@@samuelthecamel Unless you're going into business or a high-demand field like medical, even a degree won't help you. Experience will go a longer way especially today, and you can still get decent paying jobs without a degree.
I read about this dude who had just gotten his Master's degree in Chemistry. He started applying for entry-level positions at universities and research labs, all but two of his applications were ignored. According to him, during one interview the interviewer asked him how much experience he had (the position was "entry-level"), he answered "none", obviously, since he had just gotten his degree. The interviewer reportedly laughed at him.
These days, ironically enough, a degree may be easier to get than the "experience" that so many employers demand from candidates. While some entry-level jobs will advertise that they include training, the employer will still prioritize an experienced candidate over a non-experienced one regardless of which one is more or less educated.
@@samuelthecamel why not learn online instead? there are so many free/cheap opportunities to gain expertise on various jobs/hobbies, its insane (tutorials, forums, skillshare, videos, brilliant .org, etc.). people are starting to realize the full potential of learning through the internet, especially during our current epidemic where most people need to currently work from home.
@@samuelthecamel only in STEM fields will that happen, and those are very competitive. Well paying jobs don't require a college degree tho

Samuel Voltz the reason he got a b+ is likely because he didn’t get the amount of views on a specified time. Just my guess though, the effort of making it is insane.

The best part was that the guy that made it created the custom low-poly models on his own, plus the high-poly graphics.

Say, in your project, maybe you should add elements from the hoax, such as the touch screen being your controls, and the heads up display on the top screen, like how many bit stars you've got, how many coins, as well as the many stars Mario collected. Also, 2P co-op.

True but even so the DS could not handle this and they would not dig this up from a kid back then to make it for the 3ds since it still can't be done. They would have to make it for the switch which would not be possible and Mario is an iconic character by Nintendo so this person should have just made their own game and then try to get a job application. I can see why they got a B+ due to it's not their own game and they don't have the license to actually make this a game. Overall it would be a nice idea but can't be done.

This was genuinely epic! I never ever heard this rumour or even saw the trailer for it all those years ago, but the hoax was definitely worth more than a B+... That prof is crazy.

The first demo is well on it's way, should be out relatively soon. I'm super hyped to be a part of it. Sightseeker, vladnech, Ozzel, Hailbot and Gota7 are some other devs not mentioned.

Wow. Great job there! Question: do you guys know about that other Galaxy Ds Project? They did some amazing stuff but it's not in dev anymore.
we know about the other SMGDS projects, all four of them. the one from 2011 in SM64DS, the one from 2014 also in SM64DS, the one from 2016 yet again in SM64DS and finally the homebrew, which probably got the most traction. I'll assume you're talking about the homebrew and yeah, it is pretty awesome. really pulled some pretty amazing stuff, and certainly benefited from not being bound to SM64DS's engine. a real shame it got cancelled.
*hides hype for poundink profile picture* yeah, it would have taken a lot of time and dedication to finish though. There's actually a decent amount of unused stuff in the rom, but the models are likely from other games.

I remember seeing this back in the day. I was thinking it could possibly be a "DS Download mode" type thing, like you can get from the wii shop demos. but was not a project coming to fruition since there was never any official acknowledgement of it. He did do a damn good job mimicking the DS's style. That was a blast to the past. I used to be a bit of a DS nut back then.

I'm very impressed with that man. Creating the models, animations, etc from scratch with only a few trailers and screenshots as reference? That's a lot of hard, frustrating, time consuming and intense work.
As a kid, I had a Wii but never got SMG since I wasn't the richest kid out there but even if I didn't get this hype it would've fooled me even now because of the quality of the video

I remember DidYouKnowGaming covering this along with other Mario rumours a while ago and thinking it looked impressive, but was glad it wasn’t a real thing.
That said, Belmonte deserved a much better grade than that
Theres actually a Fan-Made project in the works that is actually aiming to recreate super mario galaxy on the ds. They've already got planet gravity and mario physics working great as well as many other numerous features and a few complete stages.
At first thought this was a Lost Bits episode and i was like, wait there was Mario Galaxy on the DS?
Lets hope Pablo can lend a hand to the three gentlemen trying to bring his vision to life!

I mean, we are soon getting a Switch version of Super Mario Galaxy, so yeah, we are finally taking the game on-the-go and any place we go to.
I waited eagerly for Galaxy on the 3ds lol.
Ended up with 3D Land, which was really good and a bit underrated.
Yeah, the New 3DS should be powerful enough to run Super Mario Galaxy, it ran a port of Xenoblade Chronicles (which by the way, is bigger in size and more complex than Galaxy)

The planet at 2:12 is actually in the game files and is called Homeplanet.
Jeez, given the time (and the fact that it was mentioned to be only a month after initial release of Galaxy), that was a really well made trailer.
Makes sense for how successful it was.
There was a person making a engine from scratch to remake galaxy levels. They even had star lauchers, anti gravity and mini planets. But it was discontinued for some reason :'( (i think the demo they made still on TH-cam, the name of the dev is Jesse).

I can confirm that a fan made Mario Galaxy port is being made for the DS. The team plans to recreate a good chunk of the game. Right now a demo isn’t out, but one will be released before the end of 2021.

TL;DR: Super Marip Galaxy DS was a college project made by the guy who made the Nintendo On hoax. The video is noteworthy for not only being believable and extremely well done but also because all the models were based soley off of trailer footage as Mario Galaxy had yet to be released when the video was made.

Besides the rom hack, there is a different team that is making Mario Galaxy for the DS from the ground up. It’s some pretty cool stuff.

2001 kids wya🙋♀️Galaxy was my absolute favorite game(and still is to this day!) and the rumors about it coming to the DS were so convincing. I really hope it gets a switch remake!!

I'm calling BS on his explanation too. "You have to get 500k views on this assignment to pass" is just not something that real classes do, because it isn't realistically achievable without a load of luck.
Also that star-eating luma is one of the creepiest things I've ever seen in connection to a Mario game.
Well, Waluigi _was_ added in a mod for Mario 64 DS. Also, there were some hoaxes revolving around a "Mario Galaxy 3" and HD remakes of the two actual games, but those never occurred.
Damn, I remember I would go on my mom’s computer as a kid and the computer was like a old windows computer and so I would go to IGNs website and check the Nintendo news and so I saw this on TH-cam after that, and I was so happy as a kid I even went to gamestop and asked for it. The dude on GameStop was like “Uhhh, we got Mario 64 DS!” And that’s also how I got to experience the great game that was mario 64 DS. Ahhh, the memories.

About a year afterwards, I made a video which was INSANELY low effort. Just pictures I found lying around on the internet, to make a Super Mario Galaxy 2 and DS video. I scrolled through a word doc with pictures added to it lol. I think I deleted it because of some of the comments were hurting my 11 year old feelings after fooling the masses. I had 50k views or so, by the time I removed it or made it private. The account was HunterMSmith
I have personally never watched this kind of mario galaxy ds trailer but honestly I think I'm happy I didn't watch it so that I could have more hype for Galaxy 2 coming out later
