Excellent work. You and your Dad are cabinet makers masquerading as frame carpenters. I like the idea of fitting plywood between the metal siding and the storage area. Again, first class planning and work. Thank you.
Wow, now that is a loft! And the railing around it looks fantastic! I noticed the Swamp Angel, Iron Mistress and another CAT have found their way to the Red Shed...
Lots of scrap plywood or rubber mat and patience, lots of positioning materials to save floor! I think I spotted some materials used against wall behind dozer. I bet there will be some tricks to learn....
It been 2 years. I hope he restores it back to near new condition in the original color. Patina is overrated. I wonder if he could move it into his new shed so he could work inside this winter. It seems like it could be disassembled fairly easily and moved and restored in pieces. It would be great video series.
Very functional and aesthetically pleasing all at once! Nice work! Please take us along as you load, unload and position equipment in the barn. I'm sure you run the track vehicles on something to protect the floor
Insulating the outside walls in the area of the build before hand would be considerably easier but you guys did a awesome job and getting to work with dad will be a very special memory.
One of the last projects my father and I worked on together was a set of stairs for my workshop. He was diagnosed with cancer shortly after and passed 14 months later. I miss those type of things we did ....
Man that was fun ! Sure makes me wish I had such fun with my late Dad. He was a fine Framer/Finish Carpenter/Custom Home Builder and he would have Loved such a quality project. I know I have enjoyed every minute of your shared work. Well Done to Both of you !
Congratulations on finishing the shop it looks great! When we put the loft in ours, it added a lot of strength to the building. I'm shocked you guys haven't got frost yet either. 👍
Thanks! We’ve had a few superficial morning frosts that burn off by mid morning, but daytime temps have still been getting up in the 60’s and 70’s so the dirt is still loose lol 😂👍
Squatch253, once you get all of your equipment moved to the barn, please do another video describing each machine and your future plans for each. Thank you.
Squatch, you and Senior did a fantastic job on the loft. What a great design. You and Senior are always welcome to come build for me. I really enjoyed this series of videos. Thanks
I just stumbled across your channel because my son has a super M to restore for an ffa project. I am in the process of designing a shop for us to work in. Your quality of work regarding the interior of your loft build is amazing. You take pride, and time to show us how to do it correctly. Very hard to find these days. I'm impressed sir! Thank you for your effort. It will help many of us
Amazing job as always. You and Sr. work so well together. Clearly there is a lot of love and mutual respect there. I just shudder to think what the tracks on these dozers are gonna do to your beautiful brand new concrete floor.
They don’t touch any concrete - stay tuned I’ve just finished recording the next episode where I start filling the building with machines and show my process 👍
Congrats to you and Senior for finishing up that beautiful red building ... now I'm looking forward to you filling it up with CATS and some RED POWER. 👍👍
This will most definitely, be my go to video, while building my own loft. Your father is a joy to watch😊 he is definitely good at what he does, that man was teaching a class, and he doesn’t even know it. He dropped so much knowledge in these videos. Now I’m super excited! to get started on my own projects, you guys keep up the Great Work!! You and your dad did an AWESOME!! Job.
Good morning Toby and the red shed just gets better. You and senior have done an amazing job, and I think it was better running over by three weeks than rushing it 👍
Those old D2s and D4s have to be thinking they’re in heaven. First you rescued them from potentially going to the scrap heap and give them a new lease on life, and now they have a beautiful new home!
Another great job well done by Squatch and Senior always enjoy watching you guys work. Workmanship and quality are top notch. The loft does indeed look bulletproof. Being a former frame carpenter many years ago, if I may, I would suggest some solid bridging down the center line of the floor joist span. Tractor parts can get a little heavy and the bridging will help to carry the load between the floor joists especially if you using a pallet jack or cart of some kind to move things around up there.
Thanks for showing us your work methods. I suppose some will say it's all simple stuff but I'll bet it's not. Skill makes it all look simple. Beautiful work.
It’s nice to see a farther son team work together on building farming and restoring old farm machinery like the R D Two cat are you putting rubber Matt’s down on the floor so the cleats don’t scratch it up just wondering nice to you back home you’re eyes healing okay keep up the great work you all do enjoy your channel
You should be very happy. The fruits of your labor are nothing short of spectacular! It’s nice to see quality construction in our modern day throw away society. I’m envious, and that is a very rare thing! You and Senior make a good team.
Top to bottom the Red Shed looks awesome! Their is something about working with new lumber that I always liked, I think it’s the smell and feel of milled lumber!
We did our stairs with a landing exactly the same when we put a upstairs in our barn. Our barn is full of hit miss engines and larger ones on the ground floor.
If you get a chance, look for a video of the main production factory for Pilatus aircraft in Switzerland. Their new building is entirely wood and your loft reminded me of it. That’s intended as a huge compliment. Kudos to Senior too…. You’d have weeks left if it weren’t for him.
Looks fantastic!!! I personally would add 2-3 vertical supports on the right side of the staircase going from the stringer to the railing. Maybe even down to the floor if you plan on keeping under the stairs dead space. Maybe finish off the wall on the left hand side of the stairs just for aesthetic purposes? But otherwise you two did a great job! Very professionally done.
Another outstanding job. Everything you and Sir do is top notch and professional. Attention to detail is y’all’s middle name. Absolutely love your channel. No BS just good content.
Squatch & Son Construction and Repair. We add quality and durability to everything we do. When you want it built right the first time or when you want your tractor repaired better than new, call Squatch & Son Construction and Repair. Let's face it. We're just that good.
That turned out amazing, I see a one day project of adding electric and spray foam insulation or another working shop on the property, after the house is built. The possibilities are endless with a Red Shed Production...lol...great job
I would like to see you doing a video of you and your dad moving all of your Cat D2 and other parts to other machines. I have been getting into collecting parts and pieces for my Simplicity 725 and with that being said I am curious on how you organize your parts so they don't get lost.
Thank you , swamp angel looks so proud and out of the winter weather. She is such a beautiful girl and has come a long way. If you would have left her she would have turned into a Toyota Hood. From one of your proud members
Lord it's good to see you guys,Major Flood Damage in my neck of the woods, just got internet this afternoon Building looking good.Smart Man predrilling.
Thanks for the update and both Senior and I pass along our best wishes for you guys to get things back to normal - we’ve been seeing unimaginable damage from down there on the TV. Glad you guys are all OK 👍
First off, Nice barn. One thing the guy that built my 40x64 pole barn did that I thought was a nice feature was he nailed scrap 2x stock in behind the poles to stop the rodents from using the horizonal boards as racetracks, if you had drops say from your spindles it might be something to think about.
Try enjoy your time with your Father. He's such a treat to watch. I miss mine everyday !!
Great comment I do miss those days working with my Father, Lots of Love
Amen 👍
It's something sadly I never had, but my mum and grandmother were very special
Specific to the loft: 1) it looks bulletproof. 2) It is definitely a piece of Engineering Art! Thanks for taking us along.
He might even be able to store machines on it 😂
Quality isn’t expensive it’s priceless, what a fantastic Red Shed, nice job. Filler up
Excellent work. You and your Dad are cabinet makers masquerading as frame carpenters. I like the idea of fitting plywood between the metal siding and the storage area. Again, first class planning and work. Thank you.
Great project. Not a guy watching that doesn't wish he had that storage building. Nice job.
The Red Shed with the new loft looks great, you’re a lucky man who spends quality time working with your father. Can’t wait to see it full of toys.
Wow, now that is a loft! And the railing around it looks fantastic! I noticed the Swamp Angel, Iron Mistress and another CAT have found their way to the Red Shed...
Thanks and yes - the Big Move is now officially under way 👍😎
Winter is coming, the great migration has begun.
Would like to see a video of what it takes to move a tracked machine into its parking spot in the storage barn.
Lots of scrap plywood or rubber mat and patience, lots of positioning materials to save floor! I think I spotted some materials used against wall behind dozer. I bet there will be some tricks to learn....
Why
What a treat to be able to work with your pop…
Loft in the new barn looks great! As a Carpenter of 36 years I would have done a couple things differently but you guys did a great job.
Do not forget the stone crusher, Toby! That thing has got a ton of work waiting for it, after you restored it of course.
The storage loft looks really good! Now you need an antique caterpillar powered generator to run some lights!
Insulating the outside walls in the area of the build before hand would be considerably easier but you guys did a awesome job and getting to work with dad will be a very special memory.
Thanks, but this building is not going to be insulated or heated, it’s just for cold storage only so what you see here is all that’s going to happen 👍
@squatch253 Dang it ,Well great build anyway.
One of the last projects my father and I worked on together was a set of stairs for my workshop. He was diagnosed with cancer shortly after and passed 14 months later. I miss those type of things we did ....
Th fit and finish on that mezzanine is fantastic. Your railing is a work of art. I very much enjoyed witching you do this. :)
First class job - beautiful result - really well done. Great working with the dad, who was setting a hot pace; that will be such a good memory.
Timing is everything and you did it well with senior working in the background.
The greatest reward for your work is the satisfaction of seeing a job well done. You and Senior must be feeling well satisfied now.
Great job guys. Since your putting all your big boy toys in there, you could call it "Toby's Toy Box". LOL 😆 😂
Man that was fun ! Sure makes me wish I had such fun with my late Dad. He was a fine Framer/Finish Carpenter/Custom Home Builder and he would have Loved such a quality project. I know I have enjoyed every minute of your shared work. Well Done to Both of you !
You and your Dad should be proud of the work you have done!
Ha, we can smell the fresh cut lumber. Nice job guys, a person could live there.
Given your attention to detail on this loft, I was surprised that you didn't put in riser boards on the faces of the steps. :o)

Squatch, you and Senior did a fantastic job on the loft. What a great design. You and Senior are always welcome to come build for me. I really enjoyed this series of videos. Thanks
Best loft video in a poll barn I have seen. Lots of great ideas but my favorite is the design of the swing gates for pallet for access
You two do absolutely the highest quality work on every project!
A lot easier to understand than fast talking R & R Builders.
Heck of a job! You could probably put a whole tractor up there, and still have capacity for more!
I just stumbled across your channel because my son has a super M to restore for an ffa project. I am in the process of designing a shop for us to work in. Thanks and welcome aboard! 👍
What … no molding!😂. Looks great.
You should look for a little vintage forklift for lifting stuff to the upper floor.
I enjoyed watching this very much! I miss my father and grandfather every day. Glad to see someone work with their father too.
You and your Dad do so much good work together it makes me want to go and build something. Keep up the good work.

Good morning Toby and the red shed just gets better. You and senior have done an amazing job, and I think it was better running over by three weeks than rushing it 👍
You and senior went above and beyond but I kind of expected that's how you boys roll, no half steppin here it looks great.
Those old D2s and D4s have to be thinking they’re in heaven. First you rescued them from potentially going to the scrap heap and give them a new lease on life, and now they have a beautiful new home!
Nicest job on a mezzanine I've ever seen. You too make some team!
You and pop certainly didn't cut any corners. That turned out fantastic! Should last 100 years, for sure.
Congratulations on a job well done. May it be a safe haven for the historical stuff you so proudly present and preserv.👌
That looks good and I’m sure it’s gonna last forever the way you guys do things it’s just incredible love watching you

That thing looks like you could park a machine on it
Thanks for showing us your work methods. I suppose some will say it's all simple stuff but I'll bet it's not. Skill makes it all look simple. Beautiful work.
Beautiful ! I would use that as my living quarters !!!
Functional, Beautiful and a work of art!! Very well done!!

Superb piece of carpentry, very satisfying to watch it take shape, Good job, Guys!
Nice nice nice! Ray
7”11”steps,looks good
You two do fantastic work.
Have a Jesus filled day everyone
Greg in Michigan
You created a very beautiful location and inviting space. It going to make a great tractor museum!
Top to bottom the Red Shed looks awesome! Their is something about working with new lumber that I always liked, I think it’s the smell and feel of milled lumber!
Glad to see your finished up, it looks nice! It will take some to fill it and organize it
Wow, that is a very solid build indeed. Considering the Caterpillar parts it needs to be. Great job
Beautiful wood work. Huge shop. Love watching men work lol ;) say hi to Dad!
Very nice red shed I’m very jealous I once had a nice shop all insulated with a mezzanine until I sold my farm I sure do miss it
Looking nice!
You should do name signs for all the bays with the tractors. That would be a nice touch.
You guys did a great job on making the loft for storage. When you finished the video, I couldn't believe it had been over 24 minutes since it started.
We did our stairs with a landing exactly the same when we put a upstairs in our barn.
Our barn is full of hit miss engines and larger ones on the ground floor.
Compliments for a fine looking quality building.
Very impressive work, looks great. I am jealous that you and Senior have good knees to go up and down the ladder that many times too.
Really impressive workmanship... Great video.. Thanks for sharing...
Looks good guys nice job
Absolute Beautiful workmanship!! That sure was well planned out!! Bravo!!!
If you get a chance, look for a video of the main production factory for Pilatus aircraft in Switzerland. Their new building is entirely wood and your loft reminded me of it. That’s intended as a huge compliment.
Kudos to Senior too…. You’d have weeks left if it weren’t for him.
Killer job on your mezzanine!! Good to see you guys not take any short cuts on your projects and go the extra mile to do them right. VERY nice job.
Once it is built it must be filled. Looking forward to seeing all the machines under one roof.
You have a very well thought out building and the two of you do excellent work.
The Squatch museum looks great 👍🏻🤩😀🤓
Looks fantastic!!! I personally would add 2-3 vertical supports on the right side of the staircase going from the stringer to the railing. What a great looking job you did!! You can be proud!! Stay safe up there in the north!!
Took extra tome to build it but when you have grandchildren playing up
in grandpa’s loft it will be still holding up well 👍🏻🤩🥰
Another outstanding job. Everything you and Sir do is top notch and professional. Attention to detail is y’all’s middle name. Absolutely love your channel. No BS just good content.
Great build. I wait in anticipation for every video you post ! Keep up the great content . Cheers Carl
It would be pretty cool to see all the D2's in a line in there.
You guys do some fine work.. thx for sharing...

Nice build on that mezzanine! Beautiful shop!
Great job! Fun to watch - start to finish!
Toby everything you do is Top Shelf. I really love the way you did the rail. Thanks as always for bringing us along.
That turned out amazing, I see a one day project of adding electric and spray foam insulation or another working shop on the property, after the house is built. The possibilities are endless with a Red Shed Production...lol...great job

Stay tuned, I just finished recording that video earlier today 👍
A holdback on the swinging doors to keep them open, the wind is your worst enemy when it comes to a gate swinging shut at the wrong time.
nice work!!
Very nice, it looks great! Love seeing the cats in their new home!
That is one fine looking piece of work Toby, you guys should be proud of it. I've seen houses built with a lot less and not looking nearly as good
Thank you , swamp angel looks so proud and out of the winter weather. She is such a beautiful girl and has come a long way. If you would have left her she would have turned into a Toyota Hood. From one of your proud members

loved it lol HENRY BECKLER AZ
