    I've watched LeBron from year 1 to now. Probably anywhere from 30 games to 70 games a year (not always the full game). I'm so happy I've enjoyed his greatness and didn't hate on it.

      Same, he really grew on me the more he became a man. His dedication is 2nd to Kobe, he's a great family man, and seems like a great friend. He may call himself King, but he has a humility that i dont think most giys would have in hos position. It's been really cool to grow up watching him grow up

      I mean I’ve seen an equal amount of games give or take you know but I don’t know what this hate is
      Fundamentally he is not sound he is actually below average
      His jumper is weak
      His handles are not what u would call stellar
      He FORCES his teams to play five out even when it reduces versatile all star bigs like Love and Bosh to be spot up three point shooters
      One time real quick what’s the weakest part of their games? Oh yea
      I watched basketball since 1988 so I can appreciate the athleticism and also call bs on the beyond fake narratives
      Sad reality James lost in 07 due to his lack of a jumper. He knocks down threes and the mid range the defense listens up opening the offense making them unbeatable
      He failed to win until he built the most stacked team ever by far
      Then went .500
      It’s fair to say he under performed at every stop
      The guys top thirty all time maybe close to twenty
      Personally I wouldn’t take him under any circumstances cause he is to limited in how he can play.

      However regardless of his longevity hes not on Jordans level...hes just a Great once in a lifetime player whos played like Mayweather picked his fights.
      Recruiting for HIS benefit offense flows through him but the only thing i see is him basically doing the same thing. I never saw him do anything ive never seen before from a player putside of longevity.
      MJ put a career of firsts..and all this Pippem Phil talk is deflected and DESPERATION.
      Why did he leave Miami?? He saw the writing on the wall unhealthy Wade severly unhealthy Bosh which Gil doesnt even touch.
      Ran back home to a pretty stacked cavs.... then he ran again to LA where HE blew up the young talent to get AD anyone denying that is a STRAIGHT STAN IDC what anyone says...hes great but hes NOT greater than MJ...

      @@blanktrigger8863 that's not true. It's actually the same if not more ppg back then.
      It's easier now for individual players to put up inflated numbers when the defense isn't allowed to touch the offensive player at all.
      Imagine players like Iverson or Kobe if they played today. They're both averaging 40+.

    • @blanktrigger8863
      @blanktrigger8863 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@elsamurai1220 Keep believing that. I'm seeing old players and old fans claiming bad defense on defense that used to be considered good just because the shots fall. And that's especially true when it comes to 3pt shots. There's a reason why stars used to take so many shots: it's because no one else could score well enough. Now almost every player can at least hit the 3, contested or not, even in motion a lot of the time.
      Offense is simply better because scorers are better. You can tell this is the case because when teams have poor shooting nights from 3 they still have 90-110 games like the old days. It's when the 3 is failing that teams get up to 110-127-ish. So if players were as limited as they were back then, the scoring would be the same as it was back then.
      Kobe and Iverson also weren't efficient enough to average 40 ppg without tanking their teams. Without a good enough 3pt shot, you have average 2k MyPlayer type 60-65+ percentage shooting to average 40 without ruining your team.

    • @elsamurai1220
      @elsamurai1220 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@blanktrigger8863 Bruh, ppg are the same as it was back then. So teams scoring better now is just wrong.
      Also Kobe has 4 rings and Iverson took his bum team to the finals by himself and lost to Shaq and Kobe. If it wasn't for them, Iverson would be the only guard and player in NBA history to win an NBA championship by himself. Iverson also led the league in scoring 4 times and LeBron hasn't even done it once. So no, both Kobe and Iverson were efficient.
      But keep thinking this generation is somehow leaps and bounds better then the ones in the past when in reality it's just the same or less.
      This no defense era is inflating individual players numbers and hurting the integrity of the NBA in general.

    At this age, anything you get from a 38yr old player should be icing on the cake for a team. Gil is speaking facts - Jordan would still average 20+ today and would bust dudes (probably on great shooting splits) but the team would playing a much slower style of offense. Guys don't get 40 so often today because defenders have gotten that much worse in two decades, it's because the offensive game has exploded in pace and speed. The average possessions have gone up while average duration of possessions have gone down, the game is played so much in transition now. Young Jordan, Prime Jordan, '98 Jordan would thrive in today's league, but 38 year old Jordan had lost the stamina and durability to average 40 in today's pace after two years off.

    • @SonicBoomC98
      @SonicBoomC98 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The only reason MJ didn't average more with the Wizards is injuries and that the pace had slowed down some. Pace has actually made the game easier not harder. If these guys are such superior athletes, why hasn't the defense adjusted to the offense? Guys are barely even trying to play defense now. And if LeBron is much better and more in line with the pace of today's game, why does he rest on defense so much or walk up the court instead of running. This is now the first time pace has changed in the league.

  • @JRos_22
    @JRos_22 ปีที่แล้ว +78

    The difference it's that at 38 LeBron still scores using every move in his repertoire because his athleticism it's still there but Mike at 38 was mainly scoring from the post and in todays NBA he could get a few buckets like that with the better spacing but you can't beat teams scoring like that all game with teams taking 35 3's per game, LeBron can still do his thing because he's still a threat in the open floor and driving to the basket which breaks the defense and creates 3pt opportunities for his teammates, a post up doesn't do any of that so MJ wouldn't be able to take 15 post shots a game with a few mid range shots to avg 30.

    The thing about this GOAT thing across all sports is that it loses validity because of eras. The era now has gained massivley from the era preceding it. The technology that has aided the enduring physical health and longevity of players was thought of in the previous era. There's a story from a player about Lebron in high school and the diet he was on, the fitness regime he undertook, and that was because of pros like Jordan doing it, and it trickling down to high school coaches and players. So those high schoolers already had the jump physcially before they got into the league. It's the same in many team sports.

One guy got swept in the conference finals with another super star on his team. One guy never made the finals get to a game 7. One dominated the league once he got another star player. One guy has been up and down even with 2 other Allstars on his team. One guy needs recognition for still playing well at age 38. Go back to years earlier and you will find a guy who won his 2nd 3-peat at age 36. One guy got crowned by the fans as the goat. The other guy is trying to crown himself. One guy didn't load manage when the game was tougher. Yet another guy load manages in an Era when the game is softer. Yet some people want to ignore this and crown him king. Dude has been load managing since he got to the lakers. Like wtf. You don't get credit for that. Dude is literally load managing to stay in the league longer and break longevity records. Dominance is what makes you goat. If you aren't who everyone is coming after year after year, how the fuck can you be the goat. For about 5 years GSW was what teams aimed to beat (not Lebron and his team). Even after lakers won that lame bubble championship, teams still did not see them as the team they needed to build a roster for. Winning with the same formula over and over again, while still very impressive, is objectively less difficult than doing it with different teammates, coaches, and environments each time. It's not just longevity that makes Lebron so great, in fact to say that is ignoring all of what he's accomplished. Lebron was the best player in the league for over a decade, and continues to live up to the pressure and expectations that are set on him (Jordan was always the NBA's cherished star throughout and after his career).
