love this content. this has encouraged me to get back out on the trails. i used to love running over the ulster way above Ballygally. Ill have to get up their and see if i remember anything.
Not sad at all, good for you! I had to quit running in my late twenties because of injuries due to bad form. I learned proper form in my late thirties and started over from scratch. Now I'm in my early fifties and have never loved it more.
As someone who needs to improve his health, I have been enjoying a 6km walk up hill to my local viewpoint and back down again, three times a week. I noticed recently that I have plateaued a little, so this video sprang to mind, and in particular tip #2. As a result I have lowered my average trip time from 1 hrs 15 to around 1 hrs and 7 minutes, with a target of eventually breaking the hour barrier. I feel much better for the increased exercise and can't thank Stephen enough for this simple but effective tip. Keep up the great work Stephen 👌
Another great video thank you. The tips for beginners are awesome, it's far too easy to get caught up in complicated plans. Hope to be able to run again soon. And then I will be off to the Peak District ❤
Tip 3 was the first thing that sprang to mind as I started watching the video Stephen. And you couldn't have picked a nicer place for your run. I'm guessing, like me, a flapping hood on a jacket drives you round the bend, hence you have tucked it away, initially thought you had taken the scissors to your jacket. I had to check my photo album before, as I thought Ilam was a place I stopped once as there was a sign advertising a "Hedgehog Rolling" competition. I want far wrong, that's at Grindon, about 5 miles north west, I had ridden through Ilam on the way. About 500m of climb in the first 10 miles. Can't beat the Peaks for running and cycling. And having googled it, they dont actually use real hedgehogs. Large pine cones dressed up. I did think at the time that it was a bit of a cruel sport! Keep them coming, Your Stena Plus account must be doing well 😃
I've been looking over my left shoulder a few times now, with my headphones on it sounds like you're sat breathing somewhat heavily, but ever so quietly, into my ear
Love that part of the Peak District, I was staying in Biggin last weekend and walked Biggindale and part of Dovedale. The NHS/BBC Couch to 5K app really helped get me back into running. I liked the structure and coaching advice it gave me. I agree, going somewhere beautiful really does help. Great video. Glad you're enjoying running once again.
My first time in that area, incredible place. Wish I'd had more time to do a longer run. Couch to 5k is a fantastic program. it's basically a more scheduled version of the method I was talking about here
I always say, even if it only ever becomes two 30 minute runs a week, it'll be the best thing you've ever done. If you're thinking about it, do it. You WILL NOT regret it. Just build up slowly.
@@runwithstevetoday ❤ I'm 47 and I've been trail running for over 3 years now, and I was as far detached from 'being a runner' as the next person. Did Couch to 5k and have never looked back. I could step out the front door right now and run a half, and double it if I'm really feeling like it. I'm not one to be proud of my own achievements, but with running it's a different story. It is life changing. 🏃🌲😍✌
For that location tip, tracks are awful. Those are for walking and talking with a friend or specialty training. Running in the woods is nice if you hate the sun and heat like me. 😂

Not stalking ya, but enjoying your experiences twice more! I enjoyed trail running for a bit. Looking forward to seeing this channel grow as well.
Thank You ! I only learned how to start running correctly at the age of 43. And it is very sad...

Hedgehog rolling😂 yeah I hate a flappy hood, fold it over before I put the jacket on

Love the jacket transition!
Thanks! Was very pleased how well that came out
That was great Stephen!
Running in the countryside/hills/mountains is definitely a motivation booster.
Thanks!

Don forget closing the fens after your self
Spring loaded gates
'I prefer soy milk myself... Actually, I don't - soy milk is terrible.'

'Hello... What's the craic?'
🤣
thought I was getting trampled for sure, but then remembered these English cows probably don't understand me

Yeah forest fire roads are probably best outdoors place to start. Mountain trails a bit rough underfoot to start
My dog loves the new channel, he's getting high value runs. However my knees .......
🤣 sorry about your knees!
At least the title isn’t running on a firing range
I don't think titles can run
