2018 Infiniti QX80 Luxury SUV - Best "Value" in the segment

  • $65K may sound like a lot of money (and it is), but the QX80's starting price is by far the lowest in the 3-Row Full-Size luxury SUV segment. And now it looks good, offers a more refined drive and provides the presence the last gen QX80 was missing. And by the way, it was Ron Doron's #1 pick in the segment.

Or get a base Nissan Armada for 46 000 that looks better, is less blingy but basically the same.
    Yes please

I don’t understand how you say this is a good value. I don’t consider refreshing the styling a good value. And nothing in this class if going to drive great. But with no panoramic roof, no apple CarPlay or Android Auto and no tft instrument cluster at 65k it’s hard to see how this is a good value.

It's the least expensive body-on-frame 8-passenger luxury SUV. That's our definition of value. Regardless of what you think of Infiniti, it is a luxury brand. 4-year warranty, upgraded materials and better customer service (than Nissan). The next closest competitor is the Lincoln Navigator which starts at $73K. We highly recommend the QX80 over the Navigator.

Just because they have a low entry fee and they qualify to be the Full-Size luxury SUV segment, doesn't mean their actually competing. I would say this car is like the Kia stinger. It looks good and has a low entry fee but doesn't compete in the segment.

That couple at the end of the video were real. They now a luxury SUV now (Range Rover) but wanted something larger with a proper 3rd row. The QX80 absolutely competes with the vehicles mentioned, especially the Escalade, Denali, Navigator. Most first owners of these vehicles will primarily use them on-road to haul their families around and the QX80 does that as well as any other competitor at a better price point.

What your saying is absolutely correct! But that's a cop-out. There are many cars that haul families of all sizes around. That's what cars do, you can get a minivan that will do just that perfectly. This car has the same infotainment from 2011 how is that competing? I'm sure this is a nice car but you can put red lipstick and a red dress on a pig and it will still be just a pig.

Apple CarPlay sucks. I have it in my truck and absolutely never use, I have tried to use it but it’s just a headache.

Great car for the money. Premium class, it was much better. The bulk of the disgruntled in these comments have never driven such a car, so their words are empty words. Most likely to buy a car can not. This is my opinion.
    Thanks for the good review.

First Landing State Park!! One of my favorite area to visit when I’m in VA Beach. QX80 is nice too. I like the new look.

I would hate to spend 80k on a vehicle when the Nissan Armada, NOW, looks just like it.

It’s based off of the Patrol since 2011. It’s only a facelift.
