The cops in the George Floyd incident were arrested within a week...you have to consider that arresting someone and indicting charges takes time, gather evidence, review footages, DNA, autopsies, all of it during a pandemic. When Justine Damond (I know that name is unfamiliar to you) died, it took 3 months to indict charges.and before you say it might have been a different jurisdiction, it was not..it was Minneapolis, MN...she was an Australian Woman who called the police about a potential domestic violence issue in progress. The police (a somali cop) arrived on the scene and accidentally shot him. 3 months it took to bring charges on her. So many other black people have died because of walking out of their front door, playing with their kids, shopping, even just doing nothing in their own home. People are tired of the inequality that still stains the soil of this earth. It isn't the fact that one man died, it's he fact that he isn't the only one that's died. They're protesting not for one man but for the entire black race. They're protesting for equality. They're protesting so that they're future generations don't have to feel the fear their ancestors felt when they saw red and blue flashing lights. They're protesting because there are so many black victims that have been slaughtered by cops for no reason and the cops havent even gotten charged yet. They're protesting because they're tired of the injustice.

There is difference between protesting for justice and using a man's death to cause chaos and death.
What can we do that could be different to really change things ? I say....
A very strict selection of police candidates, careful review of civic record and psychological tests, and then continuous review of policemen dossiers. There were around 18 reports on Derek Chauvin including excessive force. Why he was still in the Force ? Also, there should be specific rules for officers on duty, to obligate them to stop a member of the force when he is violating the rules of engagement and be considered accomplices with equal accountability if not. Floyd was totally neutralized and lethal force was unjustifiable = murder.
Accountability. Get rid of the code of blue. No protection for rotten apples. To start. Diminish police power and reliance. More investment in education and other opportunities for communities in need.
