So excited to share some of my favorite ideas to Maximize Small spaces! This was such a fun video to put together and there’s a few easy peasy tips that I think will surprise you! Let me know what tip is your favorite! Happy Sunday friends! ❤
We tried our best to find images that represented the design concepts I was speaking about. We looked for hours and hours for images, as we felt it was important to represent the tips I was teaching most of all❤️
I love all of these ideas!!! Ashley you’re simply amazing and your content is short, simple, sweet, and straight to the point!!! You talk about design/decorating without trying to sell anything, but suggestions on how to make our houses look and feel more like home!!!
Thank you so much for that sweet comment, it truly made my day!! We try to create videos that are helpful and inspiring, so reading your kind words just made my heart so happy!!
Recently widowed, I've just downsized from my large family home to a much smaller retirement home closer to my family. Your video timing is perfect! Thank you for these very useful tips.
Enjoying your channel content. We live in a smaller space by todays standards in the USA, and have too much dark furniture, from items received from our parents after they passed. I need to downsize some of those items however my husband isn’t open to that. Looking at your beautiful home for inspiration and learning your tips should help me in making more conscious decisions about what we are able to keep.
@@valerierandall3640 thank you for watching! The first step in creating a home you love is awareness of what’s working and what’s not, and it sounds like you’re doing a great job at that! These things take time, especially when you’re dealing with family heirlooms. Good luck in your design process! ❤️❤️
Loved this video! By the way, you look incredible. I can’t tell what’s different, but whatever you’re doing keep at it. Looking forward to next week’s post.
A standard plastic trash barrel..is an an inch or so smaller than the round table tops…one seen in bedroom shot…so…you can remove legs use the top and glass right on top of the barrel ( with the floor length cloth cover). You have a whole barrel for..off season clothing, crafts etc…
I utilize trays atop glass tables. They cut down on a cluttered look, minimize the amount of glass cleaning you have to do, and leave some openness around the table edges.
@@ashleychilders Exactly. I have coordinating black trays on each of the end tables on both ends of my sofa. Even though they don't match each exactly, and neither do the glass top end tables, they bring cohesiveness and the slight variances add visual interest that wouldn't be there if everything matched exactly.
As a former school librarian, I LOVE neat and tidy. My children think I go overboard but everything needs it own special place. Unfortunately, we just sold our home and moved. I cannot find anything!!!!!
I feel your pain, kay! It will just take a bit if time... I'd b trying to get most things into plastic tubs (rectangular not square, cos rectangles fit into fridge, on shelves into wardrobes). Best regards. G Ire
@@ashleychilders I absolutely love your style. My house is little. This type of content was super helpful. Love your style. Wish I could afford some pieces from your line of products. Thats ere absolutely gorgeous! I tried looking for dupes of your items ans no luck. lol! One of a kind pieces that’s for sure. 👍
I'm just not seeing small rooms here. What on earth are you talking about? Apparently you have a different definition of "small" compared to the average home.

Lots of good tips and beautiful rooms but I didn’t see one space that was small.

Love the curved furniture and corner illumination idea. Thanks!
Oh yay!! Yes, those are two of my favorites, and they make such a big difference!
Thanks so much for this video. The idea of lighting corners is advice I'd never heard before. I'm eager to try it right now!
Oh yay!!! Yes, it’s a really good one! My favorite way of making a room feel completely different, especially in the evening!
I had just been thinking of using large night stands with drawers to replace my end tables in my living room for more storage.
That’s such a great idea!!! I love it! 👏👏👏

Thanks so much Ashley! I have a small kitchen nook and the round table advice was just what I needed!
Oh yay!!! I love hearing that! Round tables are a game-changer! 👏❤️
Great timing, because I am currently updating my small space. Thank-you!

Space saving inserts is a genius idea!
I’m so glad you like that one!!! ❤️❤️
The usage of lights and how to place the different them in various places.
I love that one too!! Thanks for watching!
My favorite, number 10. Love all your examples but especially love the cozy feel of your 10th display. Would love to see more examples. Thank you.
Thank you so much! And thanks for watching!!❤️

❤ all your ideas Ashley!
So kind!!! Thank you for watching! ♥️

I love the idea!! Trays are so helpful to corral accessories and books and keep things looking pretty and tidy!

This was so helpful as I plan out my very small living room! Any chance you know paint color of the room at point 1:17?
I love hearing that! I’ll ask my design assistant if she knows the color!
Perfect video, thank you very much.
🥰♥️ Thanks so much for watching!!
As a former school librarian, I LOVE neat and tidy. My children think I go overboard but everything needs it own special place. Unfortunately, we just sold our home and moved. I cannot find anything!!!!!

Great tips! Thanks!
Thanks for watching! ❤️
Exactly! ❤
☺️❤️
Thanks for a nice video, I like the examples you've chosen. For tip 1, did you mean to say analogous color palette instead of complementary?

She’s never been in a 900 sf NYC apartment!
I had the same thought. I think the idea of what’s small is regional. 900 sq ft is spacious in my city 🙂.
@@angellas.1314 or a 764 sq ft house.
None of the images are small spaces pretty but not small
Love your tips! My house is 913sf so I will use them!
Oh yay!!! I love hearing that! ☺️❤️
Images of rooms shared don’t appear small. And not because the ideas are working; rather the rooms just aren’t small.
I agree. In a small space you can’t store your spices in a drawer, your kitchen is going to have very limited storage. I’m done watching lol
please share where the pillows from your sofa are from 😊
They’re kind of a hodgepodge, but most are from Etsy!
Not to sound crazy but your living room area is bigger than my whole apartment LoL ❤❤❤
Ha! I totally get it, my daughter's NYC apartment is about the size of my pinky finger, lol. But, I hope you found some useful tips in the video!
❤❤❤
🥰♥️♥️
I’m sorry, but I think these ideas are pretty obvious if you live in a small space. Storage, storage storage.
Your 'small spaces' are normal to large in Europe, 😆
😅😅 well shoot. 😆 but I do love cozy European rooms, there’s just nothing more charming!! ❤️
@@ashleychilders And cheaper to heat, lol. I do envy basements in America, you can change out decór so easily
👍
🙏💙🙏💙🙏💙
To me, a small room space is 11' x 7'
None of these spaces are small. Each living room in the photo is larger than my entire apartment...
These are Not small spaces!!
examples are not exactly from small spaces, I guess "small" is relative
We tried our best to find images that represented the ideas I was speaking about. We wanted to show visual representations of the concepts most of all ❤️❤️
Oh my goodness these are not small spaces. So disappointing. I won’t be subscribing sadly
I’m sorry you felt that way. We try our very best to find images that relate to the design principles I’m teaching. Best wishes ❤️
