn't quite get the opening edges closed on the first run.I made a second stitch row; doesn't look as tidy as yours, but fine. Is there a trick to catching the opening? Thanks.
This is a little late as you posted a year ago. The trick you might have noticed is when she trimmed the fabric with right sides together she left the opening area UN TRIMMED ( or trimmed very little to reduce bulk) this made for a bit more material to turn in after you turn the burp cloth right side out ( after sewing them right sides together) ... this makes more fabric for you to "Catch" with the topside stitch within the burp cloth to sew the opening closed. Hope this helps.

The last few fabrics I used to make baby bibs with I forgot to wash and dry. Would a hot iron be good enough after the bib/burp cloth has been made?
Your terry cloth looks much softer than Joanne Fabric sells. Where did you get yours?
could you make a video of how to do baby bibs by chance?! your burp cloth video was the easiest one for me to understand
I would like to see baby bib video by you also, Better Life Blog. NICELY DONE BURP CLOTH TUTORIAL.
Janelle Brooke
Omg that's so cool
What are the dimensions you are cutting for the burp cloths?
What size is each burp cloth of 8 per yard? Is the yard of terry cloth 35 or 45 inches wide?

O.k.

Sewing machine?
What size is one?
Like the tutorial really beginners..
Could do with out the music ;)
Once you turn it the right side up you don't show how to close the opening before making your 1/2 stitch all the way around.
You just it closed while you top stitch all the way around 😊
