I hope you don't mind if I throw in this tip in modeling for people who don't know ! If you mess up on painting your model do not use thinner to remove the paint, as thinner if used enough will make the plastic brittle and break. I use ( easy off) oven cleaner . It can be used on a model as many times as needed and will not harm the plastic. Just spray on and let sit , and it depends on if its enamel or acrylic on how long it needs to set .with acrylic a stiff brush or tooth brush will help . Redo the process if needed!
The rear engine nozzle cut outs would look loads better in photo etch, be interesting to see what comes out in the next few months, also the AMT kit is due for release in May.
I use tamiya weathering powders , use a fine tip paint brush and wet it , then rub it on the powder color of your choice. Then apply it on to the model , you can go over the line that you apply to achieve the proper darkness. Then use and wider brush to feather it all in!
I find that I have alot of control , that being I you can do what ever you want and clean it up easily without using thinner or very little thinner if a mistake is made . And i think that to me when you blend it all in with the dry powder after doing the lines with wet powder just looks so realistic. But it comes to preference. Your model is beautiful keep up the great work, it actually will inspire and teach the next generation of model builders!
Looking really nice mate, I've managed to brush paint the cockpit and Mando, but I'll have to wait until spring to really get to grips with it, my shed is way too cold at the moment 🥶👍
@@johnsimmonsscalemodelling5270 little late to the party here but I don't think this is an addition CGI detail or mistake by revell, The panel that looks almost like a shoe seems to slide up and down when coming in for landing, this panel opens to direct thrust downward and then is closed when in flight, similar to real life aircraft and their reverse thrust for landing. Too bad this ship is gone now, may she rest in peace.
Oh my God just get a wide flat fan tip brush and pull out some of the hairs leaving gaps like a comb and then dry brush your streaks which you already have the gaps in between them
Glad you saw those cutouts on the flutes. Nice. Looks great.
Yeah thanks man….Shame I didn’t notice before I painted them! 🤣
Thanks for sharing your process, especially the trial and error. Glad to learn with you, as you go along. ;)
Thanks, just having fun :)
Totally agree with Johannes’ comment : ))

Yeah I’m wondering how the Round 2/AMT Will look
Metallic finish is beautiful John ! I think the Razorcrest is one of the best Starwars designs - as far as modelling is concerned .Wales UK.

Hey John, this is your Pal Al,do you mind me asking where you are? Are you in the States?
Hey, I’m in the U.K.
that missing detail looks there to me, just in the CG model it has rotated up as if to expose a vent or something
Maybe, quite possibly something they added to the cgi model
I think it’s a story beat . Not there initially but loses a panel and is exposed at one point then replaced again when it gets repaired.
@@alanlake2102 yeah John Stuart also thought the same. Thanks

It’s ok, I find a normal flat brush works better. Thanks for looking in though
