I saw this movie fifteen years ago and yelled at it the entire time. I yelled at it again even while watching this. It’s not the worst movie I’ve ever seen in my life, but it’s up there

Ya know, I just discovered this channel, been watching GSP so long how did I not realize this is a thing?
I just watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid for the first time after I saw how incredible Robert Redford was in The Old Man & The Gun. Both films amazed me and I really respect Redford now.
Now that is a song I haven't heard in a long time.
Man, I think it's been a couple years at least since I last watched a basement episode. Glad to see ya'll are still doing well and continuing though :)

1:11 I don't know why people get mad at actors for always playing a similar type of character. I had a discussion with my friend about this subject last year in Newspaper class. We were talking about the unreleased Star Wars Han Solo spin off movie and I mentioned how I was excited to see it because Woody Harrelson was going to be in it. My friend said "Yeah. But it's Woody Harrelson, so we know he's going to just play the Drunk Weirdo like he always does." And I said "Yeah. Because he's the best at being the Drunk Weirdo. Nobody can act like a Drunk Weirdo better than Woody Harrelson."

I just realized that this movie plot is parodied in the Woody Harrelson movie “Kingpin”. Some rich tycoon pays Woody Harrelson and Randy Quaid money to either sleep together or one of them sleep with the rich tycoon, and they just so happen to be in Las Vegas too.

Seen it, Suspiria 2018? I am obsessed with this movie as I have never been before. I’ve watched it at least 10 times so far and always experience something new. The environment it creates sucks you in so completely. The theme of authentic women empowerment without sexualization (read Wonder Woman) is something I haven’t seen so well portrayed in any movie so far. And the score by Thom Yorke is so achingly beautiful. I will never not be obsessed with this movie.
Oh man. If this month is somewhat romantic you all have to see Napoleon Dynamite. It espouses the lowercase L love that binds misfits together and is one of my personal favorites. Who doesn't love an underdog?
I just watched this movie again a few days ago, after seeing it for the first time when I was in my mid-teens. I wanted to see if I had a different opinion of it after having been married for 10 years. I Look forward to your take on it!

If I remember The Wire correctly, when you throw, you can bet what's going to roll and other people can bet whether you're going to win the roll.
Typically the better the movie the worse the episode (Bedazzled, Catch-22, Yellow Submarine). That's why this was one of their best.

0:43 - I fully agree that the academy doesn't properly use their lifetime achievement awards and wouldn't be at all surprise if 96 percent of the Oscar voters even know what lifetime achievement award means or that those even exist to begin with.
So what are your thoughts on Black Panther? In particular, did it deserve to be nominated for Best Picture without any nominations for acting, writing, or directing?
It’s overrated as hell. The only reason that it got nominated was because of the urban audience it drew.

If you enjoy gambling even a little, then learn how to play craps Matt. Winning streaks do happen, just like in the movies (because 7 is the most likely number to come up), and everybody else gambling at the table does win money if the "shooter" rolls 7 or 11 on each of their first rolls. Anyway, thanks for the show, always great.

I don't think that the academy will give the best actor award to a British guy playing an old, white and fat historical figure two years in a row. Rami Malek will get it, I think.
I have never seen Indecent Proposal. I have never wanted to see Indecent Proposal. It seems impossible, but somehow this review made me even less interested in seeing. The only interesting thing about this movie is a joke I remember a comedian making when it came out: "Sleep with Robert Redford for a million dollars? I don't know. I don't think I can come up a million dollars."

Black Panther had a compelling villain and a strong message. What it DIDN'T have was a unique plot. It was bland and predictable and ended with a big ugly CGI mess. Definitely not deserving of an Oscar nod, but it isn't really about the actual movie, it's about the relevance so congrats to them
A star was born was painfully average and far to long. First movie I walked out of. Waste of my 8 bucks. It started out okay. The music was good then it just. Didn't know when to stop.

I didn't think this movie was this poorly received.
The concept/premise IS the problem with this movie. All the characters are unlikable. I don't care what happens to any of them. Rich guy is an asshole for making the proposal. Architect and wife are assholes for accepting. End of movie.
this is probs the worst episode of this show. somewhere between the choice of film, and Matt's 1-shot having the wrong focus. it's ok to use auto...just to get a baseline of settings. just go back into the frame and make sure before recording and make manual adjustments. i don't blame anyone (especially the wonderful back-catalog of proof of compedence).....but daamn. badbadnotgood.
also the movie was just so bland and terrible. not terrible in a Tough Guys Don't Dance or Mac And ME....but more like Love Story or Girl Can't Help It
