I didn't come up with it, probably someone in an unknown forum shared it for the first time in 2001 or something haha. Though I'm glad you liked the video and that it worked!
Using dental floss is such a great tip, thank you very much. Used it due to lack of a springbar tool and it worked perfectly the first time I tried. Great video :)
I used dental floss to remove spring bars from my jubilee strap. I guess that's the best method 😆👏 It was tough and challenging to use the spring bar tool 😅 I'm more into nato straps now 👍
I have a Seiko SKXA35 and it's impossible. The floss simply breaks. The spring tool doesn't seem to latch on to anything. WTF did they make it like this?
Try to make the floss go as close to the lug as possible and pull it inbetween the lug und springbar before you try to pull it out. If you were already doing that (if even possible), then that's really unfortunate. I hope you manage to resolve it!
@@angeldc54 Those on the more premium prospex divers are decent from what I've seen. But yes, Seiko really needs to improve their straps and bracelets!
Try to wiggle the strap a bit after fitting the floss around the spring bar so it gets to the point where the spring bar enters the case. My floss never broke, though I had to use some force, which made the floss really dig into my fingers...
@@TimeHeim I had no straps in as I was using a nato strap, had to end up taking it to the shop and have ordered a spring bar tool in the meantime. Thanks though 👍🏼
DUDE the floss worked INSTANTLY!!!! Thank youuuuuu!!!!!
Great tip! The dental floss worked a treat and it gave my watch a lovely minty freshness! 😂
It took a few tries, but I'm happy to report the floss technique worked! Thank you.

Thank you for this helpful tip 👍
I’m going to try the floss trick.thanks for the tip
I tape around the edges when removing spring bars.
Seems like a safe way to do it. Great tip! I will use that if I ever get a luxurious watch that I'm more afraid of scratching. Thanks!

I'm glad it helped! Did you use a spring bar tool or did you use floss?

Seiko makes great watches.
Seiko's straps are the most uncomfortable in the world.

I think something is wrong with my spring bar, the floss keeps breaking 😢
