Great review - every new PS2 owner should watch. I learned a lot about my car that I didn’t get at delivery. Hope you do more videos on your insights.

Awesome review! I like the details you mention. Another thing I would like to see is the actual consumption on the dash right in front of you, not the average consumption. So simple, but still not possible

Note that you also toggle the automatic high beam on or off by turning the ring on the left stalk to the top position. It's indicated in the driver display as well.
Great review! The UX design was one if the reasons we chose the P2. On the top of my wish list would be the ability to show both the rear camera and a smaller 360 view at the same time. The 360 is useful, but the camera shows greater distance.

Nice to see this car reviewed by a fellow ux designer. I'm test driving this car tomorrow. :)

You can move apps between the 4 different sections. If you press and hold an app in the apps overview screen, you should be able to move it to the othe 3 sections.
In the default home screen veiw where you have access to the shortcuts to e.g the media player. If you swipe down in the media play section, you have quick access to the apps within this section.
Oh by the way, very nice video with a good overview of ownership and experience.👍

Terrific video!! Thanks so much for this. I greatly appreciate your insight as a designer.
I placed an order last week on a LRSM with an expected delivery in 6 months. I look forward to watching your future videos to tide me over until August!

The homescreen is the same as the app screen. Only difference is that the homescreen show only the last used app in that quadrant. You can also swipe down in each quadrant to show the other apps

I would have liked for the rear camera to be visible while making turns. And also dash cam recorder/sentry mode. These are 2 useful features missing from an other wise very nice car.

Great review, one question. Does the google map offer Satellite view?

Not for the moment, but I believe it’s in the roadmap.

You may need to play from streaming services that offer surround sound such as Apple Music or Tidal or play audio files recorded with Dalby surround and Activate all speakers

Since Polestar (and Volvo) are Chinese cars, should I be concerned about my privacy when it comes to their electric cars? So can the Chinese government listen in and/or watch and analyze the data dump from the car?

    • @designdriven3340
      @designdriven3340  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I suggest you ask Polestar directly about that. My take is that the fact that Geely has a majority ownership of the Volvo group does not make the cars "Chinese". All the know-how (design and engineering) comes from Sweden. Any software and privacy requirements needs to be compliant to the country they operate in.
The main focus of the video is on Google Android. So in this case, if privacy is (a legitimate) concern, I think it's Google you need to worry about. They're the ones who've been found in breach of European privacy laws and fined for it.

If you put the car into Valet mode, isn't that enough to hide your personal data? As a potential buyer, I am curious about what the Valet mode actually does, but I haven't been able to find a video about this.

There is no "valet mode" that I'm aware of, on the Polestar 2.
