Your Wife & Friends must have Hearts of Gold to put up with all of your escapades! Get the Chaos out of the way & all of your Ducks in a row, a few more months of hard work & all of your tools & Vessels will be ShipbShape! I hope! GOD Bless You & Yours!
Tongue weight stabilizes a trailer. Having too much weight on the back is what makes a trailer get squirrely. No one's probably going to read this but I just wanted to make sure people understood that because you said it the other way.. the more weight you have on the tongue the more stable your trailer is going to fallow.
He said way to much tongue weight and if you have ever towed with to much tongue weight, you’ll know what he talking about. You need a fair amount of weight on the tongue for stability, but too much will destroy it. I’ve had the front wheels of my truck chirping after a dip in the road because the tongue was too heavy. At 62, I’ve finally learned the art of a balanced trailer on long hauls🤣
Im in Galveston tx down south where the crabs dont hibernate lmao but ive been watching you can you inspired me to get my own crab boat and work for myself. Only took till i hit 31 years old and watched alot of your videos to realize that lol
There's definitely a market for them. Expeacially if you ship them up here to Maryland. Even the Chinese Buffets have blue crabs up here now LoL. So again the market is there its iust a matter of building relationships and doing the work.
@IrishAcres I grew up on a small farm out in alvin and didn't get on a boat until I was 27 and got a job as a deckhand on a cruise ship for American Cruise Lines and when I was there I had alot of fun but you work 12-18hrs a day 7 days a week for 9 months. I hated that when I was there but as soon as I came back home I instantly missed being on the water
Quick note when towing dead weight like that boat, put some sort of light drag off the stern. That way the vessel is a link in the chain and a combination of the drag plus thrust will keep everything in line.
I love the lines on that style of boat, very pleasing to the eye.Keep two boats for catching crab and one boat for catching customers, great business model.Wish you the best.
I got into the marine industry a few years ago, following in the footsteps of my MOM who owned a marina when she was my age (28). I have to say.. you’ll never find another line of work where you’ll make the friendships, connections and generally find a sense of belonging and fulfillment other than on the water.. so long as you’re a water lover. Keep it up Luke! You’re an inspiration and an affirmation.
My ancestors were oystermen on Delaware Bay for 200 years. I could pilot a boat before I could ride a bicycle. Glad to see a a grand old workboat getting a second life. Keep on keeping on!
As I said previously, using that old crab boat as your crab stand is a terrific idea. It will advertise itself and will be very fitting for an old crab boat. Good luck in setting it up. I’ll definitely be down there to see it in action and pick up some crabs. While you’re at it, try to get some oysters to sell as well from other growers. That would certainly help in terms of more income and merchandise sales. Great job!!!
hey Luke. I wrote out what you said about your crab boat stand. And truly think it should go on or around the crab stand for costumers to read framed as an Easter egg when they are waiting to order. Luke McFadden: "As a business person, I understand that there are better options than turning an old Delta build crab boat into a crab stand. For kids to be able to come to the crab stand and experience a real crab boat and actually see a boat that worked on the water is so important. To get the next generation familiarized with the industry and show them - put a face and an actual thing. If we want this industry to thrive and have a rebirth and really last, I think it's crucial that we get the younger generation involved in the water. I think it's really important for kids to understand where their food comes from and that we are the ones that are most invested in keeping the natural resource around and being good stewards of it."
Almost 50 years old and have been lucky enough to spent most of my life in the marshes and sounds of Eastern NC. Breaks my heart to see all of the traditions I learned as a kid disappearing. I don't think your average hunter these days can relate to setting out 150 solid wood canvasback decoys or hunting a lay down box. Forget about launching a wooden dory off the beach into the surf setting gill net. For the most part it's a lost art. It's hard to see my beloved Outer Banks becoming something else. Fact of the matter it is no longer mine, it has been owned by outsiders for a couple of generations now and they cater to the tourist and the Almighty dollar. Hell, maybe every generation before me said the same thing. But when I see your videos and your passion for your work and keeping the traditions alive it gives me hope. You are making a difference and putting your money where your mouth is and it comes across in every video. Your doing good work and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Good luck to you and I know you do already, but savor every second on the water.
Luke.. I think your idea for this old girl is spot on. Whether you are making videos or just a better way to connect with your customers. Though, been raised around wooden boats, I cringe a bit over cutting her up. That said, I know you will do her proud. I'm looking forward to seeing your vision completed.
I appriciate you as a young man, who does whatever is needed at the time. I'm a retired 100 ton skipper. I would have given anything for two crewmembers who are as committed as you.😊
There’s no feeling like riding in a sinking boat on a long rope in a soupy fog wondering if you’re going to get run down by a idiot on auto pilot but you didn’t and your treasure is in home port. Great episode Luke now see if you can find something to keep you busy.
I love your videos. Makes me miss when I owned my own business. All the daily disasters that were frustrating in the moment are some of my favorite times to look back and laugh at lol
I gotta update you on the language of the bay. Slick calm. Is said (Slick Cam). I ain’t NO CRABBER .. haha but I know Jay so that’s close enough. Haha I live in Smith Island. So I hear these crabbers and their language.. trout line = Trot line. I think. I love your show 🎉 you and CJ are so fun to watch. Keep up the good work making those ideas come to reality 🎉 I need to work on my own ideas instead of just dreaming up ideas. 😅😂😂😂😂
Get that prop balanced and pitched, and new cutlass bearings , I just had it done I hit something on the ICW.Dominey propeller in Brunswick Georgia is the best shop around
In the Netherlands here, we doin liters and euro's. But after a little calculation i have to pay $91,12 for 12.87 gallons . that makes 6.76 a gallon. Mighty fine work you are doin. love to see all of it :)
I went to school with Jason Ruth! He was a couple years older than me if I remember correctly. And I worked Security at Mears Point Marina / Red Eye Dock Bar back in the day! Grew up in Cloverfields on Kent Island.
Luke you crack me up! I’ve made decisions like this 😂 I really expected that small rope to break. And also owning a business, try to give a different experience or do something different than others! Sometimes the gamble pays off or other times you just learn.
Love your Channel Luke. I’ll be watching for as long as your posting. I’m in South Jersey and thinking about taking a trip down to see your boat stand and get some crabs off you this summer.
When u have crap coming into the Davco filter let it sit then open the drain plug on the base of the filter before you fire it up and btw diesel is a living organism
Dude i think making the boat is a really cool idea. We all have childhood memories of things like an old boat that sells crabs on the side of the road and you are gonna continue that American tradition of roadside attractions.
When towing a boat, use two lines and tie both to a tire in the center.... makes a good shock absorber and keeps the cleats from Getting ripped off. Old Alaskan Salty dog trick. That's how we do it when getting towed over the bars on The Copper River Flats.
Bad decisions make for good stories. You couldn’t have picked a better day. Another successful mission! I think the “Crab Boat Experience” is a brilliant idea. So far everything seems to be working out well. I’m looking forward to the rest of the mission. Thanks again for some great entertainment.
OMG I was dying laughing when that radio was cutting out on you. Love your videos. Grew up with family in the crab potting business in North Carolina so your content hits me with this major wave of nostalgia.
The fact that you published this video says you didn't get run over by a freighter in the channel. Another foggy day peril on the Chesapeake. Been there done that.
Luke, Ferd (the marine across the river from you) has one of those trailers that is hydraulicly adjustable for any boat. May be an option for moving the boat over land to Glen Burnie.
fun segment Luke. glad you made it back ok. cant wait to see how you get it boat to your lot. the bay was nice to you, it can turn on you in a minute. nice to see the underside of the narrows bridge. been over it many times. thanks for sharing.
Great content man and looking forward to seeing this come to life! So much to be said for your perspective on being a doer instead of a talker. I’m not in the fishing business but rather the construction and real estate business. Houses for me are on par with boats for you. I see potential and opportunity where a lot of folks would walk. Cheers from Alaska!
Yet again, another cool video. The best advertisement you can have. Are from your haters. We all have them. Mate, from a bloke down under, keep them coming.
Ahh, brings back lots of memories for me. I was a chicken-necker back in the late 1980's-1992 or so - had a 30' sloop over in Mill Creek at Leo James place (next to Cantler's ), now LJ Marina. Leo James was a crabber and a super nice guy. I was your age when my friends and I would sail out, drop 6 or 8 lines out with the chicken (we used cheap drumsticks, but same thing) and pull up crabs all day and into the night. Good times for sure.
I'll be honest, it's impressive to see someone at your age recognizing how you can differentiate yourself and provide an experience to your customers (ie make more money!)
I wonder if truck bed liner could be used to coat the inside of hull? Pretty easy spray installation and price isn't too horrible. Some are available in colors
i towed a sinking 1965 41ft hatteras twin diesel with a single screw chrysler 3601969 uniflight i dont even know how many miles in the winter. took 5hrs at least at an idle because any faster i would spin out of control. made some memories.
Don’t you DARE ever give up!!! You’re a dying breed of young adults!!! We love you.

Gods speed and best of luck to you
From a farmer to a fisherman,I tip my hat to you

You are such an inspiration to any and all Luke. Your positivity is a thing to behold young man.
"It's a good day to do something stupid"😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Your one-liners are classic man 😂 😂
That’s gotta be a shirt soon!
I’m pretty sure thousands of years ago this was written in a biblical scroll
@@JM-jr1sb 🤣😂🤣😂
He does have thee best lines 😂
100% Luke on creating “The Experience” for your crab stand. We all live for the opportunity to have an experience- memories
Thats called “Selling the sizzle not the steak” 😂

By far, my favorite channel to watch. Very entertaining Luke.
You should make the motor box a cooler and keep crabs or cold snacks in there.
I freaking loved the comment about bringing down the property values!
Awesome job Luke.. Keep that Maryland Crabbing tradition alive.
hey Luke. I wrote out what you said about your crab boat stand. And truly think it should go on or around the crab stand for costumers to read framed as an Easter egg when they are waiting to order.

Thank you for doing that!
I cant get enough of your content, Keep it up my man!
Usually that beep means that the battery is dead on the radio. Time to charge or change batteries! Good job getting her home Luke!

Cocker you have no idea how much your helping so many people right now, good luck and good health to you and yours.😊
"watch my shaft" Best TH-cam line EVER!!!
Lol, "is it vibrating??"
🤣🤣
I wondered if many caught that line.
I appriciate you as a young man, who does whatever is needed at the time. I'm a retired 100 ton skipper. I would have given anything for two crewmembers who are as committed as you.😊
" We gotta long day of impending disaster"... this video was better than any horror/ scare movie.... had me on the edge of my seat!!!
You’re doing great things young man. God bless ya brother

Thanks for the pep talk man that’s exactly what I needed to make my move!!
That needs to be a Short.
Luke I love your attitude. I am a small business owner myself. I have to say you took the words out of my mouth workers not talker’s. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Keep 'em coming Luke, your projects are getting more ... hilarious !!
oh luke you are precious...... enjoy your adventures
your a smart dude!
Love that pep talk at 19:30
Off road diesel is a $1 a gallon and regular ole diesel is $3.78 in the Lone Star State 👍🤠
Excellent video Luke except now I want a bowl of Harris' crab soup. With extra sherry. Only problem is I'm 3,000 miles away.
In the Netherlands here, we doin liters and euro's. But after a little calculation i have to pay $91,12 for 12.87 gallons . that makes 6.76 a gallon.

Love your Channel Luke. I’ll be watching for as long as your posting. I’m in South Jersey and thinking about taking a trip down to see your boat stand and get some crabs off you this summer.
Always love you in depth explanation on your thought process with this purchase! Proud of you buddy keep on shining brother !!

Hell yeah! Excited to see this thing when it's all done up!
Brother you are on your way to a incredible life. Make that money brother
Currently in Palm Springs, born in Baltimore. I WILL get to Glen Burnie this summer to see the final product .
When towing a boat, use two lines and tie both to a tire in the center.... makes a good shock absorber and keeps the cleats from Getting ripped off. Old Alaskan Salty dog trick. That's how we do it when getting towed over the bars on The Copper River Flats.
Not true. Not the proper maritime method

Your amazing keep dreaming your classic for sure
When towing a old boat to help straitened it up off the back tow a small parachute setup. It will pull the back and keep it from swinging.
Luke, Ferd (the marine across the river from you) has one of those trailers that is hydraulicly adjustable for any boat. May be an option for moving the boat over land to Glen Burnie.

Oh yeah, you gonna hear it on that one Cap!!!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
God Bless you Luke ...love the channel ...❤
Hard work will get you where you want to be enjoy your videos keep them coming
Im sure you are going to do a great job with the boat .
Great content man and looking forward to seeing this come to life! So much to be said for your perspective on being a doer instead of a talker.

omg, the side shot of the old crab boat is now my wallpaper. Epic!
You have the best one liners. Have you always been like that? Love this guy🇺🇸😂
Genius bro that's the word for your idea
Luke you're a smart kid, keep going your a great inspiration to everyone.
I appreciate that!
you need to clip that part of the radio cutting out when you're trying to ask for a cheeseburger. That shit was hilarious!
Beautiful lines on that boat! Loved the pictures looking at the bow!
Another awesome video from Luke.
That's a really cool looking old boat. Should clean up good and be an awesome attraction for your stand! Love the innovation!
Great content!
you know your on the shore when you get a 5 min family tree introduction upon meeting new people!!!
Yet again, another cool video.
The best advertisement you can have. Are from your haters.
We all have them.
Mate, from a bloke down under, keep them coming.
Work on!!! Love your hard work and determination... Keep it up.
Great video!
I used to live in Pasadena on Forest Glen Dr. a TON of crabs were caught of the pier!
That boat is cool, I love to see those old workboats
I really like the lines of that boat, looks good on the water.
Very smart decision to make the crab purchase into a buying experience. Great idea and investment of your money and time.
It's been a minute since I laughed out loud watching TH-cam. Between the VHF and imagining you smelling those Cheesebugers up wind, I was chuckling!
I love all your projects...wish I lived closer!!!
Pretty deep words in that video. Nice job my friend. Keep it coming.

You got a good thing going brother! I haven't been on the water since i lost my leg. Hopefully i will get the opportunity again soon
Thanks for a reminder of some of the goofy adventures I've done up and down the bay good job
I'll be honest, it's impressive to see someone at your age recognizing how you can differentiate yourself and provide an experience to your customers (ie make more money!)
Good Job Capt . !
Can't wait to see the shop to go
All that to find out the burgers are gone. LOL!!!! Triple cheese at that.🤣
Your a good kid Luke. You will be successful in whatever you do. You have good work ethic.
Looking forward to seeing the new boat at the crab stand.
I love seeing our hometown guy with our hometown in the background 😀
Luke is a rare breed nowadays
