"It's ok that the moon cried right? ... I'd cry too if I was hit by a rocket." What a beautiful emotionally aware sentiment to teach your son. Boys should learn from their fathers that it's ok to show emotions.

Scene it! I very much loved it, and been makin fry bread ever since! Personally a fan of traveling adventure movies , especially ones that make you feel good about dark realities. Idk too much about the director other than he is also native, but man, I loved every shot in the movie, it takes real skill to make an automobile that can only drive reverse to continue to move the story forward. I also read the book 📖 .. jk idk if there's a book.

In honor of Rutger Hauer’s passing, might I suggest Paul Verhoeven’s 1985 historical adventure film Flesh + Blood. It’s a tough watch due to some questionable morality and problematic themes, but this is intended as Verhoeven is going for realism in this fantasy film. Its morality is not supposed to be black and white, nor is it trying to be lighthearted fun. I’d love to hear you guys give your take on this cult classic!

Great episode guys (as always!) Just wondered if either of you had ever seen the 1998 film, The Avengers? It's a personal favourite of mine and, if it is as yet unseen, I think it would be perfect for your show--it's basically James Bond meets Alice in Wonderland. Also, I graduated from university recently and your show helped me through the tough final months of my degree, so a very big thank you for all your work!

also Matt, i couldn't disagree with you more about interstellar. As someone who has 2 degrees in the sciences, and has read up on a lot of the ideas behind the movie, it is actually pretty strong and what the movie so strong. they had physicists advising throughout and got everything scientifically accurate to the extent possible, and the ideas which science is still trying to unravel were portrayed according to prominent theories in quantum physics.

Downsizing was marketed so weird. They made it all about them being shrunk and all the sort of wacky hijinks that were supposed to ensue but it was really a drama about a guy ending a lousy marriage, finding love and purpose in life. The being shrunk stuff was almost irrelevant to the story.

Hey there folks! Just when I think I've at least heard of most major horror motion pictures from the past few decades, you guys hit me with one that's never crossed my path. Even if it doesn't seem like essential viewing, I'm glad I could watch you guys watch it.
Where horror is concerned, I'm curious if either or both of you have seen Robert Wise's 1963 film The Haunting. Matt's favorite haunted house may be the Overlook Hotel, but have to say mine is Hill House. It's an amazing, subtle, psychological film that I've gone back to over and over, ever since I was a kid, and it's never let me down. If you've seen it I'd love to hear your thoughts, and if you haven't I think it would make for a great October episode!

Okay, first, Lorenzo is adorable. How old is he now, 2? Seems like he was just born yesterday, but then, that's probably because I just started watching your videos about a year or so ago, and then watched them all in order until I was caught up.
Second...SQUEEEEEE! You read my letter! We told our daughter to listen carefully to the end of this one because there was a "surprise". When you gave her the thumb kiss she was so happy and was dancing around going "I got a thumb kiss, I got a thumb kiss". Thanks for making her evening.
Steve Railsback seems like one of those guys who was all over the place back in the 70's and 80's, then disappeared. Kinda like Timothy Bottoms, but in his case I'm not sure why.

Hey Matt and Craig. I have a question for you guys. Do you ever look for new movies to watch at the thrift store or library? You can sometimes find some interesting films that you may've not heard about otherwise. I was recently at my local library to return a movie and as I was browsing through the video section I found a movie that caught my eye.
It was a 1967 spy comedy film called Caprice starring Doris Day (may she rest in peace) and Richard Harris. The Film's Premise about an industrial spy recovering a lost formula for a hair spray that keeps hair in place even when wet sounded like just the right amount of silly to me. But the real interesting part came when I researched the movie's backstory. Day's husband/manager Martin Milcher signed her up for Caprice without her knowledge and much to her disappointment as she had already read the script and thought it was terrible. She managed to make the best of a bad situation by commissioning a rewrite of the script to add more slapstick, satire, and adventure elements. Although Caprice was initially a critical and box office failure, it's gained a cult following in recent years due to Day's changes and the film's Mod visual style.
I almost checked it out but then I thought "I wonder what Matt and Craig may have to say about this movie." So what do you guys think? Are you willing to give Caprice a chance? I'd like to hear if you think that Day managed to save the film or if even she couldn't fix what was already broken.

  • @Razamataz420

Haven't checked the comments but I let some time go by to point out that the male lead in this might have been a good addition in the 80's movie "Armed and Dangerous" with John Candy and Eugene Levy if only for a few scenes. A complete over the top performance but fits in perfectly for the moment in which he is needed for the plot.
