In US news and current events today, police are being filmed appearing to escalate violence at protests for George Floyd all across the country. Protests have erupted in at least 30 cities across the U.S. over the death of George Floyd during an arrest on May 25.
The National Guard has reportedly been deployed to at least 20 states to assist local police in controlling large crowds. Many protesters, the majority of which have remained peaceful, report police using tear gas and excessive force during the George Floyd demonstrations. A local Minneapolis affiliate interviewed a health care worker who said police shot at her while she was treating an injured protester.

is this violence supposed to help lessen the protest because i dont think it is helping and people will protest more because of this violence
you can see it right in the part of the video where the cop runs over the protesters. Were protesters standing in the car's path, sure, but they didn't get agitated until after the cop used unprovoked lethal force by trying to run them over. The cop could have easily kept inching forward and gently pushed past the protesters, but no, he directly provoked them. Were it not for video evidence like this, it would have just been the cops word vs the protesters word. Hopefully the cop gets charged with assault with a lethal weapon, but you know it won't happen.
And THIS is why we have the 2nd amendment. George Washington said “ "A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government."

All she did was not get out the way in time before this probably over-steroided macho man shoved her with such force backwards into the ground, that she cracked her head, had a seizure and then went to hospital. He did this right NEXT to his supervisor. Neither of them even turned their heads to check on her.

This is true, you got to remember, most of these people aren't used to skirmishes and protecting themselves from bodily injury, or wrestling with armored cops with advanced repressive weaponry. A LOT of injuries are occuring. We have to be there though, because if we don't stand up now, this will be the new norm. Escalate it, and show the world how wrong this is. Protest absolutely peacefully. We need STRONG organization to harness these frustrated people who have MANY issues with this system. We are out there for black lives, because if they don't matter, neither do any of us at the hands of the "law".

I saw, as millions around the world did, George Floyd being murdered by
police (Derek Chauvin). It made my old eyes leak all day. I hate racism
of any kind, nationality, religion, colour, etc. I'm an old British army
veteran. I always felt a sense of pride being with people from all
walks of life and trying to protect those that cannot protect
themselves. If I was there, I know I would have risked my own safety to
help George and stop those murderers. So sorry George, I was not. RIP my

These police have to have a warped sense of reality to respond to police brutality accusations with more police brutality.
They clearly have an inflated self image that leads them to believe they can break laws with immunity. And the reason for that is, before George Floyd police across the country committed police brutality and killed people only so that they would be charged with absolutely no crimes, and further that judges would say they acted in self defense.
There was a case where a police officer stormed into a family's home with other officers, and although I'm unsure why the police were there a dog came and started barking at an officer, he immediately started firing his gun at the dog but he shot a little girl in the eye instead. He was going to kill a family dog in front of the family because it barked at him, and instead shot a little girls eye out. In the body cam footage he showed absolutely no remorse and didn't even apologize or ask if she was okay. He was later acquitted of all charges because they said he acted in self defense and feared for his life. From a very small family dog barking at him. The girl lost her eye and he was found not guilty of any crime.
This is what was happening for years before George Floyd, and they responded to George Floyd by committing more police brutality.
