Great video! If revel doesn’t work for you I’d highly suggest trying out Bandai’s Star Wars kits! I’ve built three of them myself and I haven’t had any complaints. They also include a detailed display stand.
I was surprised how well the hull looked after the wash considering you hadn't painted it. I'm just getting back into modelling and have my hands full with the few kits I bought to practice with. I'd love to try my hand at building a Y-Wing at some point however. The overworked, undervalued workhorse of the Alliance fleet :).

I see the force is strong with this one! You did a really great job on this and I like the dark grey wash on the panel lines. The X Wing fighters always had a grungy and worn look to them and I think you accomplished this very well with this kit. Thanks for sharing this.
I loved seeing the P11c and hope as your channel progresses, you start to expand into odder things like maybe a gloster whittle and Javelin and maybe American aircraft. Keep up the good work!
Its a nice little kit and i agree it really needs a stand. I got round that by using an Airfix dual stand and mounting it with Vader's Tie fighter chasing it, also changed it to Red 3 (Biggs) so didn't have any decal problems as I painted all the markings and droid (a lot of good reference pictures online for Red 3 as that screen model is one of the survivors)
I'm so happy that the parts are already white, because, if you dont have money for an airbrush, the basecoating with white is a nightmare. Anyway, great work Owen Wan Kenobi, and may the force be with you !
I'm building one of my own right now - what should I do about the weathering solution if I want to make it lighter? Just use less of the darker chalk or maybe replace dark&brown with gray?

Quick Kits yeah. I would also recommend getting an airbrush to paint to with if you ever did get it. That way you could do paint modulation and other effects.

Fantastic build owen!! (Kendalls is better😉😉) a bit fan of star wars but theres one thing I noticed..... Did you use charcoal for the black and grey chalk wash??.... Just asking and.... I couldn't find a Stuka😢😢 Anyway, looking forward to the bisnarck!!! I really wanna see how you rig ships..

(This is a funny story) so i made my minicraft 1:144 B-24H/J Liberator (video on my channel) but there was a propeller missing, so i contacted the store that i bought it from and they Said they where going to send a extra propeller. And today, i recieved a box in my mail, and it turned out that they sended a entire new kit for free! So i will make a new Liberator and i would like to know wich one people would want me to make? (Pinup and name of the plane)
think it looked better with the heavy wash...people are to gentle with their washes when doing an x-wing....i really liked the effect better......good job bud....
If you want an X-Wing worthy of the name Star Wars then look no further than Bandai's Star Wars line. If you are familiar with Gunpla then building the X Wing will leave you speechless. Not trying to hype it up any further, but the difference between Revell, and Bandai is Night and Day. Although I will say what Revell did to try and limit Bandais Star Wars line in the U.S.A was stupid and shady at best, but that story is for another time.

I would recommend Walthers Solvaset for decal situations such as the one with R2-D2.

Nice job! This kit is the same as the Revell pocket set except that comes with stickers instead.
Without painting, just cutting and assembling, how long would it take to finish the build?

I would! I'd recommend the TIE Advanced over this X-wing though - the decals are a bit tricky on this. Check out Kendall's build of the TIE.

Just the kind of chalk pastels you could buy at a craft shop, or online. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Photoshop to create it and After Effects to edit it in with a chroma key
