Nice comparison. Want power and lightweight go 400. Want heaviest with best antivibe/no leak caps get 572. Got some extra cash and want the most power get 462. No wrong choice and all three are great options. I am leaning towards 572 for antivibe/no leak caps/save $. IMHO Stihl needs to admit defeat with redesigned caps / retrofit and stop being stubborn. Husky needs to design all MKI's without needing a MK2 (572 best attempt so far). I like both brands and will buy without being brand loyal.

Can you put husky caps on the Stihl 462. I prefer Husky all the way but I will admit that Stihl does put out slightly better power to weight. I have a couple farm saws and just recently bought their 585 with a carburetor. I am in love with it.

@@sub_second_life3174 - Stihl is a quick turn and Husky is threaded. Not the same design. Both companies have great choices with +/- on each model. I ended up with a 550 XP MK2 and it is a ripper. No issues so far and imho the best 50c option with 261 also a good choice. Money is tight or would own a 70/80c, but for now my 550 does everything I need. No regrets so far.

@@ftlaud911 thanks for the reply. I swear I saw a video where someone upgraded the leaky stihl caps. I own a couple 450 ranchers and a 585. Absolute monster in the wood with a hand filed chain. Almost pulls the saw put of your hand.

None of my Stihls have leaky caps. Sounds like internet misinformation. 661,462,400,261,260pro, 201 none have leaky flip caps. None of the Stihls at work have leaky caps. 500,460,261’s,201’s

Sorry guys there is no way I believe the 400 beats the 572XP. It barely beats the old 562XP with a 7cc advantage and probably is dead even with the 562XP MKII. Just saying. 462 all day beats it but no way the 400 does. Maybe your 572XP is still breaking in because your throttle response comment also doesn’t jive.

Currently use a 272XP but want to try a ms462c. The 572XP I feel is too heavy for the power. I had a 400C new and didn’t like it and sold it almost immediately. 272xp was way stronger with a 24 bar. Maybe my 400C had something wrong with it.

I really like Huskies, but it's just a fact that Stihl wins the 70cc category. 400c is light and great power, and the 462 is heavier, but a torque monster. It outclasses the 572 in every way.
Top handle, 50, 60, 90 and 120cc the Huskies are better. But 70 belongs to Stihl. A good category to win, because that's the best all around saw size.

400 is a great saw, purchased one when they first came out, but the 462 is much stronger saw and has zero issues 25" or 28" bar
Bark Box would not be an option for me again, too much heat forced down on the chassis and clutch cover
My favorite saw running a bar of 25" to 32" is the 500I, now with that being said I would not cut all day long with a 32" bar on the 500I, if I did have an occasion that I needed to pull out a 32" or larger bar all day long then the 661 comes out of the case.

Red beard saws and others male aftermarket. Filters -mufflers .I'm for it and what's the lightest..462cm with suspension. Kit dogs and uni filters. Box.xctra the stock saws all need help ..I switched to stihl after decades of husky .because of power to weight in professional use.however my echo 2511t is most used saw daily and 462cm. 80 percent of daily tree work is done with those 2 .do to the weight.lets be honest warranty on stihl is 3 months garbage. And my echo is 5 years never seen the shop.yet...if your not a professional echo saws are you need.guys just buy stihl and echo to be cool.in tree care world it's for weight and speed. Plus dealer support .is 5 minutes away .everything today is built crappy compared to old tools.however if a person s goal is speed then ported is only way to go..out of the box and with. Bolt on mods stihl 400 462 and 500i. Are just best for professional use.if it said husky on it .would still pick them.that said the 400 and 462 ported are far superior..the 500i is for BIG WOOD LIKE 5ft around wood other wise it just 4 strokes.its maid for big loggs.you can run a 8pin on the 500i ..but the 462 has always been best ..people just follow fads on the 500i ..and or are obsessed with husqvarna. I grew up with 6ft6 Swedish tree men they were obsessed with husqvarna..I'm going for weight and what works daily I'm older and body is broken .at 160 pounds I can't just lift 400 pounds like when I was younger.every pound counts .people think they need bug saws but I do most tree work with 2511t..can cut most trees with that. The big spar only takes few cuts with 462 .

All the husky 550, 562, 572, really wake up with a muffler modification. Stock muffler is horribly constricted design. Holds too much heat. Snap up to rpm is instantaneous with a muffler mod. I do not like waiting for the saw to ramp up to full rpm. However i will be purchasing Stihl 400 in the near future, i believe it is the best power to weight ratio for i do.
