They need so many because bananas aren't as effective as oranges for treating it, but bananas seem to be the only fruit around, at least in this game. 1:55 there was supposed to be a new DK Jr. but his redesign was so drastic that Nintendo requested that Rare make it a new character or make a redesign closer to Jr’s original design and that’s how we got Diddy Kong as a character. Also about the Kremling’s stealing the Banana hoard, it’s heavily implied that the hoard is magical especially since later games show connections to faries, deities and aliens, alongside the tiki tak tribe using them to create their ranks and its juice can be used to make the user invincible so it’s no real surprise Kremlings more specifically K.Rool would want that power.
Yes! You finally did it and I can't begin to tell you how glad I am. This game deserves to have it's 30th anniversary commemorated. It's the game that MADE Rare. Before this game was made and released Rare might as well not have existed even though the company was 9 years old in 1994. Thanks so much. I also got some video ideas for next year. You can make one commemorating the 40th anniversary of Rare themselves since they started in 1985. You can give a history lecture on them. Also next year marks the 20th anniversaries of both Perfect Dark Zero and Conker: Live & Reloaded so maybe do videos on them. But most importantly next November in 2025 make on commemorating the 30th anniversary of DKC 2. Fans will definitely want that one considering it's more loved than even the first game. There's no end the possibilities.
I remember that in an old gaming magazine there was a footnote wondering about what could be on the first Donkey Kong face from where you move to start the first world. To this day, it stills haunts me XD
That space burned me up for *years* as a kid. I had a false memory of starting there and some level with treadmills and giant rats. idk if I dreamed it or what, but back then, I thought it was like... a tutorial level that only played the first time you played the cartridge or something. Years later messing around with emulation I was like, "Oh hey I can finally go check out that level." Yeah, no, that level does not exist. lol
Sometimes a cameo is just a cameo. As for why K. Rool steals the banana hoard, I always figured it's an act of dominance. Like how in The Hobbit, Smaug steals all the Dwarves' treasure, but can't really use it. But it displays his power and dominance. And since the characters in DKC are animals, they don't really need more reason than that.

I may have an answer for the whole "barrel" thing I feel like Barrels in general are just average tools that Kongs have used over their lifetime. I don't think Cranky was the reason why they became obsessed with em. For example at the DK area at Super Nintendo World, in the Golden Temple section we can see hieroglyphics on the wall, depicting a Kong throwing barrels, which means they have been used since the Ancient Kong era (I'm pretty sure there are more examples of this, this is just what I can think of rn). I think this might also explain the magical properties they seem to have, I know Cranky is really smart but I don't think he created floating barrels n stuff. But that's not all, remember Bluster Kong? He is the CEO of "Bluster's Barrelworks", a factory specifically made to manufacture barrels. We only ever see one factory in the show, but it's not hard to believe that there are multiple factories. After Bluster's mysterious disappearance, the said factories were abandoned, they were repurposed by the Kremlings and the Manky Kongs to start their diabolical schemes.

I mean if you think about it Candy has her custom barrel for saving as well. But this would have taken a lot of time to put them all over the island. Thats why I say Cranky.

So, as a kid, I kind of made up my own head canon as to why K.Rool and the Kremlings stole the bananas. I figured that they knew the island was mostly populated by primates, and much like my child self, thought bananas were their primary food source. Now, crocodiles are carnivorous. And they do eat monkeys. So, it just made sense to me that they would steal the Kong's primary food source, so that they would be too weak to fight back, and thus easier to catch and eat.
@jiggylookback Ooh, that's a good one. Kind of like a monkey Uber Eats. Meals on wheels sort of thing. Which begs the other question of...K.Rool employed beavers...why not just eat them?

Nice video
Thank you!! :)
That was it ?...
Ohhhhhh banana
So, as a kid, I kind of made up my own head canon as to why K.Rool and the Kremlings stole the bananas.
I figured that they knew the island was mostly populated by primates, and much like my child self, thought bananas were their primary food source. Now, crocodiles are carnivorous. And they do eat monkeys. So, it just made sense to me that they would steal the Kong's primary food source, so that they would be too weak to fight back, and thus easier to catch and eat.
@@nicksrandomreviews ooo or they wanted to draw them out to them. Could very well be.
@jiggylookback Ooh, that's a good one. Kind of like a monkey Uber Eats. Meals on wheels sort of thing.
Which begs the other question of...K.Rool employed beavers...why not just eat them?
Dude just do 4:3 ratio don't make everything wide and stretched.
Alright you’re number 2. I’m keeping track of how many people tell me this.
I personally never like when people do the 4:3 and have the black bars or a gradient or something behind. This doesn’t look bad to me.
But if enough people push me I’ll do it. I don’t hear it very often tho. I made a poll in my community post. Go vote!
I literally couldn't care less about ratio.
