  • The Mercedes EQ range has been growing quite a bit but until now they have been chiefly reworking the petrol-powered cars. Now the EQ range is really taking centre stage and it begins with the EQE which is the best of the best currently on sale

    Great video as usual ! Very nice car indeed, the bonnet not opening would concern me a little, it says something about the internal workings and packaging that there’s is no storage space.

    Great video and I enjoyed your enthusiasm. I will certainly give it a look as the range is fantastic. I was also thinking of a Buzz from a totally different angle and you are not long getting towards 90k if you want extras (like a steering wheel 😊). It has nothing like the EQS range and the dealer mailed me to say Buzz delivery earliest 2024, it looks like.

    Great review as always, that is a company car if ever I saw one, hopefully the breakthrough in battery technology will filter down now to lower model's, would it be possible to home charge overnight?

    Entertaining and to the point as ever. Fab car. Yes the legacy counter attack is well underway.
    How does one jump start it should the 12v ever drain or have they thought of that?
    Are the steering wheel controls physical buttons or touch/haptic?
    Is there a dual motor version?
    What is the 0-100kph?
    What HP?
    Does the adaptive cruise control include lane centre following?
    I can just imagine that car with cream leather and walnut dashboard, slobber.
    So you are a fan then for sure?🙂

    Like you, I LOVE this car but ended up buying an EQB because of 3 reasons: the EQB was much less money, the EQE was “too luxurious “ for me (I am messy) and was worried that I would be too hard on it and we wanted a metal roof for kayaks so we wouldn’t risk damaging. I came from a Tesla and the lack of access to the bonnet doesn’t bother me. Thanks for the video, still makes me want to buy one😂😂

    I am waiting for delivery of my new EQE and i'm very excited!! I walked into the dealership to order the new C Class but the salesman gently asked if id consider electric. I have always dismissed electric cars as too new technology and i would buy one in about 10 years when the tech had moved on and more advanced and out of it's infancy. But I was won over by this EQE and walked out of there having a complete change of mind and ordering one! A lot of reviewers say this is a very ugly car but i think it's stunning especially in Obsidian Black.
    First video ive ever watched by this guy and I love his vibe and energy and good nature. Brilliantly video!

    No question its a great car and I know it’s not a direct replacement for the ICE versions but aesthetically its just lacking something when you put it against an E Class.

    i've been shopping for an EV for a few months now, and I am stuck. I find my self cross shopping between a Model Y, Chevy Bolt (would be 2nd vehicle), and a Mercedes EQE SUV which i "could afford" but feel guilty buying.... I feel like it's the best car i've been privileged to do see...

    Great Car Bob , 🚗 👌 but there ain't to many people out there with 89 to 105 thousand euro to play around with , so maybe when it's 10 years old the common people may be able to get one , till then all the othere brands with EVS between 40 to 55 grand will be the main stay of EV motoring for a long time , but as usual a great review 👍 😀

    Beautiful car, however the non opening bonnet would put me off, for no reason? The old Audi A2 was the same. The common man is being left behind with the new car prices.
    Love Bob's enthusiasm for these cars. Also that he will call out the faults.

      Yes there are engineering reasons for doing it - you can open it easy yourself. But you don´t need to. Inside is a full HEPA filter which gives you the cleanest interior air in the industry. The clam shell design reduces the drag a little bit too. I have a car with a frunk and without - hardly use a frunk ever, I guess thats the thinking.

    Great car no doubt but this is just beyond the reach of almost everyone. It’s an €89000 car when most people are struggling to pay their electricity bills . The peoples wagon this is not and the looks are grotesque

    that`s 89 grand for the tree-hugging equivalent of an E-class...
    that`s 190.000 Deutsch-Mark minus inflation....entry-level.
    for an E-CLASS.
    i rest my case.
    from germany.
    ps- entry level for an E-class 20 years ago was 27k €€€€€€€€.

  • @Dave_Stafford

    Obviously the bonnet will not be an issue in itself but it's the mindset that bothers me. Consumers have a right to repair and becomes more important as the car ages. When a car manufacturer actively works against this, it will encourage premature recycling. (Manufacturer 1: Environment 0)

  • @ram64man
    @ram64man ปีที่แล้ว

    The only reason is they want to limit who can change its air filters and fluids for cooling than use a electric certified 3rd party mechanic, than pay the premium Mercedes’. The excuse Mercedes use for not opening the bonnet battery off gassing is a safety issue, if that was the case then what is that the big whole in the floor used for ventilation and motor/wheel movements disperse it. And why fit the filter that feeds the cabin if it was a health risk. Just an excuse to be different and make money, oh buy the way the gas strut mount still exist if you look meaning it was deliberately changed after it was designed

    Lovely car. Great review. If I own it then I should be allowed to access any part of the car. I don't want any manufacturer telling me what I can or can't access. Its my risk not there's. It big companies taking away our rights.

    For God's sake 80 grand for a big battery and two big tablets ? Seriously ? This is what the car industry big shift is all about ? Those screens are just thrown in there, no integration with the dashboard no nothing. I guess it is all about the marketing these day not so much for the inovation. Look at the latest iphone: same sh*t, different package.

    90k ……😳😳😳. I’m sorry but , the car could be 10K , I still would be disappointed , it’s the charging infrastructure that is letting them down….I’m not convinced with EV, , hydrogen fuel cell hybrid cars will be the future…..👍🇮🇲

    • @Hyrppa95
      @Hyrppa95 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hydrogen would be fine if you are willing to pay three times as much for the fuel. Plus maintenance is lot more expensive than an EV and the prices are not much different either.
