This is indeed a really nice feature, which I would also like to see on other cameras or even the new Rode Wireless Pro. I just hope GoPro has thought this through and allows you to choose between a headset mode and a headphone-only mode. After all, there are situations where I would like to control the audio quality of the internal or an external mic while shooting - that's where the mic in the Air Pods needs to be muted. And if GoPro already uses Bluetooth to pair Air Pods, then please also give them the option to connect Bluetooth microphones - or at least offer such a clip-on mic themselves. I am curious.

I come from an era bolting my Dad's full-size VHS tape camcorder to my BONES skateboard helmet using a 1/4x20 screw, it weight about 6 lbs on my head. This was well before ANY helmet cam existed that a non-hollywood industry professional could afford to get access to. Then we used the Contour action cam and the 20/20 camera but slowly but surely, this little company called GoPro with their funky point-and-shoot film camera format started to gain traction because of it's reliability and price. The other cameras required hard wires to a battery and a separate VHS-C camcorder worn on a backpack, but the GoPro was all self-contained. Pretty amazing. To see what this current GoPro 12 Black can do is like Alien Technology to this old brain. I'm so incredibly impressed (and kinda proud) in a way to have know the action camera world before, during and now.

Hypersmooth 6 also includes 360 horizon lock in some shooting modes
It's a dud
Let me know when you guys make a GoPro as good as the 7 and i will try again. Bought the 11 and the thing did nothing but overheat and freeze up.
Looks like I'm ordering the DJI Osmo Action 4. Thanks for making the video so I know I want the other camera.
I switched to the Action 4 and have loved it. 100% dependable camera. I have the Action 1 and 2 as well, both have been solid cameras. Beat the heck out of my Action 1. Sold all my GoPro gear after 8.... then tried the 11 for a few months, sold it. Just too undependable.
@@HRCFan whats the mounting system like on the Action 4? Is it solid? I heard it was magnetic ?
@@kiwi-moto it is magnetic. I have used it (also on the action 2) in several situations and while I feel I shouldn't trust it.... it hasn't failed me once. :)
For handheld stuff, it is amazing, easy to move and switch mounts.
For the motorcycle, I have used it on my helmet for a long time, never had a issue.
For a real ruff road and mounting outside the vehicle..... I have not done yet, but I suspect it will hold fine. It is a mag, but also two clips that lock in.
@@HRCFan ah ok. I would be looking to use it for Dirt bike riding and snowboarding. The dirt biking I take heavy hits (too often unfortunately 😜) - hmm. So it also has clips? And there are mounts to use GoPro mounts ?
@@kiwi-moto They have the ability to use Gopro style mounts with the magnets. No problem there.
I wouldn't worry about the cam falling on dirt and breaking. Finding it, yeah, a issue. But I would just put a safety wire on it during my trial period.
DJI mount is pretty flexible. Uses just about anything. ulanzi has options as well if you wanted 3rd party stuff.
I have the hero 12 black and it is absolutely amazing 🤩
Please fix bug where media mount froze camera and need take battery out to reset. Its annoying since gopro9.
I really don't need a gopro but these video just makes me want to buy one...
a few nice features, but was really hoping for a 1-inch sensor version. please gopro, you can do it 🙏
dji will be the first to do it
@@r00kiet80 for sure, sadly though their cameras dont support reelsteady stabilisation, which is why I really want gopro to do it.
@@peakperspectives_ch always used gyroflow but reelsteady propably has its advantages
I'm a big fan of gopro. Still using gopro hero 10 and perform so well with enduro battery.. keep it up gopro!
Bring back the session!
I love the new Gopro 12, I just tried it with my surfskate, what I liked the most is ,the battery life, the image quality and the new adapter for photo and video tripods.
How much did GoPro pay you?
04:52 - "larger than HERO 12 Black"? Is this part taken from an ad for the next in line GoPro 13 or I misunderstood the sentence?
Larger than hero 12 black alone WITHOUT MAX LENS MOD 2.0😉
Some of these shots are phenomenal! I aspire to a bit of adventure too, might be time to replace my trusty HERO9. The new battery life looks like a real plus. The schedule and interval captures appeal as well. I can get more serious about aspect ratios, etc going forward!
Hopefully this contains some information about the forthcoming accessories too. Looking forward to seeing how GoPro is going to tackle the competition.
or its just few bluff and some small changes to make hipe in people
"Hype". GoPro customers have been asking for bluetooth audio for years, now they finally have it.@@shivamhirpara7314
At this point, GoPro is like the Iphone... great camera, but nothing really changes. everything has kind of hit a peak and flattened out for now.
I would like to know if it heats up and turns off like the last 3, I asked this same question at the launch of the 11th and they said they had fixed this problem, the fact is that I'm in Brazil Amazon and the Gopro heats up quickly and turns off, its resources were limited, no Is it possible to film constantly, was there anything to improve this?
Now you can connect your EarPods to the GoPro this is another level 😮😮😮
Awesome 👏🏻
Single feature that makes it worth buying if you have a hero 11
Agreed
Go pro employee comment section here
This is indeed a really nice feature, which I would also like to see on other cameras or even the new Rode Wireless Pro.
You asked, we listened 👂🎧
Gopro should improve night shots also 🙌🏻🤩
@gopro When are we getting the Hero 13 Black? Updated low-light quality is a must.
so no 1 inch sensor?
I am impressed with the new battery life and how you can connect your AirPods to the GoPro. My favorite is definitely the max lens 2.0. Not sure if I should wait for the 13 but it looks pretty good. I’m sure they fixed the overheating and freeing issues.
I wonder if this works with Sena? It should since it's Bluetooth, Right?
Finally, the wait is over and the moment we've been waiting for is here.
I love that basically every scene you see for 10 Minutes has nothing to do with "reality" for 99% of the people.
I do nothing in my life except Mountainbiking (just did a short 3 hour run in Switzerland). Snowboarding, Inlineskating, Slacklining, Walking with my huskies, Sailing around (Corsica, Menorca, Elba, Sardegna,). I do camping all over Europe with my Hilleberg tents.
But even for me, what I see in those shots is just fantasy for 80% of the time 😅😁
I once even rode down the Bec des Rosses in Verbier couple years ago and it was so demanding and scarry that I decided not to do it anymore and I Snowboard and Ski since I can remember here in Switzerland and I'm 41 now.
And ye there is footage of that run, but its bad since all I did was trying to make it down in one peace 😁
Cheers
Looks promising. If it doesn't overheat like the Hero 11 did, it might be the next best GoPro ever created after the Hero 7 black. I like what I saw in the promotional video, now waiting for the camera to be released to see real world reviews.
Thermal shutdown limits have increased across resolutions and frame rates when compared to HERO11 Black. You'll get 2x longer run-time for higher performance modes before the camera reaches its thermal limits. Specifically, you’ll get 70 minutes of run-time for 5.3K/60 and close to an hour of recording for 4K/120 🔋
@@GoPro nice! Thank you!
i use the Hero 9 and 11 for all my long walk videos and none of them have overheated, I also record at 200mbps with the Hero 11, and still no overheat :)
@@madeiraislandermy 11 black over heats all the time. It's 80-90 outside. I record for 17 mins and it says camera too hot. So so annoying, this is also my 2nd 11 black. So it's not just one.
@@madeiraislanderup all the settings , many videos about this
When are we going to get a proper zoom function and a mic port without needing a media mod / mic adapter? I own every GoPro, even bought the drone (lol).. But Maybe time to switch to the iPhone 15?
Nice Cam! =) Love it!
Gotta say this is my favorite voiceover. I know it´s not the focus of the video but damn
From 6 lbs to just 154 grams 🙌 It's been a wild ride! Thanks for being a part of it.
Dope! Was looking at the DJI Action 4, but I really wanted to see what GoPro would come up with because I kinda like look of the footage more and so far it looks pretty nice. The mics I see haven't improved from the 11 and probably the low light performance is the same. Looking forward to a comparison between the two.
DJI action 4 easily win based on the low light performance alone
yup, gopro hasn’t been good since like the 5 series lmao. dji all the way!!
@@Hubiroi just got dji action 4 yesterday. But to be honest. Gopro always make amazing advertising videos.
DJI's mounting system is also a huge win over GoPro @@intjrovert9611
I got the Action 4 too!
Better run time and not overheating will be the features I will be watching closely before considering an upgrade. Both these issues have caused me serious issues in the past with recent GP models.
Hopefully the over heating is much better 😊
This is wonderful. I’m still using my Hero 7 Silver that I’ve had for 3 or 4 years. It works awesome and I’ve had zero issues with it. Thx GoPro 💪
A câmera é tão boa que deu vontade de tê-la ! Sensacional.
I hope there is no overheating problem 😂
I think this camera overheating like valcano eruption😂

As an automotive videographer, i already use several 9s, 10s, and 11s, and I literally can't tell the difference between them. I have absolutely no preference on which one i grab for any given thing, and I only have the different ones based on what I get for a good deal on Marketplace.
Tell me the difference I would notice with a 12

Looks like a reasonable upgrade over my Hero7 , especially on the battery life.
I've been using the Hero 7 as well and have not been tempted to upgrade until now, since this Hero 12 can do wireless mic.
Don't do this! I Haven 7 and 11. 11 is useless when the sun is not shining.
"70"mins"5.3K" of recording only in a Fridge 😜
Because it overheats?
Forte com minha Hero 7 Black ainda. Essa 12 tá outro nível!
Hello GoPro guys and fans,
I myself have a GoPro and I love the product and all but they keep avoiding one MAJOR ISSUE and idk if they know or maybe they don’t care but they need to fix the lightning on the night time why do they focus on the day time but the night time where there’s millions of people who do adventures in the time time and the light add on don’t help maybe they can fix this issue
Still got my hero 3+. maybe I should make a slight jump to the 12
Haha!
Ha! I still have the 3+ too. Bit if a jump
It's time 😂
well that was largely disappointing. GoPro please please prioritise low light performance, it is hands down your biggest flaw.
So true!
Dji is destroying gopro at the moment!
yes please
True , I’m not buying another GoPro until they improve the low light
Too much grain
My 9 keeps jamming and bugging all the time , is this worth the switch?
I’ve been GoPro since the 8, I am hoping they one up on the DJI action 4 for nighttime shots as that is what counts for me. It’s hard to beat a 1 inch sensor and I have a feeling this won’t have one and that will be the end of the road. We will see though 😊 I’ve been holding out to see what today brings.
Planning to upgrade my action camera. Night shot is the deal breaker for me.
It is the same camera as the 11
same, been holding off buying a new action cam til this came out. i also want to see a reliability test between GP and DJI as well.
Hero 12 = Hero 11.2. I was hoping in a larger sensor for better low light performance. I love the Hero 10 and 11. No reason to upgrade. Basically Bluetooth audio, tripod mount, better power management are the only improvements.
Seriously, guys, most of the updates could have been an email 😢
Polish TH-camr "Yoji720" has unboxing this camera on his channel already. 😅 Really "mysterious" cam.
Been using Hero 10 for my vlogs and always have a problem with the device & battery in the cold region. It just freezes during shots and battery drains super quick. Want to upgrade but still can’t trust
Let's cross our fingers and hope that it's not too similar to Hero 11
It´s the same
I've read the info on the official GoPro site and it doesn't seem too much has changed... Bigger FOV when using the new Max Lens mod, so more money.... new Bluetooth supports - can use AirPods.... longer battery and think new resolutions.. some new vertical lens option which is designed for Social Media.....
that's all I can think off from top of my head... I'll be sticking to the 10... I don't use mine enough to warrant a change.
It's not only similar.......but in most cases it's freakin' identical 😮
@@buckrodgers2303 the extra money for nothing :/
Heroe 11 mk2 😂😂
Incredible like always just the best bestest ever
What you need to know: The Hero 12 is a bust. Spend your $399 on the DJI Osmo Action 4 if you must upgrade.
gopro is just outdated now … nothing new in last few years .. i guess they will be out of competition soon .. i started with gopro but now i don’t use them anymore ..
I don’t have money but I love to see your video
I had goosebumps just watching these clips. This is not only an action camera anymore, they are slowly dissolving the thin line to become Film Production Cam. Loved It.
i have gopro 12, media markt in poland sell
My guess is that they are selling early before anyone realise what an underwhelming release this is. Everyone were looking forward to a 1" sensor but it seems the only change is a slightly more efficient design.
They literally upgraded nothing
HDR and extended battery …..isn’t ‘nothing’.
I am still using my Hero 7 Black and it is still amazing
Does it split the recording into multiple files?
GoPro cameras normally split long recordings into 4GB segments. You can enable larger chapters with GoPro Labs Firmware 👍
I don't know who made this advertisment, but guys you did a great Job!
This is my first Go Pro and I’m immensely loving it. I recently brought it along on my Hawaiian vacation and had a blast.
From what I can make out its has the same hardware as the 11, with some software/hardware updates, which coulld be giving to 11 customers. Or aim i wrong gopro????
Great Camera ❤❤❤
What a wonderful Camera, i love the GoPro style!
Incorporates Gopros latest overheating and unreliability functions, to make your experience just like the last 5 versions you already own 🤟
Will they ever build a built in media module so sound is good without the casing? That's one of my biggest frustrations with GoPros.
Active recreation in nature is always very cool. I like this 😊
Next year I'm launching a GoPro Hero 12 Black I loved it ❤
