Love these videos. Big fan. Quick question/comment perhaps plot hole. After the Reyne-Tarbeck Rebellion...what became of the mines, riches, gold..etc. As the Lannisters were admittedly broke, why did they not dig that up? Could you develop this in a video?
Agreed, though I would have loved to see the dude who played Longshanks in Braveheart take a crack at it. Appropriate since ol' Tywin was based on Edward I.
Tywin lannister is the best character, at first glance he does not seem to be "complex" but that is because he is in his 60's already as a character. But he is such a well written character and commands respect. One of my favoirte players of the game.
Everyone fears him, everyone respects him, everyone tries to be him and all fail to do so except for Tyrion. Cersei continually claims how she's the female Tywin but when you look at her actions you can clearly see that she never understood her father. She thought herself clever but she allowed emotion to rule her and therefore was too brutal and too arrogant and too weak willed to bring Joffrey to heal
Cersei essentially turned into the mad queen, executing anyone that threatened her position, and executed part of a plan the mad king had to self destruct king's landing. She burned many people alive.
:) at first glance might seem like some "boring scenes" but once u are a bona fide GOT fan, they quickly become great scenes....Tywin knew she was hiding her idenity for a reason, and the inherent respect for her and admiration of her was there, but the real question I have is the only question truly left unanswered "what would he have done with Arya if he knew it was Arya Stark?" and not just a high born, but the high born of his enemy.
There is a lot of even to adapt . The conquest of dorne , the blackfyre rebellion, the adventures of the hedge knight ,and then maybe Tywin as the hand and Robert’s rebellion.
that would be better than having a show focused on fckng jon snow. By having Tywin Lannister's story we would also have the king becoming mad story, the re-grow of house Lannister. Joanna Lannister. Rhaegar and Robert at his best if it reaches until the rebellion. Barriston at his best. Tyrion's birth, the fcked up relationship between Cersei and Jaime etc... I can't see a better pre-sequel than a pre Robert rebellion one, having Tywin on the main cast. It would only be a shame that it wouldn't be Charles Dance performing though, because he was the best casting possible. I wonder which young actor could portray such a strong intimidating presence the way Charles did.
Tywin is the greatest villain of all time. Voldemort and Sauron are just generic devil characters. Tywin is a real human, a villain you would meet in real life. A villain with clear motives, who uses his social skills to dominate all others. He is an amazing character and I love him.

I LOVE these long form analysis videos. Even if it’s all info I’ve heard 100 times before, I enjoy hearing it all again. I’ll be really glad if this is a sign that Rawrist is gonna make more vids like this in the future
Tywin made two big mistakes in life. One, he didn't nurture the relationships with the people closest to him. And two, he tried to do everything himself instead of making disciples. When he died it all fell apart.
Tywin the Great Lion of the Rock, The best Hand of the King of westeros in history, Warhero of the Nine penny kings war (5th Blackfyre), former best friend of the king Areys the second, one of the most sharpest mind in westeros history. He was also inspired by King Edward the first. But his Legacy is not worth it.
He was killed by his own son and he was too blind and didn’t even realize that his legacy is a lie because of his daughter had an toxic relationship with her twin brother. His grandson has no rights to be king. After his death his kids destroyed everything he worked so hard all in ashes. His legacy is totally worthless. His only surviving son still alive but he never loved but always hated him, now his carry his father’s only line. Plus his more like a John of Gaunt who was chancellor to king Richard the second basically a real life king Joffrey, mad boy king.
Would love a GOT anthology sorta thing. Like 1 season would cover the war of the 9 penny kings, another would cover Robert's rebellion, and another for the andal invasion, etc etc.
I fell in love with tywin character when he asked Tyrion why is it right to kill thousands of men in battlefield than to kill a dozen in at a wedding, of course it was not honorable and was cruel but it saved lives eventually, we hated tywin for this because we as viewers grew attached to the Starks, but tbh tywin pulled an excellent strategy there, as Tyrion said it's hard to keep the 7 kingdoms United but the seven kingdoms were always United in the fear of Tywin Lannister, just these lines show that tywin truly possessed qualities an effective king should have, he was cruel when he had to be but didn't enjoy cruelty, it was something which he had to do to make sure his house was feared, he used every tool available to him effectively and efficiently to ensure he was always in control, probably my absolute favorite character both in the books and the tv show
Defeating them in battle wasn't enough , Tywin left no room for lord Turbach to rise up again against the Lannisters . After the battle he beheaded : - lord Turbach - his sons - his nephews - cousins - daughter's husbands - the babies - the pets - the pet's pups and anyone that displayed the Turbach sigil ... DAMN , Tywin was pissed ! :D
You missed a critical detail about Tywin's commands in 1st Tarbeck rebellion. After Lady Ellin takes three Lannister hostages, Tywin wants to kill Lord Tarbeck and make him into three pieces and send them to Tarbeck hall in exchange for the hostages! Kinda shows you this guy doesn't fuck around even when he was a relatively young knight in his twentys.
Easily the coolest and most terrifying character in GOT.....IMO at least. Whenever Charles Dance gets going, it gives me flashbacks of being grounded......NO TV......NO VIDYA GAMES......NO SKATEBOARDS......GO to your room!.....*shudder*
Is it known wich of the three (supposedly) westerlands houses refused to sell their valyriansteel swords to Tywin? This sounds like events that could have happend around the time Tywin demanded the paypack of loans to his vassals.

ok... so just imagine... a young knight from the vale who is brave but lacks the attention to detail, like young Jamie Lannister, arrives at the Rock for the first time to join a feast. threw out the day he consumes a lot of wine and it only gets worse once the actual feasting begins. With such abundance in wine and meat. ooh the meat so soft it melts in your mouth... but i supposed for a lion such as yourself that is more of a necessity, than a luxury" The hall fell as silent as a windless night on the wall as Lord Tywin's eye catches the young knights.
