It's one of my favorite styles! And yes, it can be quite different, we even have different names for a lot of the poses! If you're interested I have a little video that explains some of the key benefits of Yin here: th-cam.com/video/5SFLr1wHuAA/w-d-xo.html
Watched and worked with 4 hip videos today, while waiting to see a sports injury therapist. Yesterday a couple ovideos help ease the acute nature of the pain in my left hip, so here is hoping. Thank you.
I’ve started going through the 10 day challenge again while waiting for your new videos! This routine is a perfect way to start my week! Feeling calmer and looser now! Thanks Joëlle 🙏🏼
Fabulous! I started with my hips super tight today after doing so much work in my house. This practice revived me. Thank you so much for taking time to make such helpful classes. 😀
It was hard for me not to chuckle a bit with the music choice. I don't think of banjo music and yin yoga! ;-) I was picturing the scene in "Deliverance", with the guys on the porch playing banjos while the entire family was out in the muddy yard doing yin yoga together to start their day! LOL Sorry, I'm a musician and can't help but tune into music when it's playing... Great session though! Yin yoga is by far my favorite practice. Thank you!
Glad you loved it! I'm afraid I don't keep track of which music I use for which video but if you open the description box and scroll to the bottom TH-cam usually has it listed automatically 😉
Cramps are so frustrating! Typically they happen because of neural confusion, where the body just isn't quite sure what to do because it's not used to something. So as weird as this might sound, Cramps can be "good" because they prove the body is learning something new! That said, in the beginning I recommend backing off when you see fit, perhaps bending the knee of the extended leg to lessen the angle and seeing if that's more comfortable. I hope that helps!
Thank you. Bending for a time and then straightening is helpful. I am hopeful that if I work through your hip videos, I will finally get relief from hip pain. I have been treated for SI joint dysfunction, but still feel an issue in my left hip. The stretches feel good, so I remain hopeful...
I'm confused in the first minute :( I can't get my leg out like that with the inner arch of the foot on the floor, unless that hip/upper leg is totally off the floor. What should I do in that circumstance?
Thanks for joining me Eva! My email is listed on my channel page, though for general questions you are always welcome to simply post a comment on one of my videos 😊

It can be nice to slide a pillow underneath the glutes to lift yourself up - props are great for deep stretch poses! I hope that helps
