Oh the envy, it did snow for a couple of days in my area but it didn’t stick past morning sadly. Beautiful run 🤩❄️ and congrats on the 100k!!! (Also think a re-ignition of your photography would be welcome too)
More fun from Steve. Thanks for that. Been ages since I've been up at Tardree forest in the snow. Last time I was there, a bloke came past on snow skis being towed by a Landrover discovery. They had a sort of "young farmer vibe" going on.
Aw it looks like Narnia! Beautiful! We’ve just started hiking / walking again and posting content on our channel 🙏🏻 I did the WHW in my 20’s as a solo traveller (made many trail buddies) and now my boy is in his teens we are rediscovering my love of adventures together 🙏🏻 love your content ❤
Depends on the snow! Fresh stuff like you were running in is great and easy to break trail, but still tiring yet lots of fun. More consolidated snow, especially in the mountains, is ball-breaking work; breaking through fairly deep snow with a crust also destroys your shins! Wind scoured snow that's nice and firm for spikes is lovely and satisfying to run across. Waist deep snow just has me swearing and questioning my life choices :D
Virgin snow is great to run in, I love it, better than fine sand which gets everywhere and is super abrasive. What's not so good is running the day after when the temperature has solidified all the footprints and turned it into an ankle breaking landscape. It was cold that same day over here, Tesco carpark in Welshpool was an actual ice rink. What trainers were you wearing there Stephen?
Oh also slipped at the bottom of the hill I live on, main footpath between the two half of town so lots of witnesses! Smacked my arm, half of it went white at a very sharp line as did the rest of me so we thought it was broken. Called an ambulance as couldn’t move without sliding, told them not to try and drive it up which they did, it got stuck and had to wait for a 4x4 to come pull us out 🤦♀️ I now own 3 different levels of crampon aggressiveness as I still live halfway up what is known as b***h 😂
Yep love running in snow esp virgin snow I use snow chains that I can put over shoes to stop me falling but have gone splat off bike loads of time now have soft body armour to save aching like fu*k when I hit the deck 😮
I never did like running, but, since going barefoot and slowly sorting out my somewhat self inflicted chinese foot torture, I've found myself willing to dabble at times. Still don't love it. I want to though. I want to run at soft dry cushioning mossy forest floors, with a cool breeze coming in from the ocean. It happened once, and had I not been such a lazy bastard I'm sure it would've also felt amazing. Regarding the snow, I love your childish wonder! I feel the same, on the good days 🙃 Because at 05:30 on any random weekday morning, at -22c, and the the snow wall from the plow last night has frozen your vehicle into place, you certainly don't love that either, even less than running. Then you realize the bastard knocked your side view mirror off as well! Bastards! 😆
Love running in snow and miss it so much.
The snow looks amazing and yes I do enjoy once or twice a year to run in the snow, something magical about it!
Fresh snow is the most fun to run in, as long as it's not too deep and you have the right gear!
Yup! Barefoot in waist deep snow is not fun
Yes fallen in snow more than once, and I prefer making snow angels. Great camera work again and again, and 100.000. .😮💯👍👍
Thanks Alan 🙂
Lovely video, interesting listening and seeing the warm/cold colours etc stunning scenery too.

Came for the running, was thankful for the reminder about colour temperature in video. Thanks for the video Steve, helps a lot!
also, yes, I like running in snow, but haven't slipped or fallen in it yet

Good points! You want the fresh powdery stuff. I’ve hiked in tight deep snow a couple times and you’re exhausted after about 1/2 km 🥵
In the snow there’s only 2 things better than running - mountain biking and cross country skiing!
I’ve never been skiing, will have to tick that off sometime!
Beautiful footage, I tried setting colour manually today, thanks for the tips.

beautiful snow😊
That looks so much fun 👍😁
It was!
This video is peak ADHD. I love it 😊

Sounds like a farce that 😂😂 although also very painful!
It doesn’t snow in Texas often so I’m definitely a joyful idiot running in it it when it does😂

I’ve got some snow/ice grips I wear it’s icy too. I’ve done some mountain running in winter and some areas are lethal with ice

I hate the snow and is probably why I live in Arizona USA 🌵😎👍
😃✌
Not, not a fan of running in the snow I’m afraid! Petrified I’ll slip and hurt myself.
