@@darcieclements4880 What do you thinks inside? My guess is its a snake of some sort. I hope so at least that would be very cool. I want a snake myself one day
Perhaps it would be safest to bury the egg in Pandoran soil, but in a smaller container and not in the tank. Just in case it's still alive. Seeing as Snap has avoided detection until now, whatever hatches from the egg could do the same for quite some time, which could be a potential safety hazard for you. Perhaps it might also be a good time to dig it up and do the light test again, to be sure it's dead or not. But seeing as it changed and did not mold, I would assume it's still alive.
Imagine it's a freaking cobra too I'd literally pee myself if that happened to me. I aint even afraid of snakes but venomous ones especially cobras scare me
My thoughts exactly re-candle it seems if there's any change in the egg. It's of course possible gas building up in the egg could have pushed the dent out and causing the additional firmness but that egg looked far too healthy for that to be happening.
Like I said I would have given it 5 days before assuming it was dead. That being said I don't know if you should leave it inside Pandora because if it ends up being one of those poisonous cobras youre going to be in for quite a surprise. It should be checked with light and if there is an embryo developing, then it should be isolated in similar conditions to Pandora until it hatched. For your safety if nothing else.

If you need to keep the ant population under control, which might damage the ecosystem, you could introduce two animals from the Philippines: the first would be Calamaria gervaisi , which feeds primarily on insects, especially ants and their larvae. The second animal could be a frog from the Kaloula genus, a group of frogs that live in the undergrowth and feed on insects they find there, including many ants. I hope this advice helps with your fantastic project!
yeah I think introducing Calamaria gervaisi and Kaloula frogs could be an effective way to manage the ant population without disrupting the ecosystem too much
Calamaria gervaisii is NOT the red-headed snake. Don't know where you get that from, especially since it does not have a red head. It's called the Philippine Dwarf snake or Gervais' worm snake. A worm snake would be cool but it could decimate the colonies of ants and termites he wants in there so he'd have to watch that. Same with the frogs. He should offer it an earthworm or two now and then. I can just see him doing that. Rofl!

To those that might think the egg was planted, honestly even if that was the case id hope you still enjoy the series, at the end of the day whether its fake or real this man puts real passion into his crafts, not only are the scenery and camera shots so far in this world that it seems out of it, but his story telling and narrative work are top notch, not to mention the care and attention to detail he puts into taking care of all the animals under his care. I mean, even if he planted a new egg, that still shows his passion for making a good story, because I mean, lets be real, not a single soul wouldnt want that egg to secretly be alive, and we all want to see what comes of it, even if whatever comes out has the be dragged out of the ecosystem...... Congrats AC, Pantdora is my favorite anime 0_0 XD

As Montgomery Burns would say.. It was Eggggg-cellent!!!
I believe the small red beetle may be in the subfamily Piestinae of the Staphylinidae family of beetles, also known as rove beetles. One that looks very close to that beetle in particular was observed in the Phllipines back in September, though I wouldn't have a clue as for the specific species. It doesn't look quite the same as Americanum, but it does look like the thus-far unidentified species located last month.
@@mixofreak agreed! It looks like a Rove Beetle from the Staphyllinidae family. Also that appendage coming out the rear is most likely the pygidial gland--its defensive and can release chemicals to protect it. I’ve seen some weevil guesses but, “no snout, rules it out”.
I agree that at the very least it resembles a rove beetle but I mostly here to say, yeah that's probably a parasite. I'm actually more curious about what type of parasite that is because it's an interesting features somewhat reminiscent of anchor worms that affect fish but I've not seen something like that in a beetle before. I'm not sure if that beetle is actually mature yet or not It could be almost mature or it could be a species with heavily reduced wings. Even for a rove beetle that's some pretty hefty reduction if it's mature and boy what a little one. Oh man, What am I saying I've been up to late of course it's an adult beetle, Beatles have complete metamorphosis. Well you're okay so multiple years of entomology studies and yeah that just happened, time for bed...

As I said in a community post before, I've seen people who raise all sorts of reptiles from eggs have luck with eggs that looked like yours reviving themselves. The right humidity can help the dent come back out and the vivarium definitely has some good humidity. Especially if the egg is newly laid, which also would explain why there were no veins in it when you candled it. I'm pretty sure it'll hatch. You should have pulled it out and candled it again. Nature always finds a way to thrive, and eggs are no different if given the chance and the right conditions
Yes, the egg was dented bc it was dehydrated. Once they get humidity the dents pop back out. I was very confident the egg was viable when he put it in Pantdora.

I hope that if the egg hatches, whatever comes out doesn't cause a problem for Pantdora. Are you going to re-attach the vines to reconnect the two ecosystems?
Snap's injury looks like it could be Godzilla. I bet skinks are more alert than Godzilla's usual prey and a shallow (compared to the mouth doing the damage) scrape on the top of its body like that could've come from Snap twisting aaaalmost far away from the tip of Godzilla's mouth, then the tail might've gone just from the stress and not even a bite.
It does line up pretty well for a bite mark. I think it's safe to say that poor Snap here was chomped. He's a smarter sun skink for it, sure.. but somebody needs a new home 🐲👀

I doubt that any mammals small enough to live in there would thrive. Plus he'd need to have at least a pair, if not more, depending on the species. Reptiles, amphibians and arthropods are much simpler than mammals to let to live without extra care.

I agree the egg could've been freshly laid and still under developed when he found it hence why there was no fetus
Yall. He knows what it is lol. He's telling us it's a mystery.

It would be so fun if he's incubating that snake already and doesn't even know it.
@@ladykoiwolfe hahahahaha yes that would be fun😂
yeah I think introducing Calamaria gervaisi and Kaloula frogs could be an effective way to manage the ant population without disrupting the ecosystem too much
Calamaria gervaisii is NOT the red-headed snake. Rofl!
@@ladykoiwolfe Not a chance. That egg is way too big for a worm snake baby. Heck, a whole clutch of worm snake eggs probably wouldn't be that big. lol

I've never been so excited to watch a TH-cam video! What's up AC FAMILY 💚
Take the mystery egg out and incubate it in a seperate container, if it's something too dangerous to keep in Pantdora, it'd be easier if you don't have to chase it around to remove it later.

So glad you uploaded! I had a feeling there was more than one sun skink this whole time! I'm rooting for Snap!! I know this sounds crazy, but I was stressing and thought of Pantdora many times while you were away lol.. Just love this series so much. And I really loved this episode.
It doesn't look quite the same as Americanum, but it does look like the thus-far unidentified species located last month.
primitive weevil
@@jacksonvreal_904 no visible snout, which is why I thought it unlikely, and more likely to be some species of Piestinae.

I would suggest keeping the egg inside of pandtora and waiting for it to hatch,if it actually does,in any case it wouldn’t be an invasive species and would just follow the ecosystem’s natural cycle…in case things do get out of hand you can always remove the animal..plus it could even risk being hunted down by Godzilla or some other animal in the tank🙂
Love your videos,greetings from Italy🙌🏻💚🇮🇹
After weeks of no update from Pantdora, I definitely see the difference. Pantdora looks a lot more forestry now! With you gone for 18 days, definitely tested the vivarium and can conclude that it is a self sustaining ecosystem on its own. 🎉
I hope Snap fully heals and survives.
You do realize he has a team of staff members maintaining his home and ecosystems right?
@@McP1mpin Source? He's been pretty transparent about any involvement by his housekeeper (who feeds and waters his pets while he's away) and the craftsmen he hired to build the house and the tanks. Those are very different things than having a team of staff members maintaining home and ecosystem, though.
I hope the egg is a sailfin dragon. Those look so cool. I am picturing you waking up to find a cobra in the vivarium one day though. Godzilla looked like he missed you he was so happy you were back.
The egg is whatever he chose to put in there to replace the dead one for dramatic purposes.
@@McP1mpin since you're spamming the exact same comment everywhere, how about some proof?
@@PabloEdvardo he thinks Mikey fakes the videos because of the "oops I left the doors open during a fire ant flight" video. Nature always finds a way to thrive, and eggs are no different if given the chance and the right conditions
also, if it was dead, at this point you'd be able to smell it across the room.
Life finds a way? I feel like I've heard that somewhere before
Yes, the egg was dented bc it was dehydrated. Once they get humidity the dents pop back out. I was very confident the egg was viable when he put it in Pantdora.

The suspense of the mystery egg is killing meeeee! :OOOO
