Wonderful to have found you. A note re. the wires on the posts for fencing. I got some stainless steel turnbuckle wire tensioners which have a hook and loop. Means you can tension as the wire loosens. Have made my life easier!
Your interaction with your animals - such a delight to watch. How blessed they are to have such a kind hooman!
Muito bom! Parabéns!

How many times do we have to watch someonje drink coffee and eat.. Boring!!!!
aprende-se muito sobre a natureza consigo. obrigado
Obrigada Joaquim. O seu canal dá-me esperança. Queria muito criar a minha bebé numa comunidade mais pequena e com natureza. Queremos fugir à loucura da cidade. Mas estando o meu marido desempregado, torna-se difícil. Há menos trabalho no interior...
The view from the house is beautiful. Are the cobble stones for the duck pond? Alabaster: "Dad, whatcha doin with my manure pile?" Oh my stars, Salazar almost got called lunch.. Alabaster has been protecting that corn for months and along comes a corn eating cat 🤣🤣 As long as the Rabbits don't steal any corn they might be safe 🤣🤣 Have you had rabbits before? They can be a bit tricky to keep, My fathers best friend used to raise rabbits and my next door neighbour had them in a back yard hut, they can be very mean and known kill their own babies at times, the runt or if the mother is highly stressed the whole litter. They are also very sensitive to toxins (which I know you are careful of anyway, pesticides on vegetable peelings can kill a rabbit). I've had them as pets but I've never bred them. Male rabbits need to be kept away from pregnant females and nursing females to reduce the stress on the mother. When we went to visit the farm we were allowed in the Rabbit barn to help clean and separate rabbits into separate areas. The floor of the barn was all concrete and caging was on 2 sides allowing the walls/barn doors to be opened for light and air or closed in bad weather and at night for protection. There was also special lighting and heating - but that is in Canada where it gets very cold. You could introduce Alabaster to a rabbit the same way you did with the cat. Rabbits eat their own poo because its the way they make and absorb vitamin B. So keep them clean but not too clean. (Rabbits have to eat their own poo to stay healthy. Yes you read that right. The first time foods go through the digestive tract not all the nutrients are absorbed so rabbits need to eat the poo to send it through the gut for a second time. This allows the nutrients to be extracted and used in the body.)
why not just make the coop varmint proof altogether? Then no worries if a weasel can climb up the PVC or not. Less stress for the birds too...
Love the new chicken coup ,keeping them save is a big job ,I live in south Texas wild dogs and wild hogs are our big problem thanks for showing your farm
Hey J! Why don’t u purchase some scaffolding (perhaps used?) for the work on your homestead. It’s safer & would be more efficient. Also, would there be teenagers in your area that u could hire for the cleaning work on the walls? It would free I up for the more skilled work. I enjoy your videos & envy your lifestyle! I live in Canada. .. Rob
As always thank you for sharing. It was a joy to watch 👍
That was so enjoyable to watch! I love Alabaster though Im sure he thinks the cat is a rodent :) great composition, storytelling and restoration work. You are right, you are bringing it back to life. The chickens are very happy now, love the way you are with animals Wish I could get my hands on some of that flexible fencing , never have seen it in Canada.
👍
Look forward to next video
Love your videos very interesting 🧐🤔
Grease the PVC pole like we do here in the states. The squirrels are so funny to watch trying to climb the greased pole and sliding back down EVERY TIME! So even if the weasels get in there, they won’t be able to get up a meter, like you say. But I only know squirrels, not weasels!
If you put feed out for your chickens but leave the coop open, I think every single one of them will choose to walk around to scratch and forage rather than stand and eat the feed. They absolutely love freshly disturbed soil and I've seen chickens following a tractor around more than once lol.😂👍
Hahaha, the little side glance of a look when you asked Alabaster if he was destroying the wood pile, very entertaining. It's so good to see you starting on the cleanup of the walls of the house.
Winter is making its presence known I expect. Have really enjoyed the journey so far. I also have to say how impressed I am with your work bench, especially that vice/clamp. Well done. Cheers
die springen, so wie das gebaut ist, von ast zu ast und holen jedes huhn....
But first they have to come past alabaster the dog 🐶 good luck with that.
What breed of dog does Joaquin Conde have?
That is some old stone work….Joaquim…..worth saving in my book. I would let others do the work….however…age bro.
I must say that I have enjoyed your content. It’s wonderful seeing your wife around. I must also imply that the dog and the cat are really taking over the show! It’s so cute when you talk to them it brings a happy face to me. The place is looking great and can’t wait to see more. Thank you for taking all of us on this journey. God bless and Have a fabulous week.
🎄👍🌟🍀💐
Это самый странный насест для кур который я когда либо видел . Претензия не к материалам , претензия к дизайну . Для справки- насест в курятнике это иерархическая лестница положения курицы в стае.
Sus conocimientos históricos aparte de sobrar son bastantes inexactos
Sat with a bottle of red on a lazy Sunday. Watching is so relaxing, thank you .
I know Great Pyrenees are very protective of what they perceive to be their herds, so if you can just get Alabaster to think of the rabbits as his herd . . . . They are indeed wonderful dogs.
you can do everything right and STILL loose chickens. It just happens.
💯

I hope the perch works and I will be interested to see if the hens adapt ... I have had several birds from good local breeders - nice birds and good layers - but as with yours, the birds don't know how to roost. I never succeeded yet in training them to go on the roost by themselves. Only with my first hens 15 years ago did they do this.
Weasel control is how well you built the coop.
Mink.. and Weaslescan jump.😢 we put window screen inside out chicken wire.. that stopped the little stinkers.. they will kill rabbits too.. Alabaster was tamping down your load lol...😊
I know times are changing but everyone should, get up from the computer and taste life like this... And for those who can't there remains content such as this 😉 It is a pleasure to watch!
As an ex farm boy that is the worst chicken perch I have ever seen. You are sure not making it easy for your chickens.
Joaquim Bom dia como vão todos obrigado pela sua dedicação ❤
Set a rat between your animal friends one or 2 times, and they will become best companions because of the shared 'interest' ;)
Wunderschöne Aussicht 🪷🤩
👍
Precious place and you made it alive again 👍
Yes they are an amazing breed he will guard those chickens with his life. I’m so glad you have got him a job to do he will be so much happier there.❤
Hai Joaquim, Are you working according to a plan from the beginning, Or you sometimes do what you feel like doing that day Or is the videomaking of influence ? 💚
Thanks for your question. I have a vision plan, that I break down into: Yearly goals, Quarterly goals, Monthly goals, And weekly goals. As for the day to day, it pretty much goes as I feel like that particular day. Having said that, I feel like I never achieve the weekly or monthly goals. I seem to achieve the quarterly goals and am well ahead in my goals for this first year of the project. I try not to let filming get in the way of doing what I’m going to do. Perhaps it’s why I don’t film everything that I do.
beautiful views of countryside
I agree, Alabaster will be the best predator deterrent. Look how he obsesses with mice. And I agree re heritage breeds. I Keep Salmon Faverolles for that reason ( reasonable egg layers and good meat production. Mine are free range and it’s only on rainy days and in bad weather that they tuck into the supplementary layers pellets. Mine love whole corn and wheat, but they supplement their own food with garden worms, slugs and other pests by choice.
