As you were checking out close finishes in Nascar, and Darryl mentioned Marcos Ambrose in his interview, I suggest you check out "Marcos Ambrose, Brad Keselowski Battle at Watkins Glen". It was 2012 I believe and for context the 47 car (Almendinger) was losing oil on the track the last 2 laps but everyone was unaware till the last lap. Marcos was an aussie V8 supercar driver who moved to the states to race Nascar for about 6 years before returning home. Love your passion JB, keep up the good work
My parents live on the northern valley opposite the track and I learned to drive on it. Doing a lap in 2 minutes is flying, and I’ve done this at speed but 2 minutes is really rippin and I can see why DW was shook
I live in Bathurst and have walked the track many times (it's a public road when there's no racing), the apex of the dipper is as steep as a set of stairs. You can't drive a full size tour coach down there (the overhangs get caught up on the road).
I think you’re right Johnny. Being a passenger and having no control over the vehicle at that speed on any race track must amplify the anxiety astronomically.
That's exactly right. I'm a motorcycle rider and love it, put me on the back though, where I have no control, and I'm a screaming back seat driver of the worst kind.
It's not just being a passenger (if you know the track you know what to expect is coming up next probably) Notice that Waltrip is holding the door net and the roll bar above lol. So he is holding 2 places of the car. The Dipper is crazy if you are standing on it. Actually difficult to walk up it, and you can if you visit Mt Panorama one day.
Yep, being a passenger will up the ante, but I'd love to see any top tier professional race driver in the co-pilot seat of jet sprint boat. 0-60mph 1.6 seconds and a tight track full of 90 degree turns and hairpins.
Johnny maybe cover "Peter Brock describes a lap of Bathurst 1986". Usually when I post a video link my post disappears so I followed up with the title for you to search.
Growing up around race car drivers i can verify that some are fearless, but most are the worst passengers ever. You are so right.......fearless when driving, 10 yo girls when a passenger. Only time my uncle was ever scared in a car was the night Alan Jones ( former Aussi F1 champion ) drove him home. Doing 100 mph through the city of Melbourne ( the city hub ) and ignoring the red lights. lol
Yeah, I's bet money that a good chunk of Darrell's fear there is being the passenger. When I tried navigating in ralley stages, it took me a LOT of mental training and familiarity with my driver before I stopped white-knuckling
Hi Johnny love your reactions Maybe you could check out NRL especially state of origin , the NRL kicked off their Season in Vegas this year and are doing it again next year .
That echo is infact in the video as this is recorded live as you can see in the top right and the sound and camera crew hadnt fixed up the fact that Darrel had a hand mic with Marks headset mic so one or the other was picking them both up and had to be adjusted for each camera on the set which i believe was 3 cameras some times segments are last minute put togethor to fill time before the race.
In the Bathurst video when Mark says "there is nothing else like in the world" he meant it. Bathurst was designed to be the toughest circuit. What you said is true about being a passenger is way more scary. I have to admit my first thought was "that poor bastard, he's gonna crap his pants", but it was way better than that. I PMSL the entire lap. NOTE: The echo in the audio happens more often than anyone cares to admit.
Yeah dude, the V8 supercars have the best sound. I've grown up watching F1 since I was a little kid and I still love it, but the V8s have such epic close racing. The F1s are just too fragile and too aero heavy to be able to have the same door to door racing.
Great reaction Jonno. Yeah you're right mate. He is going flat-out as a driver in the Drivers seat in his head, (left hand side) but with NO steering wheel, NO pedals... and NO control. THAT must have produced some REAL damn fear. hahaha (We all love DW over here.) Jonno here is the SECOND most funny supercar video. 'FATTY RIDES IN A SUPERCAR' th-cam.com/video/JwBsMA4H5u4/w-d-xo.html Can you have a look at this and let us knowyour reaction? Its priceless!!! 🙂 Brisbane. (New subscriber)
Hey there JB, glad you enjoyed that. I think you had an edited version of the lap as I reckon I’ve seen the whole lap play out corner by corner and it had me in stitches! The editing sequence wasn’t quite right. Go Blues!
Hey Dave!! When I get requests, sometimes theres so many to choose from that I ultimately just pick one and roll with it. Since Im new to this sport, I wldnt know the difference between a good or a bad video. Thats where u guys come in🤣🤣🤣 Thanks as always Dave!👍😎
Mr Marine!!!!!!! We've been waitin to hear from u!! Ive been on here and there but shld be on LIVE for the Rangers must win game Sat night!!! Everyone will love to see u in the chat!! Hope you are doing well my friend! Again, so awesome to hear from you Mr. Marine!!
I hope you carried on and watched the V8 utes they are our versions of the el Camino and ranchero utility vehicles which chev and Ford copied for your market
gday johnny rock and the playoffs band. coming up 3am here in adelaide. going to bed but had to say good luck to your yankees starting now and the knicks game 7 kicking off in two hours
174 m (571 ft) vertical difference between its highest and lowest points
Grades as steep as 1 : 6.13
161 laps of pure enjoyment.
When his voice goes up three Octaves, you know it's FUN!

The relief in his voice when they turn into pit lane is so good. It's a window into his actual state of mind.

Waltrip will always be one of the best drivers in NASCAR, tied for 4th place in all time wins with 84.
How steep is the downhill? First time I drove down there, i thought it was 3 times as steep as it looked on TV....
the first time I went down it was as a passenger in a 1965 Chevrolet Impala. A year later i went around it in my Alfasud. Different experiences!
It’s fecking steep in a road car at 40kmh, imagine in a race car 😮😮
@@TheTorkerman they used race motor cycles there too. I am not sure whether I would prefer a race car over a bike but i think i might.
It is a heap steeper than it looks on T.V its actually not easy to walk down
glad you liked my upload!..nice reaction
Yeah it was a great video man! Thanks for watchin my reaction to it! 👍😎

The footy you mention in Australia is the AFL the Australian Football League. AFL.
The track is a public road, I took my two kids around the track in a Toyota HiAce van, with no front on the vehicle even at 60 kph it is scary !
Simply mutual respect 🇦🇺 🤝🏼 🇺🇸
Hey bruz my advice if u want a true feel of how step it is u can actually do a lap on Google maps im pretty sure it will blow your mind
The last few laps of 2014 Bathurst race is worth watching the whole race was epic the finish was something else
