I find artfully draping my cats on my bed helps to create a luxurious ambiance. I have trained them over the years so they do it completely on their own. I like that your tips can be applied to a variety of styles.
We downsized our house and now every room must have at least two ways it can be used. My dining room is also a mini library and contains two comfy wing back chairs for reading. I bought a narrow farm table so it wouldn’t take up too much room. It looks like an old library table. I also use the room as my photography studio when I do still life work. So that room has 3 functions. My old house was so much bigger and had rooms that only got used at Christmas. Waste of space. I’m also enjoying my lower utility bills
I live in a small home and I realized I can't just have random decor around that serves no purpose other than visual. Like huge vsses, concrete balls on the floor, statues, knick knacks, etc. Make my rooms feel cluttered and messy, even when the pieces are high end quality. Even too many throws and designer pillows make my space look unkempt. Suggestions??, other than buying a mansion.
I have a lounge room that you can’t put anything against a wall without it covering doors, windows, walkways or the wood heater. By painting the two tone walls and trims white and hanging the black curtain rods at the ceiling, it’s added about 1ft of height to the room and it doesn’t feel like it needs a lot in it now. It had roller blinds before and they didn’t help. I’ve done the same thing in the smaller bedroom and am starting on the bathroom. I couldn’t believe the magical effect. By having less in the space the things you do have will look more intentional. It’s true that having the neutral colour palette has a calming effect (and this is from a girl that loves colour). 😊
Look into “knolling”. It’s like finding/creating beauty in functional items simply in the way you store or display them. An example is how people displayed their copper colored jello molds on their kitchen walls in the fifties, or those peg boards people have and curate in garages or home offices.
A few good tips here. It would've been really helpful to actually see photos of small spaces though! So yes to a small space video 🙂. Showing how to furnish/decorate a small room where you are really limited on where you can put furniture would be great too, for example in my lounge there's only one wall I can put the sofa or the armchair, in my bedroom, there's only one wall I can put the wardrobes as I'd have to cut the end of the windowsill off to fit in a wardrobe but it means then that the bed and bedside tables are squashed together as the door opens onto them on the other wall. And try getting a bed frame that you like that's short enough so the wardrobe doors opposite it don't bash into the bed when you open them! Welcome to English homes 😁. A video helping with stylish suitable small room furniture would be fab x
The standards for American homes compared to European homes are very different, their small is normal size for most of the Western world and huge for most of Asia.
Yes, more ideas for small spaces (i.e., storage, art, paint colors, etc). I have an 900 sq.ft. open floor plan condo (1 bedroom, 1 bath). Love your channel!!!❤
I’d love a video on decorating an apartment, where certain things are prohibited-like removing blinds, etc. I’m so obsessed with you channel and style! I love drinking coffee along with you as I watch. 😊❤
Hey Valentina! Literally searched this yesterday. Lol. Looks like you can add mind-reading to your skill set. I love this and the new channel update. Thank you so much.
More small space recommendations please!!! I'm always looking for ideas for our small home. I would appreciate advice for low ceilings as well. Love your channel!!
Your design ideas are always so great! I'm hooked on your channel. I'd love if we were able to submit a few photos and have u give a few of us viewers tips on furniture arrangement, etc. A lot of us are mostly working with what we've got but could use a few budget-friendly changes.
Maryanns 4096, Yes! My apartment's 2 bdrm/700 sq ft. Every 3ft there's another doorway, so it's a challenge to keep a pathway and have any furniture placement make sense at the same time.
Today I’m assembling a new office desk with black U shape legs and a kitchen bench top in the best faux grey marble laminate best print I’ve ever seen and you can’t tell unless you look at the 3 sides that are against the walls or up close for the repeat pattern. It’s 2.4m x 60cm and looks modern and lux. I had the new bench top in storage so it’s only cost me AUD $115 for the legs. I’d never have thought of doing this if it wasn’t for Valentina. Thank you for the inspiration! ❤
FINALLY!!! Thank you for sharing your home cleaning service!! We all know you were not doing it yourself girl!!😂 Your home is beautiful and the level of cleanliness is not humanly possible to get done when you are as busy as you seem to be. Thank you for being honest so we busy women don’t feel shame
Love small spaces videos! I would love to see more. Did something happen at the 8:00 minute mark? The transition seemed like I may have missed something when you were giving bookcase recommendations. Don't want to miss anything!😊
Thank you! I have found from watching your channel that a cohesive color palette throughout allows me to not feel overwhelmed in 850 sf. I personally would like guidance on when to choose open storage to closed storage, so not to feel cramped, how and when to consider matching the legs of furniture pieces, the proper height of side tables to sofa/chairs, and nightstands/lamps to the bed height. I love your new channel/s and expansion of content.
More small space videos. One trick I have executed is purchasing longer length velvet drapes; this I got from you. It works! My spaces look bigger. Thank you Valentina. More more more.
Yes please, very helpful I live in a very small space I bought a place and had to come in a do much of the major repairs hvac, electrical etc. I’ve painted and had the kitchen updated and bath gutted now it’s down to “ furnishings” I’ve started but it getting overwhelming.
Yes, absolutely more tips and tricks for small spaces. We are going to be downsizing to a smaller house and I am just starting to think about all the things that go into (or not into 🤣) that. Thank you sooo much for this video. ❤❤❤❤
They probably have a husband like mine... Our 55" television is already too big for our little living room and he keeps bugging me about getting a 65"!! 🙄 He says "my friends all have bigger tvs in the same size space." Yea well those friends are also all single 🤣
I love your coffee cup & saucer. I always look forward to your videos for inspiration. I even bought a bar cart for a “cookie bar” at Christmas, but for now-I’m using it for a portable “office” in my dining room, which is bathed in beautiful light. I just love you. You never disappoint.
Love this one! I have a 886 sq.ft. condo. Thank you for the small space tips, and definitely, yes, more small space videos. 😊 Specifically, the typical condo "tube" as I call it. And I have a desk and file cabinet. I did go the loveseat route to save space, and I should have kept my longer couch. Just not sure what I would've done with the "office" space.
Definitely need more small room videos. We have 3 rooms, each 16x16, one is kitchen/dining/living rooms combined with area reserved to build stairs; one is the bedroom/bathroom/closet; one is laundry & storage/library/office/sewing&craft. Im looking for a tapestry to hang in front of the television in the living area and ordering a loveseat and ottomans. Area is too small for chairs so ottomans will provide extra seating. The library combo room is the next to design. Hoping to move in by mid February
I live in small space, and trying to make my house functional and beautiful. I have the empty place on top of kitchen cabinets. Empty space; how do I utilize that space and not make it look outdated? I value your opinion, you were my inspiration to redecorate my whole house! It has been over 10yrs, it was time!!
I don’t have room in my bedroom to swing a hamster , let alone add a chair or a footstool 😳🇬🇧. P.s well done Valentina for speaking through your great tips. I hope your throat feels better soon ❤️🩹xx
Can you do a video with actual small spaces. Do you any budget friendly ideas. Rich are great but always practical. Your ideas are great for generally larger spaces.
Those were great ideas Valentina. However, I personally wouldn't consider the rooms you showed to be "small spaces". I live in a 1,400 sq ft., 3 bedroom ranch, and can barely fit a queen sized bed, nighstand, and bureau in each bedroom. While the rooms you showed looked gorgeous, I could never cram all that furniture and decor in any of my rooms because it wouldnt fit or would look too cluttered.
I’ve been waiting for a video just like this one V, my home isn’t a huge home as we downsized once our children left home, most of what you recommended I have put together in my home, some might say my home isn’t small but compared to what we once had, it’s small to me and trying to decorate it the way I want it has been a bit of a challenge But with your decor ideas I’ve been able to incorporate them into my spaces, the one thing that did surprise me was going for a larger couch, I have a large couch and always thought it too big for my tv room but after watching this video, I now know that I made the right choice, I know my husband will be thrilled with this Lol 😂 as I’ve been wanting to replace it and it’s not that old or cheap, I have a chair in our main bedroom that was my Grandmas that I had redone to suit our bedroom and it looks lovely, I’m in the process of looking for new bedside cabinets that are functional. Thank you so much for sharing this video, I’d say it’s one of your best advice videos for small spaces. Have a Great Day. 🖤🤎🤍🩶☕️

I find artfully draping my cats on my bed helps to create a luxurious ambiance. I have trained them over the years so they do it completely on their own. I like that your tips can be applied to a variety of styles.
I, too, have developed my skills in this area and the result is STUNNING.
🤣🤣
I couldn’t agree more - I’m currently using two luxurious, beautiful living creatures who drape nicely on my bed and sofa.
😂
Really? How do you train them to drape? When my 2 jump on the bed it’s more like a cluster f@@k bomb😂
Yes to more small space ideas!

Yes I have the same problem ! :/
Taking off my blinds has made a huge difference
Mirrors and just one or a couple of decorative things at a good scale
I have a lounge room that you can’t put anything against a wall without it covering doors, windows, walkways or the wood heater. Yes use mirrors, they’re great, reflect light and make rooms feel bigger and lighter.

Utilize decorate wall spaces ! That’s what I’m doing (like shelf’s and wall art 🖼️, gallery walls)
Your space sounds nice and open! I have 1000 sq ft but it's crammed with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a laundry room, a kitchen, and a living room 😂
I’d love a video on decorating an apartment, where certain things are prohibited-like removing blinds, etc. I’m so obsessed with you channel and style! I love drinking coffee along with you as I watch. 😊❤

No shelves over beds in CA! 😅 earthquake!
I was thinking the same thing 😂
My sister learned that the hard way!

Oh those photos of the oversized TVs, cracked me up. Makes me scratch my head, and say, what were you thinking? Haha

Yes! More small space videos. I live in a small condo with little wall space. Thanks
So loved seeing Drew's kitchen on another designers chanel. He did such an amazing job on it.
Who's Drew?
Yes pls … more ideas for small spaces.
On your coffee table, what kind of flower do you have on it? I really like your video .
Those flowers are so pretty. I wonder where she got them from??
I love your coffee cup & saucer. I always look forward to your videos for inspiration. I even bought a bar cart for a “cookie bar” at Christmas, but for now-I’m using it for a portable “office” in my dining room, which is bathed in beautiful light. I just love you. You never disappoint.
Always actually read my soul in my own personal style ! For years You have been more than Amazing !!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😁
Thank you so much for the kind words!!!!
Love this info. Would love more tricks and design ideas for an average smaller home. Thanks!

I don’t have room in my bedroom to swing a hamster , let alone add a chair or a footstool 😳🇬🇧. P.s well done Valentina for speaking through your great tips. I hope your throat feels better soon ❤️🩹xx
Yay you spelled it correctly , yes Luxe with an E at the end!
Loved the tips and tricks !
Can you do a video with actual small spaces. Do you any budget friendly ideas. Rich are great but always practical. Your ideas are great for generally larger spaces.
@houseofValentina which living room rug from Amazon is it? When I hit the link, the whole list comes up.
These ideas would have been easier to imagine if shown in “small spaces”.
Small is beautiful love that video
Where are those desks from??
Fun fun video!! 🎥
Anyone know where to purchase those beautiful white flowers in the vase on coffee table ?
AKA Kenneth Bailey ❤❤❤😊
Where is the coffee cup and saucer from?
Please do more small space videos! We have a tiny bathroom, entry is a narrow hallway, bedroom closets are very small.
Which rug do you have in your living room that feels silky? The Amazon link takes us to multiple options. Thank you!
Those were great ideas Valentina. However, I personally wouldn't consider the rooms you showed to be "small spaces". What size room dimension is considered small?
Some of those pictures are not small spaces.
Small is a relative descriptor. Small in NYC is different than small in the country. The photos are merely examples, the principles work for different styles of smaller spaces.
Great ideas😊
More small spaces!
Hola ❤
Large rooms also plz!! ❤
TV'S have no business above fireplaces; they are simply too high. From a practical and aesthetic point of view, it's wrong, wrong, wrong!
You finally spelled the word LUXE correctly!
I love the way you use the color "black" in your home but I'm not really a black person. BM Hale Navy is more my color. How do I use color with your example without it being black? Just cannot picture a color change in my mind.
I see our ideas of small spaces are very different. Those pictures you’re showing I’d kill for that much space. When u live in a small place (like my London flat) everything you own has to serve double duty. Owning an item just bc it’s aesthetically pleasing is not an option, it must do that and have a function. You don’t need more useless crap to clutter and clean.
I have a brain injury. My house is just a hair above tiny house size. Ive kept mt colors soothing in the same tone. I have a couple dishes and throws i can switch out seasonally. Its working so far. Less is more. Except with books. I like them. I read them. Im keeping them. Im working on a couple latge art peices. Im going for less peices of furniture with comfortable size. If you cant sleep on your sofa, why have it? I have a vaulted ceiling. Everyone who comes over comes in saying some version of what a small house. Then they look up and say wow. Its big in here. I painted semi gloss brightvwhite onnthe ceiling. So it bounces light around the room. Its optical illusion but it works. Im still working on lighting. Dimmers are a definite upgrade. It looks nice, and with migraines it's fast become something i wouldnt trade. Im reading peoples comments. Small spaces are a challenge Im still learning about.
Sometimes I’m not sure when you give picture examples if you’re saying this is right or wrong. Maybe a tiny check or x ?
❤❤❤
Most of the photos you show aren’t small. Trust me, we had to sell our spacious home & move into my childhood home when my Dad had brain trauma. That bedroom was 10 x 11. House was 960 sf. That was small, that was 4 yrs of challenges. After he passed we built new, still not huge @ 2100 sf ranch, but so much better. My disappointment is these newer open ranch homes don’t have many interior walls. I have so much art I can’t use here.
❤
The word "lux" means "light" in Latin; it is also the brand name of a classic soap. "Luxe" is the French word for "luxury" and the pronunciation is akin to "looks." Sorry; stickler alert!
This isn’t for small spaces. No desk going in my dining space! No added ottoman is fitting anywhere.
Everything you’re showing minus one tiny kitchen- are not small rooms.
Small space ideas... and then shwoing photos off huge spaces. .. uhm ok XD maybe i have another vision of what a small space is, since iam in the netherlands XD we actually know what small is :P I laughed so hard about the fireplace tip, girl... most small spaces DONT HAVE SPACE for a fireplace, they dont have those XD but yeah.. guess i need to find european videos about small spaces.. because this is the 4th american made video that thinks a 4x4 meter or even 5x5 meter is small
So many great, helpful tips in this video, Valentina!! Thank you so much!
