You should go! I'm good, thank you so much for asking. I know I've been MIA a bit - last month was hard. This month is far better; I was only gone Friday because I had the grandson here. He's been here all week. Such a blessing! ❤️
Wow - the thrift stores near you are amazing, and so is the Dollar Tree. "My" Salvation Army never has patterns or fabric, and in fact, they don't have furniture anymore either - mostly clothes, books and household items. The Goodwill sometimes has patterns but they price them way too high and hardly ever any fabric. The Dollar Tree near me does not have nearly as good a craft section as yours, either - you are quite fortunate! Thanks for the little bit of Jesus!
My Goodwill is all clothing and dishes, it seems. Not even their book section is remarkable. And hoo baby the prices have gone up! My Dollar Tree - the one closest to me - doesn't have nearly the craft section that the one in Venice (in the video) has. But Salvation Army is the best around here by far.
Interesting how many differences there are from store to store even though they have the same corporate name - anyway, I'm always ready to go virtually thrifting!@@TodayinJensSewingRoom
You’ve really got some nerve thrifting without Michelle and I! You got some cool stuff! If I couldnt be there, it was fun to at least tide along. That scared the crap out of me when that man opened your car door. Def start lokcking!! Im gonna concentrate on that too! Miss you❤!
i just found your channel, i have a good will and i just place my leather phone wallet and my keys in the bottom of the bag and put other bags ontop, no one will think to steal empty bags but a good disguise for you if you turn your back. i make my own bags out of feed bags for farm animals i always get compliments on them.
I think it's a numbers game. The more you go, the more you find. I go a lot of times and find nothing, so I think in the end it's the law of averages -
Not sure what was going on with him - I think he may have been talking to his wife behind my car, probably telling her how he mistook my car for theirs!
Either everyone gets to Salvation Army before me or people are donating to other places. I don't find patterns or fabric. Once some of my projects are done, I am thinking about buying oversized clothes and cutting them down to my size. Then maybe hemming, etc would at least be done
My Goodwill never has fabric or patterns either. I think I found quilting scraps there one time. But Salvation Army has always been better in my experience.
I love to thrift. However, here on the Central Coast of California, the thrift stores are not “thrifty” anymore. Goodwill is very overpriced, probably by double. Good deals can be found but not like a few years ago and you really have to be there at the right time. I would not have passed up that book either. What a fun find. I always hit the book and craft sections. Very unusual to find patterns or fabric in either of the thrift stores close to me. One of them did have patterns awhile ago and they were charging $5 for New Look, some cut. At that point I said “that’s enough”and found the store manager. She didn’t care that they were selling them for more than they cost new! 🤦♀️😂
Jen, Get in your car and you lock your doors! It’s important to be careful😊 These thrift stores remind me of Smart Art in Nashville. I love that place! I don’t get those types of prices on fabric though😕 I think Smart Art knows people will pay more in Nashville for fabric😜
@@TodayinJensSewingRoom Smart Art carries fabric, patterns, notions, art supplies, needlework supplies… it’s people’s donations that have potential😊 They have loads of fabric! It’s there to provide those that are challenged a chance to pair up with someone to help them fold, label/price, and display items. The youth learn skills. It’s amazing!
Our patterns are usually $1.99. so your price seems like a bargain. Do you check the patterns that are already cut out or just buy unused ones? Looks like fun!! I love thrifting.
Nope, I'm an equal opportunity pattern purchaser. I never check them but I've only been disappointed once with missing pieces. Often they're uncut - but I never differentiate if I like the design. I should probably be more careful!
Thrift stores in the South are the best!!!! I've been to ones in Washington and Oregon and BC Canada, and they never have as good a selection. The ones that do are priced way too high.
Ok, I was freaking out for you when that guy opened the door 😱Why do these things happen to you every time you film😂. I have a car lock setting on mine that only opens my door, everything else stays locked 😅. I love shopping with you Jen, it felt like I was beside you ❤ I will still never get over the choice you have and size of your Charity shops, hope to be in one soon!! Take care and LOCK your doors!! 🚙❤xxx
I wasn't kidding when I initially went to the wrong one myself. But I sure didn't try and open the car door. Ah, the Land of Senior Citizens. He was harmless but you never know . . . xox
That guy opening the car door, didn’t seem threatening, but you never know so that’s why I always lock my car doors right when I get in.
I will from now on.
Jeni lock your car door as soon as you get in. Very important this day. Thank you for sharing ❤❤
Yes Ma'am, definitely doing that from now on!
I love the pattern for that sundress! So pretty and timeless. If we lived closer together we could do a thrifting collab video!
Oh I will thrift anytime!
I would really love more of these thrifting type of videos….I 💜loved this video so much!
Will do!!
That coral color looks so amazing next to your skin! I WOULD be thrifting with you if I wasn't working!! 😊
Next time! I think this was on a Thursday. Let's plan on a Friday afternoon or Saturday! xox
I always enjoy a treasure hunt😊😊
And you have some great places to do it!
That was so much fun! Can't wait to see your organization! Yay!!!
Made a big difference!
Jen, you are making me think about thrifting. So Jen, how are you? Really ❤❤❤😊

I decided to do a little thrifting today. But I locked my door because I remembered your video!😮
😂 😂 😂 Good thinking!

Miss you too and of course it wasn't the same. Can't wait to go with you again! Soon . . . 😘
Love a change of pace and go thrifting!❤
It sure does break up a day! I love doing it with my friend Trish. We need to do that soon.

Great idea!
The thrift stores are one of the things I really miss about living in the USA
The ones in the UK are pretty fantastic too. And I've heard the same in Australia.
@@TodayinJensSewingRoomYes, Australia has great op shops but our prices aren’t as amazing as the U.S
You always find the best things thrifting! 🤗

I love thrifting - thanks for taking us along.
I'm hoping to do this more often.
He doesnt think you're crazy, I think hes crazy he was all lurking around after that!
Not sure what was going on with him - I think he may have been talking to his wife behind my car, probably telling her how he mistook my car for theirs!

WHAT!!! $5 for New Look? No way. Buh-bye!

Yes I definitely will. Smart Art? Yet another place I need to visit? Oh my. I'll be wearing a path up and down the I-75 corridor . . . ❤️

Funny that you say that - because the best ones I've ever found are in Alaska! 😂
I want that Erte book!
I think it is a knock-off because of the misspelling of Bazaar. But the illustrations really are good. Very Art Deco.
You should never leave your purse in your car. If seen inside, thieves will break out your car window to steal it.
Fun vlog!
❤️😘

Yes Ma'am. And you have great shops! I loved thrifting in Kent. Got some gems! 😘
Lock your doors. That dude is lurking
I think he was looking for his wife.
🤩🤩🤩
You would know!
Love “junking”
Yes!
Hello - wrong car 🚗

I don't understand.
