In this episode we're covering the Spectre.
It's a fully automatic weapon, unlocked at level 41.
The Spectre M4 is an Italian weapon, manufactured by SITES, or: 'Società Italiana Tecnologie Speciali'.
It was designed in the mid 1980s, with production starting circa 1984.
A simple, robust design - the Spectre is a compact weapon offered as a cheaper alternative for weapons such as the MP5.
To this end, it was only moderately successful - finding some use with the Swiss army, and Italian special forces.
Its most innovative feature was its high-capacity magazine boasting higher ammunition density than a conventional dual-stack box magazine.
In addition to the military models, there were also semi-automatic, civilian models manufactured: the SITES 'Falcon' or 'Spectre-HC' in a pistol configuration, and the SITES 'Ranger': a sub-carbine model.
The Spectre fires the NATO standard 9-by-19 millimetre cartridge - but more interesting are the magazines: an unusual quad-stacked casket design, allowing for capacities up to 50 rounds in a relatively compact - if heavy - design.
The magazines used in Black Ops are of a 30 round capacity - or 45 rounds with extended mags.
The Spectre is a low damage SMG, killing in 4 shots even at close range.
At a distance, you'll need up to 5 shots to kill.
Like most of the low-damage SMGs, rate of fire is high: dispensing a hefty 937.5 rounds per minute towards your opponent.
Unlike some of the weapons in its class, however - the Spectre has very controllable recoil: it is perhaps the best-handling SMG, tied with the MAC-11, and with the exception of the Skorpion.
Aim time is quick, like most of the SMGs: at 200 milliseconds - and the reloads, while not the quickest in class, are reasonably nippy at 2.3 seconds.
The Spectre is arguably the most effective low damage SMG, given that it has a fast fire rate, 30 rounds in its magazine, and low recoil.
Essentially, it behaves in a near identical way to the MAC-11: these weapons share the same damage, fire rate, and recoil profile.
The Spectre, however, benefits from a larger magazine - one of the MAC-11's key downfalls.
The Spectre's only real drawbacks are its slower reload time - amounting to only a third of a second difference, in exchange for 50% extra capacity in your magazines.
Like most of the fast-fire rate SMGs, the Spectre's key weakness is its lower damage, needing up to 5 shots total to kill, and generally no fewer than 4.
This, however, is where the larger magazine and fast rate of fire come into play: while the damage per shot may be low, the Spectre excels at directing a continuous stream of bullets onto a target.
When paired with a suppressor it boasts ideal stealth characteristics - meaning this ghostly submachine gun...
will haunt your opponent to their grave.
If you ever wonder what weapon to use for a stealth class, or if you're unsure how to play when using this weapon, just remember that "specter" is another word for "ghost."

the real life version has a 50 round dual stack box mag.
the way that mag worked was...tricky most of the time, as there are 4 total vertical stacks of ammo. I found that interesting when I researched it.

The "spectre" and "spooky" relationship has a deeper level. They're both USAF gunships based on the C-130, the spectre the more advanced model.

I was looking forward to this video. Spectre is one of my go-to guns for maps like Nuketown, Firing Range and sometimes Grid. It's quite effective, even in my hands.

Extended Mags are pretty good with the Spectre. If you want the gun to feel and fire like reality, you can't go wrong with it.
Well, first of all, you're seeing this from a completely different view than most others. People do use these guides, and XboxAhoy does a good job on them. I do give a fuck about weapons, and so do many other people. Look, all I'm trying to say is that if you have hate and insults for a video, take it somewhere else. The people who like this video will watch and enjoy it, and the people who don't can go watch other videos and mind their own business.

Among the best SMGs in the game. It is essentially a MAC-11 that lets you get a head start with Extended Mags. The fact that you have a bigger magazine, while also having all of the same great accuracy properties as the MAC-11, means that you can make use of the attachments much more effectively, but more importantly, you don't feel as big a requirement to use Extended Mags and Scavenger. It gives you so much more freedom to pick and choose what you want to do with the weapon. In particular, you can feel very comfortable using Rapid Fire with it, as all other SMGs either have more recoil or too small a magazine for cosure. The Spectre is the perfect blend for it.
I agree it makes some of the other smgs look like secondarys. The pm63 and the skorpion dont even come close to the Spectre

Sounds like Goldeneye never paid for the real life licenses for it. Same happened in BO2 with the Executioner and SWAT-557, they're both real life guns. But I think Activision couldn't get the license to use the real names.

Hey Stu, since the Commando in Black Ops seems to be the most ambiguous model, I just want to point out a few things. It's supposed to represent the XM177 Commando (which had a carrying handle and a long flash hider) used by SOG during Vietnam, but in-game, the Commando seems to be a weird post-Vietnam Colt 933 with a flat top modern flip-up sights. Which model are you going to designate it in your video?
When I played Black Ops, the Spectre was my favourite SMG. I used a class pretty close to the one set up in the video too!
Giving the Spectre 30-round mags makes me wonder why they bothered with the Spectre. Those 50-round quad-stack "casket" or "coffin" mags are the whole point to choose the Spectre over other comparable SMGs. 50 should be the standard. Extended mags could have 60 to 70.

The Lone Courier Not even that, I actually love a bit of recoil with my guns, it gives them a personality. Anyway, maybe it's just because I'm used to CSGO recoil.
bean.net I don't mind recoil, but it depends on the game. CoD cut Toughness this year so it really fucks you over when you aim for the head then some kid fires back and you flinch way over them. Kinda makes it seem pointless even going for headshots. I've never played CSGO honestly, was tempted to try it out at some point though.
The Lone Courier I think you should play it, but be warned, it's a fuck of a lot harder, there is no regenerating health/iron sights, it's way more team and skill based, and weapons kick like a fucking horse on steroids
csgo recoil and cod recoil are completely different, cods recoil system is more realistic but counter strikes recoil makes a pretty big skill gap in the game bc you have to know the recoil patterns if you dont want to shoot in bursts

Okay, I really have to agree now, the SMGs in Black Ops are ridiculously similar to each other. Most have the low damage and 937.5 RPM. It's actually kinda funny to see how Stu tries to come up with new ways of stating the SMGs' identical rate of fire. :)

My fav gun. Put dusty camo on it, dot sight but make it the 3 dot triangle make it green and the lens green with a extended mag. And use nova 6 out the ass and have light weight warlord and gadmask
on ps3 (my old console) this was THE gun to me when suppressed with steady aim, scavenger, and tac.mask. give it a go I got a 27-4 game with it. if you use this class please let me know. :) -skull

Personally, I think that with this weapon, warlord would help more than sleight of hand because of the already very fast reload. With a grip and silencer this weapon would be better at medium range as that is the way I play. With the addition of extra secondary grenades, close quarter battles will be easier to win as you can flash/stun your enemy. And for an extra boost, having two tomahawks will make close quarter battles very easy.

didnt know the commando guide is released yet, also i think the G11 is the classified assault rifle. I think to answer you question/reply to your statement, he is doing his weapon guide in the order you unlock weapons in, since all weapons need to unlocked first to get to the classified weapon, it makes sense that none of his guide is on those classified weapons yet.

easily, at the beginning, he said spooky, that is the AC-130U varient of the AC-130, and the Spectre (which is spelled the same way for the gun and aircraft) is the AC-130H varient.

Instead of this, they should have used the beretta m12, both are italian 9mm submachine guns, and they have very similar silhouettes. Also, the m12 saw limited use in the Vietnam War by US Embassy Marines during the Tet offensive

This is my favorite Submachine Gun in the game. In fact, I find it ideal to use this loadout;
Primary: Spectre (w/ either the Grip, Rapid Fire, Extended Mag, Suppressor, Red Dot Sight or Reflex Sight)
Secondary: ASP
Grenades: Concussion (tactical), and Semtex (lethal)
Perk 1: Lightweight
Perk 2: Sleight Of Hand
Perk 3: Marathon
It's very good with steady aim, and duel-wield ASP make it very perfect for a run and gun class

This was the best smg in the game. Put on rapid fire and use scavenger, sleight of hand and marathon and you have a meat grinder that reloads quick, doesn't run out of ammo and can move around the map quickly

This SMG gives em' hell, it's so easy to go 6-7+ kills without dying with this... then you run out of ammo because it's an SMG.
