My dad has owned one of these since 2004 and it’s still in a great condition! It’s fast for a wagon and I like it coz of the sound of the Subie rumble.
Ali Toroganan from what I’m aware US models only got the 3.9 FD MY02-05 and 3.7 FD for MY06-07. For 2008+ they went back to a 3.9 with a bigger first gear. Jdm wrx’s had the 4.11
@noxxi knox what generation are you looking at buying? I have driven all generations of Forester, and in my opinion the SGs were the last ones that drove more like a crossover should, with that nice combination of car/suv handling. The SH and SJ generation feel much more SUV like, but of course the low center of gravity still gives it decent handling for what it is. The newest Foresters, the SKs, have actually improved on the handling a noticeable amount over the previous two generations. The actually feel quite nimble on the road for actually being the largest Foresters to date. I should also note here, the Forester XTs (at least in the SG gen, but I think pretty well all gens) don't actually have ANY handling improvements over the naturally aspirated Foresters of the same generation. When I bought my 04 FXT it had completely stock handling, felt identical to my 06 na Forester, but made around 300whp, so the first bunch of things I did was install a stiffer rear sway bar (from an 04 STi), lowering springs (Swift), and some Konigs with 235/50R17s. Currently installing an STi rack as well to help even more. Sorry for the long answer, but I tried to give some info to suit a variety of needs. 😂
i got my 1998 gc8 4 weeks ago for 4250 and as soon as i test drove it i was sold it drove like a normal daily down low and was responsive on boost and quick. mine was swapped with an sti ej207 so it has lots of room to add more boost but its perfect as it is can highly recommend a Subaru if you want a daily sports car
Hi Clay i brought a SF5 forester GT Turbo 2001 automatic - super fun as bits wore out i put white line - and did brakes 4 pot front 2 pot rear vented ej207RA spec C sti JDM short block iag alloy sump kit - brian crower valves springs bronze guides ! std cams exhaust td04 - 3 inch from turbo mrt turbo polished s/s - $40,000 so far ! but there is more soon ! thank`s Clay good but more cars enough with junk !

It’s the gearing that makes it insane compared to your average wrx. 4.44FD compared to a 3.9 or 3.7 in the MY06-07. Forester XT is a sleeper 👌
Wow! No wonder, that makes so much sense! Love how Subaru secretly over engineered it😍
2002 rexxys onwards got the same short ratio

my friends 2002 forester (standard) with like 200k miles drives so fucking well. shit accelerates so fast and handles so well.
In 2013 mate they've got rid of the bonnet scoop on the XT and dropped from a 2.5 to 2.0 litre... I loved the bonnet scoop of my older 98 wrx
I put a scoop on my 2016 XT because they look good.
