My grandfather used to refer to the homemade stuff as the 'recipe'. He and my father used to sneak out to the shed for a little nip. My grandmother would warn him that 'lips that touch liquor will never touch mine'. Homemade wasn't really legal so one had to keep it on the down low. Your work table is a masterpiece, btw. 🙂👍👍🇨🇦
wonderful content, filming n people/dog.....fascinating to hear you reliving times with your grandad n those early childhood memories n watching you doing this historic activity. Thank you, Joaquim....from New Zealand,
It is touching how you speak about the time of when you were young and how your grandparents did the same work that you are doing now by yourself at exactly the same place and in exactly the same way with exactly the same breathtaking view. And I find it very interesting to see how the wine is traditionally made. Thank you for sharing these wonderful videos.
Thank you Joaquim, as much as I do love my red wine Im not an expert I just know what I like when I taste it and this episode was extremely interesting to see the steps involved in non commercial wine making. I was watching you with the press at the end and wondering how old it was and how much use it has had in its lifetime, old equipment made from a non throw away time fascinates me and I just love seeing it either still being used or being brought back from long term storage (shall we say) to be used again. I also liked the sturdy bench built where your grandfather stood, standing on his footprints will be a very nice place to spend time as you work away. Thank you for sharing your memories and your ongoing life with us, best regards from Scotland
Hi😊today I thought while looking the video..there must be grandfathers and grandmothers ghost everywhere around you. They must be very proud of you. You doing all so well. Thank you for the videos! So we can be part of it. I love your way living. And the dog is the still the best. Hi helps you any time grounding😊next to your feet to remember that you on earth now. You create a beautiful place😊 Thank you so much✨️💙👍🕊🙏🏿Love and peace from Wetzlar, Martina😊
Loved watching the wine making process... your lovely woodworking table is a little fancier than one I had on a property I once owned that must have been a century old and was so wonderful with all its timeworn scars and still as solid as a rock. You certainly need a sturdy weighted table for good woodwork and even using a vice. You are so talented and I love your return to the traditions of your youth and what a luckly son you have to be part of the process. You are resurrecting something so beautiful with your family incorporating all the latest tech.

UAUU Joaquim, you are a Jack of all trades! Beautifully made tablet. What happened to ur "avô 's stone lagar"? You are absolutely right. The "Magusto" is our Holloween and a Celtic traditional feast, as Minho and the whole North of Portugal is the most Celtic region of the country. It is indeed the Celtic celebration of Samhain, which the Catholic Church could not do away with, so they joined in and turned the 11 of November into a Feast Day of S. Martinho. Keep up the great work e "Biba o berdinho"!!😂
Upon assembling the bench and looking out to the horizon I wondered if perhaps your grandfather had a similar location where he could enjoy the view. And then you said you built the bench exactly where his once stood. May you enjoy that view for many years and rejoice in memories of your grandfather when taking in the view. I liked this video. 👍👍👍
Keeping old traditions is so nice to see and follow. Homemade liquor is made everywere, beeing it legal or not. Here it is not. looking forward to the next episode.
It was very interesting watching you make wine. I really enjoyed this video. Many hands make light work. The garden is looking amazing and that View is stunning!
I really enjoy your videos mate, Very relaxing and inspiring to watch. Beautiful countryside there, I can see why you were drawn back to the place of your childhood. Great progress on all your projects, Cheers. Kind regards from Australia.
I’m wondering if you’re grandfathers stone grape press is still on the land & it’s been buried underneath years of overgrowth, it maybe even underneath that tree stump that’s in the or corner? It would be absolutely amazing if you found it again. Very many thanks as always for sharing your incredible story with us. From Aberdeenshire Scotland. 🤗
@@Joaquim_Conde Aww that’s a pity, Now that you have ownership, hopefully he will give it back to you so you so it can be reinstated to its original place, that would be great for all the family to see. 😀
There's quite a bit to wine making that I wasn't aware of. I looked up some of the terms you used to get a better understanding of the process. I was able to find a picture of a wine press with a granite stone base. It looks very nice and I can under stand you wanting one. I prefer a sweet wine rather than a dry wine but I nolonger drink alcoholic beverages. ❤ How is the tent coming along? I'm curious to see it up.
I just found you on youtube, loving your videos :) I have a granite stone wine press that I never use, it has amazing huge and beautiful stones. I've been wondering what to do with it as it's not in a very good place - let me know if you might be interested in it, I'd consider selling it. I also have huge old wine barrels that would need putting back together (we had to take them apart to get them out of the house!) which I would love to see put to use again.
É gostoso de se ver que você mantém a tradição, o processo é interessante. Muito embora hoje sabemos de todos os males do álcool com relação à saúde como um todo. Causando Alzheimer e destruindo as células.

Thank you. I watched him work at his bench many times, he would explain how the different tools worked and let me handle them sometimes.
It looks amazing and what a view. Love watching you build, I feel like I'm definitely learning some new skills.👍

The tent is waiting until the end of the harvest season. Should be back to work on it next week

Many things cause Alzheimer’s. We really need to relax and celebrate sometimes. A little is not a problem.
Well…he did listen…but umm no thanks I won’t help…need to rest 😊

What is your property elevation where you are? Just curious ! Watching from Panama City Florida,USA. 🇺🇸🦅 ! Elevation 8 feet.
We call it Fire water, I’ve drank a lot. I never had it with Grape juice, just straight. I think the one we drank was from Columbia.
👍
Just curious, did you give up on building the yurt/tent??? I thought you needed it to live in as you rebuild.
Not at all, it’s only in the back burner. The weather and some seasonal priorities got in the way.
Thanks for your question

Joaquim, e a tenda canadense? Já a montaste? Já estás a viver na herdade?
Ainda não, a colheita está quase feita, e em seguida volto a trabalhar nela
