    Hi Nev, I have been watching your vids for a while now and find them very informative. In another "Beginners" video can you cover how to attach the soft plastics to the leader, the leader to the braid and the best ways to swap the soft plastics/leader in the field when changing structures. Also do you use snaps and /or swivels?

    • @NevsFishing
      @NevsFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers for the suggestions, I might take a couple of those ideas. Also I never use any snaps or swivels with plastics.

    just come across your channel, I've watched 1 or 2 videos, this being the 3rd, I'm enjoying the videos, good quality, and very informative. I'm just getting into lure fishing, and these videos are hopefully going to learn and land my first lure-based fish. I have a few lures that I'm not sure about, that I got given, and I'm not sure if they're good or not. Maybe I could show u a pic of them on insta or something if you're comfortable with that. Another thing I wanted to ask, was does it matter if I use mono? And what are the differences between mono and braid? One last thing, what should I do if the river I'm fishing is really wide, like 200m+?

    Good little video Nev👍🏽. How do you find the atomic rods. I used to run the atomic estuary rod. Found the line would get wrapped around a lot. Couldn’t quite decide whether it was the braid I was using on if the tip was too soft

    Hi Nev, If you could suggest 2x rod and reel combo's for land based fishing, what would you suggest? Thanks

  • @NoOne56488
    @NoOne56488 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    going to need heavier weights depending on the area and how strong the current and winds are is for pier fishing and if you want to hit the bottom or not. I stepped up my wights to 1/2oz on a 3/0 hook on a 3inch paddle tail they cast out better and also i found they hit the bottom better and swim a bit better. You mileage may vary depending on conditions tho.
    Also for lures, the general rule is if you fish with a 4 inch plastic you want a 4inch jighead (4/0)

  • @allreadydone
    @allreadydone 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks Nev for great and informative video, pretty much confirms what I have been doing, but have yet to land my first fish on a soft plastic. Question: how do you find the drop offs or deeper water?

    • @NevsFishing
      @NevsFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In smaller systems finding the deeper water usually isn’t that difficult (it’s somewhere near the middle) but on a bigger body of water it can be challenging. Also usually you can see the drop offs where it goes from very shallow to deeper

    • @NevsFishing

    How come every fishing video I watch they put the fish back in the ocean. Why not eat it?
    Fish are like $50 each these days.
    Seems pointless shoving a hook in a fish’s mouth, take a picture while he suffocates and then throw him back in the ocean.
