I have enrolled in all of Liz's courses including the collage one. Has changed the way I deal with composition. This one is inspirational ❤

These are stunning, I love the way you have used collage and mark-making capture the landscape in front to of you. Inspiring stuff! Thanks Liz

Thanks Lois I’m so glad that you enjoyed the video. I have 3 online courses and one is about mark making and the other that’s just released is about collage. They are great techniques for capturing the spirit and feel of a place.

@@LizAckerley Thanks Liz, I'll take a look. I'm a full time watercolour landscape artist in my 'day job' but am looking to push forward into something a bit different in my own personal work, so sounds interesting!

Hi Lois ah yes - that’s amazing and quite different to the sorts of work I do but as ever there is always overlap and things we take from one to another. Just so you can find them easier here they are:
      lizackerley.podia.com/making-your-mark
      lizackerley.podia.com/your-sketchbook-journey
      lizackerley.podia.com/your-collage-compositions
The links provide you with details about the courses. But if you have any questions at all please do feel free to email me. The collage course is the one I have very recently released.

Hi Lois I'm wondering how you marry your interest with watercolour pigments. Glad you are here watching Liz.

In a holiday area I'll usually pick up tourist leaflets as I go around - nice to add pieces from the travels and also there's no worries about running out!

A great idea- leaflets, booklets, receipts all those sorts of things make great collage papers. And these are the things that tie the work to the place. Thanks for commenting.

Splendid…inspiring, I would feel less daunted now to go out with a clutch of papers …thank you!

Hi Jennie, I am so glad the video was helpful. I think it's just a case of keeping it simple when we are out and about. In my new online course several if not all of the approaches I take can be done on location (provided you have the papers created and this is also part of the course) lizackerley.podia.com/your-collage-compositions.

I’m really enjoying your Collage Compositions course. Thank you for sharing this additional video. Although I’m at home at present, in the past I have avoided signing up for courses when I knew I would be away, so your demonstration is fantastic for showing how to use collage on location.

Hello Jane I am so so glad that you are enjoying the course. It’s really important me that participants get a lot out of it so I’m thrilled. Thanks also re the video. I think it’s easy to forget the collage is portable. I recall that the first collage only concertina I did ( shown at the beginning of part 4 of the course) was done on location.

Brilliant video. Have you made a video showing how you use these sketches in studio paintings?

    • @LizAckerley

Thanks Anne - as you know it’s not a linear process from studies to paintings but the studies enable a deeper connection with the subject. I talk about this and how I work between studies and paintings in many of my videos. Suggest you check out the painting related playlists such as painting series. You will find a range of subjects and aspects covered. Hope that helps.

Thank you - this is what I call limit not labour. The limit of time and materials somehow frees us up. I find it so helpful and can be done small like here or a little larger on paper or other material.

Thanks Sue I’m glad you enjoyed it. I think these small studies can give us more than we imagine. The simplicity and limits help.
