@@athenacxy27 I don't think a guy who fills his home and time with building insect enclosures is going to mind, I mean, half this episode is about him finding a giant wolf spider in his kitchen.
@@athenacxy27 I remember earlier videos on this channel, when he was living in a smaller place, and while filming, he'd just pan over to a giant column of ants traversing his living room, "yeah, in this part of the world, this is just something that happens 🤷"
Okay, my guy, I'm just gonna say it. That theme for Lady Deathstrike was CRAZY. Had some John Williams vibes to it, MAJOR Star Wars "Duel Of The Fates" vibes. It's EPIC
As someone who kept reptiles over 20 years, this series truly has brought back tons of memories. Your videos, narrating, and music selection are all top notch. Ive learned so much! I now feel like one of my elementary students when they walked into my classroom and saw a coffin sized cage with a 7ft. Boa constrictor curled up inside. My wife makes fun of me every Sunday because I am like a kid on Christmas, just waiting for the video to drop. Bravo sir, bravo!

Here's a fun thing for those with a microbiology inclination: Pause around 16:08 and have a good look at those plant leaves. That "grainy" look to the surfaces is not just an exterior texture. It's the actual individual cells that make up the leaf surface. Plant cells can be quite large and are very easy targets for microscopes. In this case, they're so big that simple macro photography is enough to reveal them. AC has some really nice equipment. 🙂 Also, very cool that he has Ghost Ants making off with smaller Mealies. That helps keep their populations under control. Mealies are a frickin' nightmare when they get a foothold in indoor/greenhouse type gardens, and can easily damage and kill your plants. They can be VERY hard to control once they get a population going.
@@karmakimeleon8832 Don't get me started. Too late, I'm started. A few years back I got myself a fairly large grow tent in the feeble thought that if MJ got legalized nationwide I'd like to grow my own indoors. For other reasons I decided that's a bad idea all around, but I still went ahead and turned it into a rather impressive indoor garden. Tomatoes and peppers at first, which were SO good , never tasted anything like that before. Good dirt, happy plants. Then sweet potatoes which grew like mad. Made the huge mistake of bringing just one plant in from outdoors, and with it came whiteflies and mealies. In no time, SWARMING. Lost almost everything very quickly and it was such a war I decided to just quit the whole thing. Was expensive to run the 400w of LED lighting anyway and the bug invasion just absolutely made me hate it. I even had ants that found their way in somehow and were loving the mealies, just like AC's experience. SO upsetting. To this day I won't even consider trying again, totally killed it for me. I took the tent down, got rid of all the plants, and now I just use a single hanging 100w LED unit over a shelf to grow a few babies for the outdoor flowerbeds.
Lady Death Strike's theme did NOT have to go that hard, but like, IT DOES AND IM ALL HERE FOR IT. Petition for a release of her theme on Spotify and/or TH-cam fr.
Did he actually commission an operatic theme for a spider? That's amazing if true, I always assumed all of the music was just bought from somewhere, but if it's custom made that's a great way to spread the love to other artists and ensure its unique. I hate it when I download a game and it's the same music as a TH-cam series, etc.
I had a feeling it was a different Huntsman Spider you found when Lady Deathstrike first went missing. I was like “there’s no way she could’ve gotten pregnant again that quickly. This has to be a different spider.” so the fact that you managed to somehow find a second female huntsman who was pregnant in your house is astounding lol
Not saying this case here but fyi they can drop multiple sacs off one paring and huntsman often do, so "getting pregnant that quickly after" as you say is not a thing. No disrespect....that being said, he did release at least 50 babies in enclosure. Safe to say it's possible one has molted into a Juvie by now, at least that's what the camera seems depict in size difference but we will find out! Have good day everyone!!
Hey if you’re reading this, I’m well aware that you’re currently working on making a second ecosystem tank to connect to your original ecosystem tank so it would be as if two habitats are next to each other and the animals that live in them are able to cross over between the habitats, and I got to say that’s a great idea! While you’re still working on that I have an idea of my own you could do for a video, this is just a suggestion and not an order, but if the last video you upload in the month of May gets 500K likes then you must put two animal carcasses into your original ecosystem tank and see what happens. I say that the animals carcasses should either be lizards or birds and put them in opposite sides of the ecosystem tank but I’ll let you decide. I know this is easier said than done but if you can make bigger and bigger projects then surely you could something fairly simple; you’re always coming up with something to do in a video after all! You’re welcome for the 25$ by the way! 😄😊🤗✌️
I like how you casually showed off your Aviary as if it was nothing and not imported to mention ever again. That looked beautifull. Can we get a tour of that room?
He has multiple other channels where he shows off that stuff, this is in theory still the ant channel so he tries to keep the focus on that. Look for "Mikey Bustos Vlogs" and he shows off the crazy farm he has, bunnies and goats and yes, the birds.
I am at the lowest point in my life right now, and following your channel and this series has helped me more than you can possibly realize. You are nothing short of amazing, way to teach national geographic how it is done.
Man, I’ve watch this guy for years. I want to tell you brother, you live one hell of life in tune with nature. I’ve never been so invested in a bug show. You’ve gotten me through moving states, breaking up, and starting over. Excellent work man. Absolutely amazing.
I’m so stunned by the Lady Deathstrike resurrection storyline. Best twist ever. Edit: I think it’s a male that you caught as a guess… doh…. Ahhhhh!!!! Next episode is going to be a banger like always.
I just wish the story lines were more natural instead of largely fabricated for entertainment purposes. His dog did not kick those doors wide open and nothing escaped. He caught a huntsman spider, placed it on his floor, recorded himself catching it again, and then put it in his vivarium knowing it wasn't Lady Death strike just to create this entire storyline. It's a total bummer when you realize it.
Your observations and knowledge of your ecosystem is vast, educational and incredibly interesting. The fact that you’ve added personality and plots to your creatures lives adds a dimension that no other documentary does quite as well. The time and effort you devote to your subjects is phenomenal and would make Attenborough glow with pride! Your series should be regularly aired on tv to educate all children and instill in them a sense of guardianship for our amazing planet. The creator must look down upon you with fondness for what you do! ❤

After seeing the rainforest vivarium for so long, I've gotten used to the "dirtiness" of it all. Now, looking at the other non-bioactive vivariums, the look so "sanitary". Absolutely no mess other than what ants make. No interference from other creatures. It's a crazy difference.

I came across this channel at like 3 in the morning and I’ve become obsessed. I’ve slowly got less scared of spiders as I got older and always try to get them to safety rather than crush or harm them. Watching this is making me appreciate more of insects and the eco system. Great stuff, man!
Dude, thank you...I know that means nothing to you but if you only knew how freaking miserable my life is right now, this channel is one of the only shinning lights. When I see an upload I genuinely smile which I do very little since my mom and best friend died in July 23. So really, thank you! You’re one of THE BEST channels on TH-cam. ❤
Im so sorry that you're going through such grief. Hope everything gets better for you. Don't know what you may be experiencing in terms of circumstances, but I've gotten a lot of joy and distraction recently from raising "Sea Monkies" (brine shrimp) because they're incredibly cheap, tiny and easy pets. A recycled glass jar 10.5 oz or more, sea salt and brine shrimp eggs off amazon, 1/30 tsp or less of eggs gives you hundreds of little shrimps swimming happily. Nice to watch. They eat powdered spirulina (ebay, $5-$15) (videos aplenty here on yt). Apologies if this idea is ridiculous. ❤ Wishing you happiness, peace.
A lot of folks say the same thing about "Unhhhh." It's just a pair of drag queens talking about random stuff, but the visual gags they add in post-production takes their comedy to the stratosphere 🙌🏾

OMGosh I saw one for the first time crawling across a road & I was sooo confused. I HAD to do research to figure out what in the world I was observing.
Just wanna take the time to really express my appreciation for your work, story(script) crafting and cinematography at display here! I am normally not interested in bugs but your Rainforest Vivarium series is so entertaining that I am really looking forward to watch it! It is really interesting and educational at the same time - I hope you continue to persue this (maybe on a professional level) because you make it so interesting that even uninterested people can enjoy this and effortlessly learn about ecosystem and biology. Your passion really shows in the videos. This is really on the same level as a documentary on geo net wild. Since I used to be a arachnophobic (and at times somehow still am uncomfortable with spiders directly around me but at least I don't freak out anymore) I tried curing myself by watching pictures and videos of birdeaters and tarantulas, so I acquired a little knowledge about spiders - the real spiderfans can probably shed more light on this incident but here is what I think: I am actually not sure if the seemingly dead spider was really a skin of Lady Deathstrike. As you said, if this was a mould of her this should have been a bit more translucent but she was an adult and maybe the skin she shed was thicker and therefore less translucent? As far as I observed from other videos huntsman spiders tend to mould midair hanging from ceilings or trees so this was a bit unusual seeing this laying on the ground- but, it simply could have fallen down due to wind or some bug pulling on the string. Next time I recommend flipping the "body" to see if the carapax was opened on top (this way you don't disturb the cycle of life but can make sure if it is a mould or a dead body). I was suspicious when I saw the empty/fallen in abdomen but again here, she just could have been already eaten out by other creatures and a fallen in abdomen for various reasons is common for the death of a spider. When you watch the skin of an adult spider that spider lovers display they tend to look like the real thing except for their abdomen being wrinkled (not translucent!) - that's why sometimes you see people doing jokes with that when flipping these skins on others to surprised them (terrible jokes btw). As you saw the mould remains of the smaller spider looks actually translucent and an important detail: the spider itself also looks a lot lighter in color as well. That is because the new skin needs to fully harden and therefore darkens after that. When you look at the underside of the smaller spider when it is on full display when she is at the glass front I think you can not see the sex at all yet (the pockets for storing the sperm) - probably because this one is a lot younger than lady death strike. And if spiders mould they grow bigger, not smaller - so, this is probably as you said the small one you put in there as well and the big one is Lady Deathstrike. Which indicates, that probably it was her mould on the ground. The fact that the abdomen somehow looked kind of "juicy" might be due to the high humidity in the vivarium which did not cause it to wrinkle so much and since it was almost immediatly composted by the other creatures I think it simply did not seem to be something like a skin. Also maybe a factor: She protected the egg sack and did not eat in that time. When spiders prepare to mould they do not eat at all for at least 2 weeks or much longer. This is natural and needs to be done by the spider in order to slim up and be able slip out of the old skin safely. That also the reason why she seemingly looks smaller cause the fasting lets her abdomen shrink which is necessary for her successful moulding but her span of legs increased making her in fact bigger. Once she feasts again her abdomen will be bigger than ever :) I hope my theory is likely - otherwise, spider lovers, please kindly point out my wrong points. :)

Also, very cool that he has Ghost Ants making off with smaller Mealies. That helps keep their populations under control. Mealies are a frickin' nightmare when they get a foothold in indoor/greenhouse type gardens, and can easily damage and kill your plants. They can be VERY hard to control once they get a population going.
That's very cool thanks for sharing
Thanks for the info. Good to know.
They got on some of my pothos and I couldn’t have pothos anywhere in the house for *years*
@@karmakimeleon8832 Don't get me started.

@@thesinfulyogini2073 EXACTLY
Did he actually commission an operatic theme for a spider? That's amazing if true, I always assumed all of the music was just bought from somewhere, but if it's custom made that's a great way to spread the love to other artists and ensure its unique. I hate it when I download a game and it's the same music as a TH-cam series, etc.
@@AlexLyman-zb4jt Surely there isnt a random operatic group making songs about a completely unrelated Lady Death Strike. Surely???
@@LMcAwesome maybe, most of the other animal names are pop culture references, maybe we just don't get the lady deathstrike one lol
At least the gene pool is going to be diverse enough for a good while
Hes blessed he caught it and put it in a tank. Imagine 200 baby huntsman loose in your house.
@@donikebab86 oh god no, one spider scares me enough in my house, let alone 200
I thinks she molted
Wow! Great suggestion. I'll see what I can do! Thank you! 🙏

This is just getting better and better and that sugar glider family looks adorable
Hopefully he builds them an epic natural environment enclosure 🤞🤞

Once she feasts again her abdomen will be bigger than ever :)
I hope my theory is likely - otherwise, spider lovers, please kindly point out my wrong points. :)
this channel has single handedly turned me into a insect lover. At my job anytime soneone sees a cricket or small bug, they call me to grab it and release it outside rather than killing it! They are so fascinating !
