Fun idea with the AI narration. Love it. Great way to fill some of the travel footage gaps, compelling writing, and there's something relaxing about it as a frequent audiobook listener.

Very unique use of having Slim and Glenn having a dialogue while recapping and making it a top ten...still love all those drone shots from The Valley of the Gods...and The Swell...I want to visit both of these places, hopefully one day.

I just found this channel and it’s awesome! Dudes got huge cojones for driving some of those roads. I’ve got a 4wd but would have been pissing myself.

Cool thanks! If you liked that one, this Thursday is our brand new top ten 2024 trails. So same exact format, but with this year’s trails. Split into two episodes to make it a little more digestible for some. Part two will be out next Thursday, which is the top 5.

Hello Glen, I am new to your audience and I have to say thank you and Amy for doing what you do. Cactus Atlas is my favorite new channel and I find myself binge watching to get caught up. You are a pleasure to listen to and your narration is so enjoyable and relaxing. I absolutely love the ghost town episodes and hope to get to some of them myself. I also enjoyed the "Slim"character he is a very fun addition 👍 and I look forward to more of that . Keep up the great work you are truly a natural at this.

These kind of road trips are the reason we sold our class A motorhome. We bought a camper shell to put on our pickup, and we’ll build a minimalist interior in it. We love the 🏜️ desert and slow dirt roads.

Did a four day bucket list ride (dual sport bikes) circling Canyonlands Sept 2023. Green River, through Henryville/Henry Mts - Hite crossing through Bears Ears/The Abajo's - Montecello through Lockheart Basin/Chicken Corner/Kane Cr Rd - Moab through Pot Ash/up Shafer Tr/ Dubinky/White Wash to Green River. Camped each night. I've explored a lot of the area before and this tied together a bunch of areas I hadn't been to. Love this area.

Nice video - we enjoyed the Moki Dugway and Valley of the Gods, as well as Monument Valley, Montezuma Canyon, Hovenweep, Cedar Mesa, and Moab, all from the Blanding, UT, area; funnily enough, we're headed to Easter Jeep Safari this March and already have part of our trip set up for the Wedge and Black Dragon Canyon on the north side of the San Rafael Swell! The Swell is a great place to ride/drive/hike/you name it, with slot canyons for even beginners, and tons of history and gorgeous scenery - thanks for highlighting it, and remind folks that you're only a couple of hours from Moab once you're in that area!

We are Robert and Billie 2 trailbuilders live in our RV and escape winters in southern Oregon and come to McDowell Mountain Brown ranch as mountain bikers but love to explore.
We left Oregon domicile living over a year ago and are looking to add a worthy 4x4 to tow behind our 26ft E450 RV but ya any so beautiful tis video and ironically enough first one on list we are camping next to as we are off I8 Telegraph trail.
Thanks our new Friend and oh ya we are hippies as well😳😂🤷‍♂️

An hour north of Flagstaff AZ is SP crater. There are no signs leading you to it. It’s an easy drive up a dirt road. I hiked to the top of the crater. That was a pretty difficult climb as the volcanic rock was loose. My wife and I were the only people there. Great view and worth doing. Give your self some time to climb it. Can use Mule deer paths to try and help.

    • @CactusAtlas
      @CactusAtlas  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

We can easily imagine what it is like having been out to Ubehebe Crater in Death Valley. The climb back out of it was like hiking in kitty litter. 😂 There's a load of stuff in the Flagstaff area that we still want to cover. 👍

    • @ickess

There was so much to do out there. I was in a rental jeep grand Cherokee so couldn’t do any major off roading but there was a ton to do. Cathedral rock was our favorite hike / climb. That’s near Sedona. At Wupatki National Monument there is a dirt road that’s not part of the park but on it call black falls rd. We drove up it after the park closed. It Just goes and goes. You’re in the middle of know where with nothing around you as far as the eye can see. It was amazing. You drive through the little Colorado river. When we went the river was dry so was just a river bed. Beautiful country out there.

    Happy trails. 🎶
P.S. how large is your gas tank? I’d imagine you took gas with you. How much do you take?
How often did you refill? What’s your mpg? Do you carry a compressor?
    Love the truck.

You're right. Of the three popular ways, that's the only one we have not filmed. YET. But we're also not a macho off-road channel and enjoy showing people what can be done and can't as a lot of regular folk like to see road conditions. It's all about encouraging people to explore. 😄 That and we're also big into history so we talked about Bumble Bee, Cleator, and Murphy's Impossible Railroad on the way there in the video. Funny enough, we have a video on a second route to Crown King in a couple days. 👍

I know that you know this, but a quick note for your viewers. If you're inspired by the awesome drone footage in this video and you want to do the same, don't do it in Monument Valley. Drones are forbidden everywhere throughout the Navajo Nation. The awesome footage here of Valley of the Gods is fine because it's outside Navajo Nation land, but Monument Valley is a big no-no. Thank you to Cactus Atlas for respecting that law.

Finally rode up to crown king (out and back); off the Bumble Bee exit on the 17; quite frankly, just an uninteresting ride and waste of gas (and I found no interest in CK). I might take the extended ride to Prescott; from the Prescott side. IMO, the ride out to Bloody Basin is so much better; and 4 Peaks is OK if you don't mind being shook to death on half the ride.
