Another New Shortcut on DS Yoshi Falls

Here's another supergrind egg bounce shortcut on DS Yoshi Falls, and this time it doesn't skip any key checkpoints, making it eligible for the No Ultra Shortcut category! This saves over 2 seconds on the NU flap, though nobody is sure right now if it will end up viable for 3lap due to a lack of testing. Additionally, I'll probably put more testing into pulling off this shortcut without the shroom into the second waterfall, though based off attempts when I was first trying to pull off this cut it's probably not likely.
There are a lot of things going on during this cut that might not be immediately apparent, so I'll try to break it down step-by-step. I start by beginning a supergrind after the first waterfall to build external velocity for the shortcut, following the edge of the road as closely as possible. I then shroom into the second waterfall, catch the road to wheelie, and then hit the slope out of the waterfall to generate height. At the same time, I hop and bonk the wall underneath to quickly kill my internal velocity and get sent sideways towards the egg. On the way to the egg, I turn right midair so that the EV I've generated helps to increase my IV, then I finally shroom right before I hit the back of the egg to get a massive clip and preserve most of my EV at the same time, which gives me enough distance to land on the other side.
This shortcut was incredibly difficult to pull off, mostly due to the hop/bonk combo right before I hit the egg. Not only do I have to get a ton of height off of this hop to hit the egg near the top, I also have to ensure I don't lose too much IV from bonking the wall, or else I'll hit the egg in the wrong spot and get no distance. On top of all this, there's no guarantee good clips will even come close to landing, and in fact I had gotten multiple by this point that had no chance. When this is the case, the only option is pretty much to restart attempts back at the end of the supergrind to completely reset QM. However, I still managed, and the best part is that when I finally did hit the clip I needed, I got so much extra distance that I was actually able to clear the entire gap with only one shroom, rather than the two I was expecting to need.

A shortcut method that bounces off of the egg, it doesn’t skip any key checkpoints, is viable with Funky Kong on Spear, could be 3lap viable, and is faster than just supergrinding is so surprising and cool!
I loved how you were able to use Marth’s TAS from the start.
The strat uses 3 mushrooms, I’m unsure if this is 3lap viable, even with improvements
@@GunnerSiIva wow, you are very late to my comment and to this video. There’s a much newer TAS that does the shortcut with only one mushroom. Because of that, it’s very viable for 3lap. Check the website to see the new TAS Flap BKT.
