    Summary:
This presentation is a testament to the expertise and dedication of Dr. Ford, who provides practical, evidence-based strategies to naturally lower blood pressure and promote overall health.
The discussion emphasizes key methods, including breathing exercises like the 4-4-8 technique to stimulate the vagus nerve and improve heart rate and blood vessel function.
Additionally, isometric exercises, such as handgrip techniques, are highlighted for their ability to reduce systolic pressure.
The doctor advocates for addressing root causes of hypertension, such as metabolic disease and insulin resistance, through lifestyle changes.
Recommendations include reducing processed carbohydrates, adopting a balanced low-sodium diet (like the DASH diet), exercising regularly with a mix of aerobic, resistance, and high-intensity interval training, and managing stress through techniques like deep breathing.
The importance of sleep hygiene and the impact of reducing smoking, alcohol, and junk food consumption are also discussed.
Supplements such as vitamin C, garlic, and citrulline are presented as additional tools, though the emphasis remains on the superior efficacy of lifestyle changes.
The video concludes by addressing common mistakes in measuring blood pressure and encourages seeking personalized medical advice for persistent hypertension.

Actually, he didn’t recommend a DASH diet. He clarified that DASH is about lowering sodium and he said that most people get high sodium in processed and ultra processed foods. He said getting sodium in meats and fermented foods are not a problem. Bottom line is removing processed foods and ultra processed foods

sits on passenger seat; you drive. As the driver, you can certainly listen to the suggestions or the passenger, but eventually will need to take the decision of how to drive and its responsibility. Similarly, listen to the doctor, but take your own decisions and responsibility.

Before starting a "ketovore" diet in May 2024, my blood pressure was hovering around 140/82 on average. I had white coat syndrome, so it was even higher when measured in my doctor's office. By removing most carbohydrates, refined and natural, I saw my blood pressure quickly lower to 125/70. Now after 8 months it is averages around 117/68. I did also add a garlic supplement for awhile and now nattokinase, so those might have helped as well.

I did the grip exercises for months and didn't notice any changes. However my job requires a little bit of grip strength and I usually get grip exercises during work on most days.
Another theory about why this works may be how the benefits of BFR (blood flow restrictive) training can benefit the cardiovascular system. Gripping may be restricting the blood flow in a similar manner.

I always gathered (from several sources of information) that it's beneficial to breathe IN through the nose, and OUT slowly, through the mouth, with an exhale through a smaller exit, as if you were saying "oooo". Lately, though, there was advice to breathe in AND OUT through the nose. It had something to do with preserving Nitrous Oxide, which helps with blood flow. If someone could straighten me out with this info, I'd appreciate it. BTW, the 4-4-8 method feels great (but...I need to get a blood pressure monitor!), and I feel better! THANKS. 👍

I had attacks of hyperventilating for years, as I was a nervous child. At twenty seven years old, I had gall bladder surgery, which resulted in apnea, which wasn't diagnosed until 30 years later, I developed Afib, from not being diagnosed sooner. I asked my Gastro doc, if my symptoms could have anything to do with my vagul nerve, and he said no, but, I felt the fight or flight syndrome had something to do with controlling my stress level, and sleep apnea. I have HBP, and try to control breathing, and this method is easy rptomremember, and can be done anywhere, so I will follow it and, hopefully it can help with the Afib.

I am 66, took my blood pressure tonight. 102/61. My secret is 40 years of cycle racing and training. My blood sugar was checked yesterday at 5.1 mmol / litre and my resting heart rate can get down to 45 at the moment, not quite at my fittest. Tonight I did 1 hour on zwift at aerobic threshold ( 170 bpm ) and averaged 25.2mph average, over the full hour, burning 777 kcal in that time. Any type of breathing technique won't remove any arthosclerosis you may have, which is the main worry with high blood pressure ? A life long healthy lifestyle with exercise will reduce it's development and recent studies are indicating that high intensity exercise done over prolonged periods may reduce it.

It's like saying the man who invented jogging died early. On the whole high intensity exercise is good for you. Like I said a lot of my aquaintences of a similar age are obese, have diabetes or dead. I'm not and am the fittest, slimmest person of my age that I know personally. Heavy breathing or whatever this guy seems to think will right the wrongs of a sedentary lifestyle is wrong.

I was thinking to increase my vitamin k2 since I am mostly vegetarian 😀As a result of these two daily intakes, I had a weird afib type situation that landed me the hospital. Fortunately the Nuclear stress test came in normal. Wanted to share, fermented foods can and do raise blood pressure if taken in higher amounts. Especially with high sodium. I totally concur on the high carbs do increase BP. Intermittent fasting with going vegan for just 15 days had wonders on my lipid levels, insulin and BP.
