Thoughtful, and exactly the perspective I was looking for. Most other reviews don't compare PP/SP. I did a short test drive of the DM-SP on typical UK roads (where we like to complain about potholes) and loved it.

Very good channel, exactly what I’m looking for atm. It’s still hard to find good content about PS2.
I’m doing my third test drive next Tuesday, gonna be the dual motor with PP this time. I will probably make my decision this day.
    Thank you for content

Thank you for this. This is super helpful as I am in the North of Scotland and unable to test drive a car before ordering. The roads here can be quite poor, I guess not dissimilar to Norway. What did you end up buying in the end yourself?

If I had seen your video earlier, I would go for the pp pack. Now only regrets.

It should be called the handling pack. I have the standard, because I am just not going to be exceeding the handling capability of standard. For those that expect to exceed the handling of standard, by all means, get the performance pack.
For heavens sake though, don't pay $5000 for gold seatbelts :-)

They look so cool though :D

@@kenjikenjikenj polestar should just make the gold seatbelts a $1500 option, I bet they'd sell a ton of them (basically a free $1500 premium to polestar).

@@homomorphic I don't agree with that. All Polestar tuned Volvos have those gold seatbelts. That's something that comes with the performance upgrades, not just a cosmetic thing. Gold seatbelts indicate better handling and sports tuning.

This was a very informative video indeed! Thank you. I just took my first test-drive this week, AWD non-pp, really liked it. I currently own a Model S 75D, and the feel of the road felt quite similar between the two. The Polestar center here in Oslo never has the PP available for test, a bit anoying. Not sure If I’ll get a chance to try it. But my main concern is if the ride is comfortable for my passangers (2 children,1 adult). The standard pack felt quite good, but would the PP make it more or less so?

I have a young child and he loves the ride. It took me some test drives with each to realise this, but in my opinion the suspension is more refined on the PP when it comes to road “textures”, but a bit more blunt if you hit potholes. You can adjust it, as I discuss, and putting it in the softest setting in the Winter makes it perfect for me. The handling is superior, for sure. But it could be that you find it different when you try it yourself. It’s really a matter of taste and what you’re used to. Hope you get to try it!

There are so many conflicting opinions on this! I guess most press cars with the performance pack would have been set-up firm and as such result in the negative comments on the ride quality

I would have considered the PP, but the fact that it comes with summer tires was a deal breaker. I need all season tires for snow, etc. I’m not looking to keep 2 sets of tires/wheels for different seasons. Since there wasn’t any other noticeable ‘performance’ upgrade, I decided to spend the $$ on the Pilot and Plus packages.

Well, it’s good that you made your choice and that you’re satisfied. There is really no “wrong” choice. But I’m a bit puzzled about the tire criteria- are you saying they offer all-year tires with the Standard Pack where you live?

    • @johng9435
      @johng9435 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@designdriven3340 yes. The P2 I got came with Michelin Primacy Tour A/S tires. Very nice tires! I think they’re standard.

Have you since added the OTA performance update? If so could you post a review thanks 🙏🏼

It appears that the PP that you are driving also has the plus pack. If this is the case then you get a heat pump which should improve your range in cold weather.

Good point. Not true for the launch edition, which is what I have. But true for every car being manufactured since June 2021, if memory serves me right.

No way I'd order one without the performance pack. The standard car just looks too plain and not special without all of the performancec pack goodies.
