    34:30 I ran into a guy while hunting High Buck in WA state he had lost his phone. He was solo hunting and where I saw him was over a 10 hour hike in. He was freaking out trying to find it because it had his maps on it. Long story short I bought a blaze orange phone case in case I lost my phone or dropped it I would be able to see it easier. I noticed you're phone cover is black.

    I remember awhile back that you mentioned you get really sweaty feet. I run Injinji coolmax toe sock liners under my Darn Tough socks and since then I've never gone back. They look ridiculous, but it keeps my feet from sweating and I've yet to get a blister in between my toes (or anywhere else for that matter). In 3 seasons of HARD hunting. You should give em a try!

    Big fan, longtime supporter...I'll most likely still get the peax headlamp eventually...however you said in this video there is a green light and if that's true....I'll buy 2 today. It was my understanding it only has red and white color options and that's why I've just stuck with my mediocre blackdiamonds that suck batteries dry fast...and my rechargeable Fenix that has same specs as your Peax.....I'm patiently waiting for a better quality headlamp that has a greenlight. Great gear dump, as per usual

I check TH-cam everyday with the hopes of a new release 😂 I have a dumb question thought, do you store all of your hunting clothes away on totes? Or Do you just keep them in your closet? Great content. I’m a nerd for the gear dumps.

    • @GrittyGearAndPodcast
      @GrittyGearAndPodcast  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha ha! We’ll, here’s the weight details: The pack as featured here is 40lbs-this includes 10 freeze dried dinners and 10 breakfasts. But this pack weight does not include my day food, or my rifle or my spotting scope. Rifle is 7lbs. 10-days of day food is 10lbs. Spotter is 2.3lbs. Total weight I’ll be carrying for a 10-day backpack hunt is 60lbs. 22 lbs of that weight is food. So after I eat my food, I’ll be carrying about 38lbs. of gear. A boned-out buck weighs about 70-80lbs. So about 110-120lbs is my pack-out weight if I am successful and punch my deer tag. Let me know how the nerd inside you feels about these numbers. 😊

    • @360concealment6
      @360concealment6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate that you would take the time to respond. 110-120lbs is savagery, sir. I just came back from a 4 day/3night 22.25 mile round trip hunt with a 66lbs pack, and it was not my favorite thing. I’ll be working to lighten my load.
      I’ll be looking forward to see how your season has gone. Be safe out there.

      Thanks Roy. Here’s the weight details: The pack as featured here is 40lbs-this includes 10 freeze dried dinners and 10 breakfasts.

      @@GrittyGearAndPodcast Good breakdown Brian. Thank you for that info. I have been wondering what a bone-out out mule deer weighs and also what your pack weight would be on a hunt.

    Do you use the saw for the wood stove too or just bone?

    • @GrittyGearAndPodcast
      @GrittyGearAndPodcast  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mostly just the wood stove, but on a recent trip we used the saw a lot on bone because in the area we were in it is required to bring out all the meat including ribs with the bone in. This particular saw works better for wood than bone. It got the job done, but a finer tooth saw works better for bone.

    2 is 1 and 1 is none. Redundancy! Your opinions should evolve with experience. Your gear dump carries a lot more weight with me as you aren't just pushing a line of gear from a sponsor. All items seem to be items that work for you.
