Hi Joaquim I am new to your Chanel channel I really enjoyed it very much I am also Portuguese I moved to Canada when I was 12 leaved their for 48 years and I moved back to terceira Azores 2 years ago today keep up the amazing work
My husband worked at a commercial pig farm and the smell when he came home was horrible. He had to take his clothes off on the porch before comming into the house for a shower. Fortunately, he wore a uniform and the company took care of the cleaning.
One of the channels I follow is Cindy Vine Portugal, she raises Kune Kune Pigs, they are very good to raise they are clean (relatively) they graze they don't dig like the bores, and they don't stink. They don't poop where they sleep or eat they have their designated area for that.
I would love to see pictures of the house before it became a ruin. Also if you're willing, I would love to see pictures of your grandparents and hear their story!
Thankyou so very much in sharing what your doing and why .I am enjoying all the content and look forward to following your progress .love love love this life style .
Hello, can you please explain a little bit about the waterproofing? Most of the time when i see people on youtube restoring old stone houses the approach is "remove all concrete, use lime and even if water enters the walls, it will just evaporate". Now it looks to me like you did a pretty modern approach: Concrete, Bitumen and the black dimpled mat, correct? 1. You didn't insulate the outside, is condensation in winter not a problem in Portugal? 2. From what i understand old stonehouses have a problem with water rising from the ground up the wall, will you be adressing that? With frenchdrains on the outside when backfilling, or adding ventilation in the floor when pooring the new slab? Maybe even other modern approaches like injecting a waterproofing solution into the walls? Thanks for the video!
I semi-witnessed a slaughther of the pig only once. It was horrible!😮The shrieks of the poor animal stayed with me to this day, and mother had to get me away because I wouldn't stop crying. Unfortunately, this traumatic😢 event wasn't enough to put me off meat.
Grew up on a farm where we raised our own pigs and cows. It was once or twice a year where family and friends got together to harvest the meat for the family. Guess if you never saw it done it might be a shock but it was necessary for us.

Yes they are very special
The place is coming along nicely! So interesting to learn about pigs, too! Thanks for sharing with us!
The rebuilt wall looks fantastic. You have moved a lot of stone and earth in 15 days.
Enjoying this channel very much! Thanks for your work in producing it
Have you thought of Kuni Kuni pigs? They’re supposed to be very even tempered and they do not dig.

Me too, and I'll never forget because it was awful.
Just wondering if you plant the the Oak trees in this position, wil it obscure your views of the mountains ⛰
They are off to one side, they’ll only hide the neighbour’s place from view
