Its a McLaren so it must of broken down every other day right? Well nope it has been actually a very solid car and any issues dealt with at servicing under extended warranty which is worth having, other McLaren owners should share their reliability records both good and bad, but having owned Porsches and Ferrari's my experience so far of McLaren is they are no worse, I mean Porsche have engine and turbo issues, Ferrari DCT issues, all these brands can be as bad, just seems cooler to diss a McLaren maybe?
Same here just over 2 years in my 600LT spider Damper . Aircon pipes , door button and centre switch pack . Never left me stranded and no stress all done under extended warranty well worth having . I’ve only done 3000 miles in mine lol
600/720 calipers are an upgrade from the previous brakes. They're lighter and they run cooler. The fade resistance is significantly improved from my 570, but they do sometimes wear unevenly (mine don't). I've also had one door hinge replaced, and the sway bar drop link bushings, including the rear z bar. No leaky dampers so far, fingers crossed! I totally agree about the hinges, annoying though it is, it's overblown, there's very little chance of it causing a real problem.
Thanks for the info interesting on the calipers and yeah my mine were uneven for me the only negative on the car is the fast brake pad wear on track and the track inspections before and after.
@@Gibbo205 yeah, the inspection and pad cost is killing me too. I've just switched to the long fibre rotors, but had some pad issues. I'm probably also going to switch to a third party warranty which is less costly and gets me away from having to pay dealer rates ($300/hour here how I think, track inspection is $900).
If my updated hinges crack I won't lose any sleep as I doubt they an fail, however what I will say if one does fail and becomes a safety issue then McLaren will no doubt legally have to replace them FOC or issue a recall. Anyone who has failed hinges and is refused replacements, try contacting McLaren Client Services to help.
18k miles in 2 years car has 31k in the dash now no issues except the door hinges dealer said it wasn’t covered under cpo I asked to get it goodwilled they said McLaren would pay 50 percent only

My own experience with 2 McLarens has been that they were bulletproof. Truly wonderful.

Yeah e warranty is decent and well price but also gives pace of mind a come think of it I have had a door switch also

FYI Door hinges are no longer covered by warranty. Now classified as "trim"
