Ben, you're giving us ALL the feels with this review. Thanks for putting HERO12 Black through the paces + especially for loving Max Lens Mod 2.0 as much as we do! Can't wait to see more 🤝
You know you've made it on TH-cam when GoPro comments on your videos😃 we started our channel with just a Gorpo 11 and media mod. Image quality beats all the other action Cams... Every day of the week😁
Ok, right off the bat at 01:00 the 1/4-20 receiver, bonus! Wind noise reduced over 10 &11 - nice. Longer run-time without aux-pwr pack. No significant HDR improvement... and I don't want gps anyway. Don't want the max lens. I like your review, but something none of the reviewers touch on that is important to me - What is the closest focal distance with the GoPro Cameras? I need to know what the closest the camera can be to the subject and have it in focus. Thumbs up, wish you all the best. Thanks.
This is the first tutorial that kept me hooked from start to finish! Just bought my GoPro today, and I'm so excited to try out all these awesome tips and tricks. Thanks, everyone, and happy GoPro adventures! 🌟📸✨

You know when a action camera is so good that you can clearly see fish in the water whiles going zooming along. looks like grass carp or something surface grazing @8:59 👍🏻 To me this is just worth the little extra,, the mic is excellent compared to the other two and overall clarity and almost lack of wind noise i really like. I would like to know what close up is like as wanted to use this as a bird camera, but i bet it is excellent. Good review
The 12 lasting way longer before shutting down is a HUGE bonus for me. I currently have the 10, and I love it, but sometimes I need it to record longer than 30-40 min at once
@@paperacottathat's silly. Yesz and action camera, but with the accessories it has, they are supposed to be used stationary as well. They just failed with heat dissipation.
Really loved this but WHY!? Why would you use a different battery in the 10 vs the 11 and 12? the enduro batteries do last longer then the originals, and you making that diff makes the test null.
Even though the 10 didn't perform as well. I would like you to switch them around so the 10 is at the other end while filming and do this for them all. The 12 seems to be pointing directly at you and the others off to the side a bit. If you look at how far your arm is extended when you reach out on the 12 vs the others. They seem closer to your face. Angle makes a difference. Regardless the 12 is the best option.
I just got a 10 as my first go pro. I'm planning on biking from Virginia beach to Oklahoma City and only needed an easy way to stream. I don't see much improvement from 10-12
1:08 Hi Ben. Regarding the 1/4 20 mount of the new GoPro, I believe the Falcam F22 quick release system could be a good option to look into. Personally, I use the Falcam F22 system to mount my external monitor to my camera. It allows me to mount and remove my accessories in a sec. Now, I cannot live without it. Great video and awesome comparisons as always. Thank you for sharing it with us.
13:13 aren't you misleading people? The lower price for the subscription is only available after renewing the subscription (after more than a year) and not immediately after purchasing it...
I am totally confused by the erratic behavior of my GoPro Hero Black 10. Request you to have patience on checking the below issues. I have TWO original batteries 11months old; 1) Blue/Black, 2) White/Black Endura. AFTER LONG GAP, GoPro does not start though the batteries are fully charged. Every day, I take-out the camera from my Almirah, I find the device is dead and does not start by pressing the mode/side button. Sometimes (not always), I pressed the button (Mode) for 11-12 sec. It starts. Once it starts, the camera functions all right. Shows battery is fully charged 95% or so. After Long Gap (Say, camera is OFF for 2/3 hours), the same thing happens. It does not get ON. If I remove the battery for 5 sec. and put it back, sometimes it responds (LED/Beep etc), sometimes it does not. If I connect the camera to a direct power/USB Charger, without battery, It responds and gets on pressing Mode Button. If I connect the camera direct power/USB Charger, with battery, the RED LED gets ON AFTER 5/10 MINUTES. After that if functions are OK. I have tried with both the batteries and got confused whether its’ a problem with the camera or battery. My earnest request, if you could comment on this and show me a way to solutions. Thank You, Ashis Kumar Paul, 9830025399 Kolkata
The problem with Bluetooth audio -- and this is NOT unique to GoPro -- is that as soon as you use a device that has a *microphone* for two-way audio -- like your AirPods -- it switches to Bluetooth Headset Profile (HSP) or Hands-Free Profile (HFP), and it reverts to what is essentially old school analog phone quality. If you are using a device that is receiving only (no microphone capability, e.g. just a speaker), then most devices negotiate the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), which is full-quality sound. I first learned this when I found out my Laptop's built-in mic and speakers sounded much, much better when on Zoom than using ANY Bluetooth-connected device that includes a microphone. It's amazing that the tech community hasn't recognized and educated on this issue more widely. I basically had to figure it out myself; there's very little out there in terms of videos, articles or even forum posts (plenty of people asking, but few that ever arrive at the above answer).
I like some of the features on the 12 and I am coming from very old tech but I can get an 11 at an overall better deal. I never thought about using one as a dashcam. Like the idea and this is where the mag mount would be a huge plus. thanks for the review
wow how the 10 kills the eleven in the wide view impressive! 10 still great. so in any case 10 or 12 - 11 is not an option.... and when you consider price and lowlight performance its the 10 for me!
Appreciate your video comparing the 3 most recent GoPro's. Nice work. For the stabilization portion at 1:28, wish you would have shot it horizontally instead of vertical. I understand you wanted to compare each camera side-by-side, so it's probably the only way to present each camera together. :) I have the 11 and really can't see any reason to go with the 12. Just wish GoPro could improve footage in low-light for indoor shooting. Perhaps a larger sensor (maybe 1" sensor) would help. I owned the Sony ZV-E1 vlogging camera and still the GoPro beats the Sony on stabilization even with the ZV-E1 set to Dynamic Active setting.
I do a ton of time;apse at night . I have a Brinno TLC 200 That is fantastic. But it stopped working so I upgraded to the TLC 300. Bottom line for night time lapse it sucks. Great in the daylight. I use the Go Pro hero 8 and have some semi good to sometimes great results. Cant wait to get the Hero 12 . Looks like some really great features. Do you have any recommendations for the best camera set up for night time , time lapse?? THX for making the vid.
They should have improved the sensor as well, on low light it is terrible. With all the changes (small sensor, no GPS, etc) it seems more that they wanted to decrease the price / more profit and yet trying to call it an upgrade...
Thank you for the video! I definitely don’t see the need for the 12 I just use it to record my rides and don’t do too much extra stuff nor do I plan to. I think ima go with the 11 just because it’s not much more expensive than the 10 atm, and just want to be able to use the media mod so I don’t have to tape the little 3.5mm mic adapter to the side of my helmet. Like it did with my old helmet.
2 years later, I got the infamous red light of death on my GoPro Hero 8. Usually, I'd just remove the battery and attempt some stuff and it would start working again. Not anymore. I now have a very expensive paperweight.
I am taking on a challenge on a handbike, I am looking at the 12 but what other accessories would I need as I am recording memories for my very last fundraiser after 48 years in memory of my grandmother and Jenny Weller who both died of brain Tumour. Please bear in mind I will be seated all the time. so mounts etc are a must.
I want to make videos where I strap the gopro to my chest and go around photographing. I think the FOV on the 10 and 11 is perfect for this, on the 12 is might be too wide. But the 11 and especially the 12 have better battery life. So I guess I'll take the middle ground 11 which also has a mini variant. If the chest thingy supports mini gopros though. Thanks for the review!
super cool review, what would you recommend to film steady in a tripod or mount in a very illuminated room ( an operation room simulation lab) with the objective to see: how the hole team work, to se some details from the simulation surgery... please help me with that. because I don't know if the investment with the latest models if its not going to be in extreme sports

no closer than 15 centimeters. The camera doesn't focus anything, it doesn't have AF

how has it taken 12 different models of go pro to finally make use of the camera industry standard 1/4 inch connecting jack
