  • I wanted some noise and heat insulation inside the cab and a practical and durable floor covering. In the spirit of the budget rat truck build, I use some materials I found in my shed - roof membrane and PVC Floor tiles!

I absolutely love to see things being used in different ways respectively in more ways than they are originally made/invented for. You're quite an ingenious guy. Congrats!
Only one thing I wondered about: Why haven't you simply bedded the thick bitumen stuff right into/onto the fresh asphalt paint and used the paint as a sealant and glue?

Hey Div, that really turned out good! Every old jeep / truck I've rebuilt, the floors were rusted out because of moisture trapped in the carpet or in the felt padding under the mats. I just spray the " paintable " black undercoating on the floors and leave them bare . I am going to have to do some sound deadening material on my 64 F100. Even with the new door and window seals it's too noisy at 55 mph to talk without shouting. Well, almost shouting!:) Looks great!:)

Well done, Div. Looks great, and should work very well. If you had the inclination, you probably could have "torched down" the entirety of the membrane using a heat gun, or even a hair dryer- flameless, and probably hot enough. With that said, the finished floor and your trim should hold everything down nicely, as-is. Curious question: Is "Div" your proper name, a short form, or a nickname? I'm glad you spelled it out- I had thought you were saying "Duff". South African accents are quite different to us Canadian folks. Thanks, and keep up the good work!
