- It's been about a year since the Super Mario Iceberg craze, as I'm making this video! I honestly really enjoyed making those Super Mario 64 Iceberg videos, so I've been meaning to make some more! This time, we're checking out the Super Mario Odyssey Iceberg and some of the many mysteries of Super Mario Odyssey!

Fun fact about the first mystery: according to a 1993's Nintendo character guide, Mario is not classified as "homo sapiens" but "homo nintendonus".
Even if I do not believe it was on purpose, it kinda justifies why Mario does not look like other humans in his own universe.

My theory is that all Nintendo characters from games are all sub species belonging to their own game, like this:

I think the paintings were taken down once visitors were allowed into the castles, when Bowser was defeated, Peach thought it was unsafe for visitors so she took them down and hid them somewhere.
the fun part is theorizing where she hid them
This was definitely stated somewhere in the game (I think in the Kingdom Guide).

That would make more sense. But it's really hard to tell what they're actually saying since they speak so incoherently.

The last theory can be easily debunked. If you play the game in 2 player mode, Player One controls Mario, and Player Two controls Cappy. This proves that Cappy is not a parasite, not controlled by a player (in this example, Player One) and doesn't have control over Mario

4:46 from what i remember, someone said that princess peach was so rich that she bought 2 castles; one for resting(?), and one for paintings. So maybe, during the events of super mario 64, Peach was at the painting castle when bowser struck, and after the events of super mario 64, the painting castle was abandoned.

For peach’s castle looking different from the one in 64, I always thought Peach had multiple castles in different part of the Mushroom Kingdom probably to rules over the land easier

Adding to the "newdonkers mistery": In Mario Golf's DLC, Pauline is shorter than her appearence in odissey; that's because she looks with a very obvious height difference between her and the newdonkers there...

A lot of iceberg videos are actually pretty good though. RetroGamingNow made an amazing Minecraft iceberg video and kickstarted his whole channel with it
About the last mystery: if you look at the frog's capture bio, it says they wear tiny hats for 'self defense' implying that cap kingdom residents are notorious for possessing people without their consent.

In terms of Peach's castle being different, I think the events of Mario Galaxy explained this. After you win the game, you learn that the Universe will be created again and again endlessly, but never quite exactly the same. And once you return home, Mario exclaims, "Welcome New Galaxy!" Indicating, they are indeed in a new universe. So it seems to be a multiverse kind of situation, which can easily explain why things are different now than how they were before Mario Galaxy.
Mario 3D world and Mario odyssey are alternate realities of each other so
about the dead Mario theory, honestly, any theory with "X is actually dead/dreaming/hallucinating/in a coma all along" is the laziest thing i ever hear, like people love putting that up because they hate fictional universes breaking our universe's physics because it's fictional

My theory is that the castle in odyssey is the same one found in super mario 64, but they had to remove some of the rooms and "magical paintings" so tourists from new donk wouldn't accidentally fall into the paintings

Can you really blame Peach for ditching those paintings? One was an actual war between the bomb folk. That's just got liability written all over it.

Both Super Mario Odyssey and Super Mario 64 are among some of my favourite games in the Mario franchise and for good reason: the mysteries and conspiracy theories surrounding this beloved franchise. That's what I love about Nintendo: their games have a lot of creativity and mystery that seemingly can't be found anywhere else.

He's saying. "I just won today". The Isle Delfino dlc rumor is pretty much that. Don't people think developers can add things like that as an "easter egg"? I does not mean the island "must" be in the game. It can be a simple easter egg or homage. This is why disappointment hit's people with a grand k.o. in their jaw because they hype themselves to death.

You've mastered Mario 64 with you hands, but have you mastered it with your body?

Personally, I think that the reason why we see different looks at Mushroom kingdom and Mario's world as a whole is because "the cycle of life continues, but it doesn't repeat itself quite the same way..." according to Rosalina in Mario Galaxy. We can see how it's a cycle for Mario to keep going into old and new adventures all the time, but with twists every single time. This could probably explain how SM64 DS could be cannon and how the Super Mario Land games are in a different universe since Mario dates Daisy and has a huge castle and island unlike the other games where he's just living in a normal house.

I think the universe reseting in SMG 1 is what changed the castle
I think that since cappy said that bowser attacked the cap kingdom, bowser turned that beautiful place into the black place we see now

I my opinion, they should have kept the paintings, but made them the harder boss fights you can find in mushroom kingdom.
I didn't like SM64 and then I didn't like 3D Land... and then I loved 3D World and Odyssey, and now I'm playing 3D Land and I quite like it.
I wonder if I'll like SM64 if I try again now, I feel like 3D World was so well made it primed me for actual proper 3D Mario.

I came up with the theory about Mario being captured as a Bonnetor mentions "What do you think is cool to capture at the moment" Suggesting that they could capture things rather than helping someone else capture them.
As I hear it, the Crazy Cap man at 2:40 says "I've just woken up." refering to the nighttime scene before.

I never thought it was the same castle, I'm willing to believe they have moved or Bowser has successfully destroyed a castle or two and that to save time they just reuse a base blueprint whenever they build a new castle.
As evidenced in smm2, they seem to build new castles after the old ones are destroyed

About the first theory - Maybe everyone in New Donk City looks different because of Weird Mushroom introduced in Super Mario Maker because even though everyone in Mushroom Kingdom looks kinda cartoony, Wario, Waluigi and Rosalina look the same, but they're obviously not from Mushroom Kingdom (Wario and Waluigi are german, Rosalina from another planet)

People keep bashing the Mario is dead theory but I think it sounds really solid.
Unlike most other “X is dead” theories. This game actually has a lot to do with possession and ghostly powers.

I will stand by the fact that a street performing Rosalina is such a big missed opportunity (imagine in a Odyssey spiritual atleast successor, her, peach, and Pauline somehow are doing duets and trio songs together with singers like the one from jump up superstar)

The idle delfino thing I honestly doubt it was ever planned to be an area. They just had it there as a little Easter egg
On the Peach's Castle, debacle, Peach's Castle has been destroyed a few times. First it was taken up to the sky Paper Mario, which would definitely leave the castle in ruin after being brought back to the ground. Then it was completely ruined in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story where it was turned into a giant mech and then destroyed by Giga Bowser. Finally, it was completely remade into a Koopa Kingdom replica when it was taken over by Bowser in New Super Mario Bros. U, so it is very possible that Peach's Castle has been remade several times or even moved to a different location

I mean, if you really think of all Mario games, a lot of stuff happened to Peach's castle and everything near it. seriously, it was invaded by Bowser, koopalings, UFOs, aliens and that's only the smallest percentage of all that happened to it.
there's just no way that castle could be same after all of that. it should has been rebuilt countless amounts of times and each time so many things were reconsidered. like, why do they need paintings if Bowser could enter them and steal stars from them?
I hope this could explain differences between Peach's castles in different games.
